I chose them to manage my investment property. They were fairly prompt on setting everything up and got tenants in there fairly quick. They are one of the few companies with a bunch of certs. And that's where it stops. In the advertising, they barely listed it anywhere and only used 1-2 pictures even after I sent additional images. No professional photos were taken. There was a disagreement between us because I wanted to allow dogs and they did not. They were late sending the online sign up instructions, signed lease, and rent increase notification. There was no maintenance or inspections completed during two years. When the year lease was about to end, the company stopped responding to my communications until I sent them a contract termination notification. At the end of the lease/when the tenants moved out/as I'm changing companies, there was duplicate paid maint (2x visit for same issue) and HVAC yearly check. For owners, look at the fees! They are ridiculous and you can't do anything without paying a ton of money. Also, if you live out of state and expect good communication, keep looking. read more

I am about 1 year living in Elpaso and I so stupid that I did not check this place out before I rented from them.Make sure you ask your agent that who do you renting from RENTAL NETWORK is not the place . I tell you why,anything wrong with the house you will have to call or go to the website to reporting the issue (even you come on in to the office) they not gonna fix it ... unless it is emergency even emergency they won't call 24h service you will wait for a day or two. I ask Rental Network to call 24h service but they ver did and don't even care about you don't have any water at the time , imagine how you can get shower dishes, restrooms.....(not fix after 24h) it makes worse!!!!! NOW YOU UNDERSTAND WHY THEY GOT 1 STAR REVIEWS. I feel sorry for the HOME OWNERS that trusted RENTAL NETWORK BUT Rental Network did not cares about their properties. I never take time to write reviews regarding negative experiences, but my experiences with El Paso Rental Network and specifically Linda Holzer was so incredibly negligent I find I must warn others. We listed our home for rent with El Paso Rental Network with great enthusiasm, but instead experienced the following: 1. contracts between our tenant and us (the estate holders) did not match (different terms of lease). 2. Upon finding mistakes in contracts and reaching out to find a solution, Linda stopped answering our emails. 3. Upon visiting her office, due to no response, no solutions were presented and instead Linda became emotional and cried about her mistakes, without ever offering a way to move forward. 4. After visiting the office, there continued to be no response to emails until we stated we would take legal action. 5. When meeting in good faith to solve the conflict, Linda opted to advocate for the tenant despite us hiring her to be our fiduciary. She often shared how bad she felt for him regarding the situation and explained how tough it was for him. Again, exemplifying she did not take her duties as a fiduciary seriously. We asked her over and over to keep in mind that we were her clients and the tenant was her customer. Her lack of regard for real estate ethics was bewildering and we will definitely take this case to the Texas Real Estate Board. I wish I would've seen these reviews before renting a home with this company. They are so unprofessional it's not funny. They are rude when you call in for a question, they hang up on you when you start to get upset with their idiocy. I have an agent who refuses to talk to me now cuz I blew up on her for being a complete moron. They will always place you on hold and "talk to their supervisor". I wouldn't recommend this company for anyone. If you do you better have good rental insurance and a lawyer just to get anything done. Let's see... I marked one star only because of well... because it is the lowest rating possible. If I could I would give them an upside down penny. Several years ago my family and I were moving here from AZ. I contacted this company and had the unfortunate privilege of speaking to the owner. I informed him that we had four animals and would be requesting a rental property that could accommodate them. His was response was "Well, that is a bit excessive." Needless to say, I didn't bother to continue at that point. Just last month I contacted them to help me find a place for my mother who was moving to El Paso. I left all of my information on their website and was contacted a day later by a woman asking all of the same questions that I had answered online. None the less I answered her questions. I told her about my mother's two dogs and their breeds, and weights. She told me that she would have to contact the owners of the property and she would get back to me that day about whether they would accept them or not. I am guessing the owners said no because as of yet, she has not gotten back to me. This company has the worst customer service I have ever experienced and I would only recommend people who are not serious about renting to contact them. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!! If you are military reading this. I say again "STAY WAY!!!!!!". This business is definitely not military friendly they do not give a damn. Linda the owner I don't know who does she think she is but I know what she is. Through our 2 years of renting a house I repaired the yard took good care of the house NO MAJOR DAMAGES. I have a 7 year old daughter that yes did some VERY MINOR damages to here room wall. Myself and my wife clean the house before inspection. When This THING (Linda) came to inspect starting from the front door she tried to put words in my mouth "I thought you said you were going to do touch up paint" that's when I knew already this THING was out to get me. I never said that I was going to do touch up paint ever. This thing goes through the house and takes pictures and goes off on this and that just trying her best to find little things. Our security deposit comes back and we get $400 out of $1250. They charged $500 for TOUCH UP PAINT. And $180 for carpet cleaning which she lied to me during the inspection when she said they charge $80 for carpet cleaning, and I know touch up paint is not worth $500 and charged us with some other petty stuff. We PCS Fort Lewis Washington and Camp Humphrey both duty stations lived off post and never had this type of service and both gave us back full security deposit back. So please if you did finish reading this. Stay away from this place and please be careful who you work with if you are out looking for a place for you and your family. read more

My review of Van Horne Estates Apartments? The office sucks. Plain and simple. They don't know how to do paperwork, lost my forwarding address from when we cleared the apartment, and then tried to say we didn't pay our pet deposits. When I asked them about it, all they could say is "corporate cuts the checks when someone moves out, so they'll add and take away as they see fit." I'll be a name dropper as well, Frank... he's the incompetent employee who lost the paperwork with my forwarding address then tried to recreate it without the address. This isn't the first time they screwed us over either. The first time was between January and March of 2017 they shut the power off to apartment 1708. I lived in 1707, and the power company shut our power off because the meter boxes were labeled wrong. When I called the office about the power boxes being labeled wrong (I was deployed at the time while my spouse was still there, but he's not good at talking and working things out over the phone) they told me I would be charged for the cost of fixing the boxes (re-wiring them from a professional electrician) and that we would be held liable for the differences between the bills backdating to when the meter boxes were placed and that it would be a credit for 1708, if the bills were different in any way. Instead of owning up to their electricians mistakes and taking the difference upon themselves, they tried to hold the person who was renting the apartment liable for every cost of the repair and the differences of the bills between the two apartments. All in all, Frank and the assistant manager who work in the office are extremely incompetent and don't look out for the better interests of their renters in multiple different ways. read more

If i could give negative stars I would. We moved out of our rental in July. Had the place professionally cleaned, however when the lady came to check us out she said "not clean enough" even before walking through the home. They sent us the remainder of our deposit (650 of 2000) saying that there were "holes in the wall", that they had to replace the microwave (which was working perfectly), burnt out bulb, etc. They just lumped all these things together and charged us $750 and refused to give us any more information when we called. The owner Nate was downright rude. This company is very unethical. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM- especially if you are military. I wish I had read all the reviews before renting. Although the most recognized and well-known agency in the region, I'm not convinced of RN's absolute commitment to their clients' best-interests/bottom line. I have two properties listed with RN, and always wonder if I'm being fleeced for "fees and costs" every time there is a simple repair/new tenant, etc. Calling the office usually results in frustration on my end, and the feeling that I'm a burden. I wished I read the reviews before going with them. I didn't find out about the first tenant eviction until they were asking me to remodel 3 weeks after the tenants left. The second tenant was evicted within 6 months and I'm pretty sure the 3rd eviction within a few months was due to the mgmt company not responding to fixing things in a timely matter. They will not inform you unless you specifically ask. I noticed all 3 evictions after seeing court costs on my record. So we rented out a house the beginning of this year. it was such an easy process.. everybody in the front office was very nice, helpful. My only problem, which has to be the biggest problem ever is the house we rented out has F*CKING ROACHES!!! absolutely disgusting. i've had the exterminator come twice.. and he must be putting down water or something because whatever he is spraying is not helping with the problem.. when we moved in, we bombed the house, just in case.. then after we seen more roaches we bombed it again... my husband is an OCD FREAK!! the house is cleaned 24/7 and I mean spotless. I know, whoever rented out this house before we did, had to have had a roach problem.. and i'm sure they reported it.. why couldn't they fix this nasty ass roach problem before renting this house out again.. I see about 5-10 dead roaches a week and it's only in the master bathroom. I love the location, neighborhood etc... but these damn roaches have got to go! it's absolutely disgusting.. I received my security despoit back only to discover that they charged me $100 dollars for carpet cleaning and $185 for yard work. I do not see where these fees and charges are coming from. I made sure the hedges that were there was cut and not overly overgrown. The backyard was just dirt and I made sure that the weeds that was growning back there was removed. When I called asking about the charge for the carpet the lady on the phone was like did you let the lady know you had the carpet cleaned. I said yes and asked her if she needed anything from me. The lady said NO and continued taking pictures. I need to find out where I can report this company especially for the families who are military. They will rip you out of your security deposit and not care. The list of problems I had with this place were insane! My first complaint is the unprofessionalism of the people working here, they won't talk to you on the phone only over email and they only email you back one or two words even after I would put in my email to please call me. I mainly delt with Nat who is completely rude and when I asked him why he was being rude he told me he wasn't... So that can just give you an idea of him. Secondly they never fixed anything I had to hound on them to get anything done, they also didn't inform me a stretch of street behind a brick wall was mine so I got a nasty gram for not keeping it weeded, I then weeded it and they still charged me 50 bucks for gardening when I know for a fact no one came to garden it. I asked for a receipt from their gardener and never received one just a nasty email telling me if I kept my property clean i wouldn't be getting charged. Upon moving out they gave me a 4 page long list of things they wanted clean before we left, I spent a week scrubbing from top to bottom and that place was way cleaner then most people leave their rentals yet during my walk through they looked disgusted and told me they were gonna have to have someone come in and clean. They also needed to repaint because there had been damage to a wall but I had it repaired professionally and they charged me 200 dollars for repairing it and again would never show me a receipt for anything they had done, I didn't even get half of my deposit back. I was having legal issues through child support so I was unable to make my rent on time, I informed her that I would pay the rent and I will pay the late fee when I get paid and she told me no that I would have to pay it in full so to wait to pay it and accumulate more late fees. Lol this rental company is a joke. They have no compassion for their renters, they will not work with you what so ever on anything! they just wana throw the contract on you because all they care about is your money. That made no sense to me I am able to pay the rent but I got rejected until 3 more days when I get paid because they want more late fees. F*** this company and their homes, the home is crap. I'm gonna have to fix things on my own it seems like while they're busy sucking all the money out of me. Carpets were NEVER cleaned when moving in but sure charged us to get them cleaned prior to moving out (3 rooms for $126). They made us move out at the end of the month when we still had 13 days to stay in El Paso before our next duty station. For the love of God, find another company to do business with. I promise you dealing with these people is going to be a headache, staff is rude and NOT customer friendly oriented. Repairs needed on rental property takes over a week, all request have to be done through email no matter the emergency of the repair (fridge went out and needed replacement asap due to breast milk spoiling). Regudless of how clean/fixed the condition of the property is left in, expect %10 or less of your deposit back when you move out. If you do decide to do business with this company keep a paper trail!!!!! Condition of Property form which you fill out before you move in (put down what wrong with rental so at the end of ur lease you don't get charged) they did not file it so I was charged for previous damages to property. I will STRESS staff is very unprofessional, you will receive attitude, they will roll their eyes, management is of no help as well. Chunky Miss.
