First, he charges me twice the delivery fee as everyone else in the area. Then, his driver drops off the backhoe a mile away from the construction area and doesn't even call to say its there. I have a crew on the clock sitting around waiting for 2 hours. I finally call in to see where the backhoe is and with a rude tone he tells me its dropped off. No apologies for not calling when I specifically asked to be called by the driver. This is a CAT backhoe I rented. I have a 25 year CAT operator on this job. As he gets on the backhoe, the joystick settings are in John Deer mode which is the opposite of CAT operations. The manual was for a newer CAT and did not have the correct instruction on how to change it to CAT mode. I called in to get his help and he offered no help. Unfortunately we only managed to get a little work done since the CAT operator had to work in reverse mode. No compensation offered. Monday morning I sit and wait for the driver to show up to get the backhoe after I get a call from them saying to bring it back to the street. After 2 hours of sitting and waiting, I called to see where the driver is and he says, "we'll get there when we'll get there". The following day I call to see if he has refunded the deposit and he said he has not yet checked the backhoe. He said he was on his way to do it now. 2 days later, still no call and he does not answer his phone. Take my advise and DO NOT RENT HERE! Its time to teach this old timer how I deal with guys like him. The charges are disputed and I will hire guys to stand outside his entrance with signs that say don't rent here. I will not let this jerk continue to do rip good folks off.

I wanted a Kubota. The "local" Kubota dealer (40 mi away) was my 1st stop. I gave them my parameters and my budget. Over 2 months they gave me quotes that were too high and not close to what I wanted. They weren't truthful with me and tried to only sell me what THEY had in their stock. I was driving north on Inst 5 with my wife, discussing my frustration when she said, "... well, are they the only Kubota dealer?" On a whim, she Googled Kubota dealers near me. Up popped Nor Cal Tractor Sales ... (these guys are all part of the same company) ... in Redding CA and they were 10 mi ahead and right off the highway. We walked in, dressed for "Lake Time" and their sales rep (Kris B) was immediately accommodating. I told him my saga and what I had been looking for. Model numbers etc. That's where I learned I'd been misdirected. Kris pointed out the models I was asking about were older and no longer available. They didn't even have them in their rental fleet any longer. Then he showed me the new model ... the one the other guy told was so new they couldn't even get one for 6 mos. ... he had 4 of them. I had given him my budget already, remember? He came in $4k under!!! Then ... cherry on top ... he delivered it for $200!!!

I'm a recent property owner in the valley and quickly realized it is real business to manage your land up here. No fooling around allowed. I stopped by the local "John Deere" dealer (Pape' Machinery) to see what they might have on the used lot. Well, to no surprise, just like bikes, old trucks, and houses in Montana, everyone went out and bought a used tractor during Covid. Ha. I'm here in the valley for the long haul so with Clay's help, I leaned in for the purchase of my first tractor. I was told by my buddy in New Hampshire that i needed to have at least 25 HP to the PTO. JD 3032e was the solution. It was late on a Friday and I could tell Clay was busy wrapping up the week and had another customer to help as well. I offered to come in the next morning to get the new tractor. The next morning I arrived on time and Clay was there. It was only then that i realized he had driven in on his day off. Nearly an hour! All in order to help me get my tractor while I was in town for the weekend. Clay's accommodations continued throughout the process. He delivered the tractor to my place later that day and helped me get her set up. He delivered all the implements as they arrived and has always been available to answer questions. If you are near a Pape' Machinery store in Fall River, ask for Clay. But don't worry if he's out. The rest of the team has been incredibly helpful as well! Enjoy!

They lied to me about my reservation for over a month, I kept asking them if my truck is going to be ready one month before the pick up date, and keeps visiting them every week to confirm my reservation. A day before the pick up date they still told me that my truck is ready for tomorrow. Well is was not!!! This is not even the half yet. So, he tells me he found one 10 foot truck 9 miles away for me at above location in 420 Alamo Ave, Weed, CA. So I call them to double check that info, they tell me NO, they don't have any truck like that, So as you see the lies just keep on coming from U-Haul Mount Shasta location. Later that day I learned that he gave my 10 foot truck to another customer who was driving to a further away destination. Moreover, they are proud to tell everyone how much money they make from Marijuana's dealers who rent their trucks a lot. Nothing to be proud of buddy :)
