JUNE 2025 - DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY I booked unit T34 in Siesta Key for our family vacation. We drove 9 hours to arrive at a unit that is unfit for occupancy and surely illegal to be advertised as anything else. These are a few of the issues we noticed in the short time we stayed before having to leave and book another accommodation for the week. - Mold on ceiling - Broken sleeper sofa, - Food debris in utensil drawers - Broken patio door with suction handles attached as a "repair" - Broken patio furniture - Trim and paint throughout the entire unit was disgusting and falling off - Fire escape stairs next to unit were closed off and marked "Danger", irony at its finest I attempted to call the company about moving to another one of their units with no answer. Left a VM on their "emergency line" with no call back. I sent several emails to the company around 5-6pm and did not hear anything back. I had to book an entirely different accommodation to try and save our family vacation. This was not a cheap or easy feat given that it is the first week of summer in a highly touristy area of Florida. Colin finally replied at 11am the following day and was quick to dismiss my request for a refund after providing all of this info and the pictures. He stated that they would not be refunding me as I left them "hanging out to dry" and they couldn't rebook anyone for the week. Their concern was the money and not the fact that they needed to address these issues in the condo BEFORE rebooking anyone. It is unfit for occupancy. I was told that they have an emergency line which goes out to someone immediately and they would have gotten back to me the night before. I informed Colin that I did call the emergency line and left a VM to which he replied "I'll have to check with the guy that handles voicemails". So now after paying for a new AirBNB an hour and a half from this first experience, I am left to file a chargeback with my bank and attempt to get my money back from these scam artists. Colin made sure to tell me "you will have to go through your bank". They know a refund is due and want to attempt to push it out until it is forgotten about. I will also be submitting all of this documentation to BBB. DO NOT rent from these people unless you feel like gambling on showing up to a dump and losing your money. read more

Before renting for next season, I checked Yelp for RentSiestaKey. I was shocked at this company's rating. This is the 5th year out of 8 using them. Any issues I've had with the units have been addressed promptly. Not sure what other raters are expecting but as a seasoned snowbird, Rent Siesta Key has served my wife and I well. read more

Rented a house during an unfortunate hurricane, causing all of the airports in Florida to be closed. We politely asked if we were able to reschedule to another date or get our money back. Instead, they responded to let us know "It wasn't their fault." And denied both. We as well purchased insurance on this stay and they also responded that "It was not their fault the airports were closed." I feel as a business you would try your best to accommodate to your customers but we will no longer be using this company or recommending them to anyone. Inconvenient and inconsiderate company. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE service. SO rude. Waste of $2300. read more

worst thing about this rental #204; and all the beach house rentals is the fact, you cannot lower the AC below 73. Awfully warm. The sheets did not fit the bed, they smelled of way too much bleach. Bed was free standing. Moved every time you move. Extension cords throughout the condo. So few plugs. blind slats missing on front window. 2 or 3 inch slats. Anyone could have looked in. I stayed one night and they would not refund my money. Not even partial refund. My credit card is fighting the charges. Place was literally awful. Wound up staying somewhere else. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY We recently booked a vacation with thus company via Booking.com and booked 1903 Lakeside House Bradenton. On arrival we were met with chalk graffiti on the paths of male genitalia, then when entered property was hit with strong damp fusty smell. We stepped out into lania and found a pool thick with green algae type slime covering the entire floor, walls and steps of pool. Dirt and debris from trees and yard in the pool plus a lovely used bandaid floating at the bottom. We contacted Adam the Maintenance Manager only for him to call us liars, and even said "God I hate dealing with fucking idiots like you". We rented a house with a pool and he told us to shut up moaning and enjoy the house and he would try to fix the pool, as he was fully aware of the problem as he had been trying to call the Pool Guy for a few days but was unable to get hold of him. As it was now Saturday 7pm it would be unlikely that he would get hold of him now till Monday or Tueaday, then he would have to Shock the pool, where we could not be able to use it for a minimum of 24 hours. So that would mean Thursday at the earliest, but we leave on Saturday. He just told me to stop complaining.... This is no way you should be spoken to your customer. This company have refused any refund, the house has old damage resulting from leaking AC which were were told happened over 13 months ago, confirming that maintenance was non existent. We have spent hours trying to deal with Booking.com and the rental company but they refuse to listen. We left the property after just 3 hours as the damp and mould spores were causing breathing difficulties for myself and my daughter. The Company have yet to reach out to me, but still refuse any refund. This happened only 5 days ago, and no contact. DISGUSTING ATTITUTE AND BEHAVIOUR FROM STAFF AND THIS COMPANY. We rented a property on Anna Maria Island and noticed black stains in the shower right after we arrived. We contacted this management company and sent them pictures. It turned out to be raw sewage with toilet paper and kept coming up in the shower. Two young ladies showed up after several days to deal with the situation. They had no experience in rental management and had only been working for them for six months. They called a Plumber and left a message. No response. When we called their manager Adam, he was hostile. We called the town compliance dept and they came to see the situation and put up neon green warning signs on the window. We left and went to a hotel. This company was known to the compliance officer as unresponsive and we will never use them again. Stay away. read more

We had to have them come almost every day for the first week when we were there. These were things that had been mentioned by the previous guest that had not been taken care of. After looking at the return air filters, it's clear to us they are not taking care of this home very well. We would not rent from them again. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the cottages and it was extremely dirty and not to mention you have to buy the essentials once you get there even after you spent over a couple of thousand to stay for a week. There was hair in the bed, the blanket had white stains on it (we both know what that is) and the shower was filthy. The host provided one roll of toilet, one fork, one spoon, had no garbage bags, and last but not least there was no hand soap for the bathroom. The TV in the bedroom did not work, the window in the living room did not shut so hot air is constantly blowing in and the air conditioner has mold in it. There are plenty of other places to stay in Siesta Key that are just as close to the beach that are a lot nicer for the same price. I wish I did my research and I suggest you do the same. read more

WORST Property Management Company on Siesta Key. I worked with Sammy Marken to rent a condo "on the beach" on Siesta Key. They had a "wonderful completely refreshed free-standing villa in the upscale community of Crystal Sands, a beach front community on the powdery white sands of Siesta Key Beach" that offers "two onsite pools, with outside showers, and a private beach that await your arrival, complete with beach chairs for your fun filled day at the pool or the beach". Well, they forgot to mention that the property was under construction, with beach access CLOSED so you have to use a long detour through the construction area to access the beach (see pics below). There are typically restrooms open for use along the beach access - CLOSED (see pics below). There is also a nice pool near the beach - CLOSED! The beach chairs and loungers were locked up - definitely not awaiting a "fun-filled day". This is in addition to the fact that this "wonderful villa" has the bedroom literally on Midnight Pass and is so loud a good night's sleep is impossible. And wearrived to a villa that had not been completely cleaned, had no working internet (despite the advertisement stating it worked), and a garage full of horrible smelling trash. Some of these issues may have felt workable with a property management company that cares for their clients and communicates honestly so you know what you are paying for. NOT SAMMY MARKEN! Not only were we deceived about what we were renting, they refused to work with us on any of these issues, flat out lied, denied the trash smelled (um hello... 95+ degrees and you have bags of spoiled food and trash in the hot garage) and refused to refund us even for the nights we did not stay there. 650 Canal Road, Siesta Key property is a piece of garbage! Don't waste your hard worked money on it or any of their rentals. There is visible mold in the upper bedroom. Bedrooms don't have blinds. Main bathroom shower does not drain and smells horrible. The toilet seat is in terrible condition. Washer has rust in the drum. 3 out of the 4 bikes keep loosing their chains. The kitchen is poorly equipt with unusable pots and pans. Tea pot was rusty inside and out. The filters in this house have not been changed since the dawn of times. Stairs are loose. We stayed at this property for a month! Despite me calling multiple times and the management promising me to fix current issues. NO ONE CAME !!! THE WHOLE MONTH LONG!!! read more

We were excited for our condo rental in at 105 7th St at Bradenton Beach. However the rental was less than comfortable. The steps to the unit are rotting and the paint is peeling. The table on the porch had cigarette ashes all over it. The property supervisor was leaving as we were arriving. He told me that "it was just sand"....uhhh no, it wasn't sand. I do know the difference between sand and cigarette ash. Initially the condo looked fine, but as we looked at bit more closely, it was lacking in many areas. The refrigerator stunk like old fish. There was one set of "nice towels", but the other sets were old and stained (so gross). The sheets were old and "pilled" (again so gross). The bedroom blinds were the old vertical plastic blinds, which is bad enough, except these were missing slats and they didn't even close! The porches off the bedroom and living area were not maintained....dirty, old, paint peeling, etc. The sofa looked nice in the photo, but in person it was so worn and dirty and I put a sheet over it before I sat down. The TV did not have any streaming services, so we were limited to Charter spectrum. The beach chairs were old and rusted and broken. On a positive note, I will say that the unit did not have any visible dirt. The applicances were new, and it was decorated nicely. It was nice to be able to just walk across the street to the beautiful beach, and it was close to bars, restaurants, and the fishing pier. If you just want a place to lay your head at night and don't care about the looks or maintence or the unit, this will work, as the price was right. However, if you want a place to relax and feel comfortable, this is not the place for you. read more

We got to our place for the week and everything was dirty. bathroom have looked to never be cleaned. floor was black from dirt, Pubic hair left in the shower. all floor boards absolutely disgusting. everything is outdated and dirty, the couch spring where broke and that was supposed be a second place to sleep. When we received an email back after complaining we were told "you were provided new linens and it's clean." so for them, as long as your bed is clean, the cottage is clean. Red Tide has overtaken Siesta Key and the surrounding area 100 miles north and south. The red tide kills all the fish and eels which wash up on the shore and makes the smell on the beach terrible. Siesta Key has had problems with Red Tide multiple times in the last few years - you never know when it is coming - so just be safe and book in a different location a few hundred miles away. read more

Warning stay away from this Company!!! We rented a condo Bayview 108 9th St. South until B Bradenton Beach FL. Upon arriving at the Condo on 5/20/22 our condo was filthy. The floors had sand, dirt, blood and hairs on them. Microwave and stove had food in it. Oven had cleaner all over the inside. The bathroom shower had mold, dirt and hair in it. Toilet was dirty with hairs on it. Mirrors were dirty. Sofa pull out couch had sand and dirty sheets left on them. Couches were dirty and torn and smelled horrible. Too many others to mention. Property manager was notified right away. Property manager Adam came to Condo. Adam agreed it was dirty. Adam said he would refund my $130.00 cleaning fee. I also explained to Adam that the directions to get to the condo were very confusing. Adam got hostile and said he wasn't going to give our cleaning fee money back. I asked if I could have his boss name and he said he was the boss and walked out of the condo. I later found out that wasn't true. Looks like Joe Meszaros continues to be less than honest in his business practices and it appears to be catching up with him. Just check out the most recent reviews on his property management skills and you will see for yourself. Despite being fluent in 3 languages (as he was so proud to point out to me) he continues to have difficulty with the meaning of honesty and integrity in the English language. After reading these horrible reviews on his properties, I'm so glad he abruptly cancelled our contract/reservations! Things happen for a reason and it looks like it was a blessing in disguise. My family rented a villa on Derby Lane for one week in April 2018 and Rent Siesta Key was the property manager. We were very pleased with the service we received leading up to, during, and after our stay. The villa, its pool and proximity to the beach were all highpoints for our family of 6 adults and 2 young children. During our stay we noticed that a portable electric fan in the house was broken. We contacted Rent Siesta Key about it and a brand new fan was delivered within an hour. Also during our stay, the pool cleaning service arrived for a scheduled cleaning and removed plant debris in and around the pool...thus we were assured of a clean pool during our stay. Upon returning home, after our vacation in Siesta Key, I discovered that I'd left my jewelry bag in the dresser of the master bedroom. I contacted Rent Siesta Key right away. While I never really expected to see my things again, I thought it was worth checking, and I was right! John Stutsman with Guest Services contacted the new renters, confirmed my belongings were still on site and arranged to pick up the bag. He then packaged everything up and mailed the items to me, keeping me posted every step of the way. The service provided by Rent Siesta Key, and particularly John Stutsman, more than exceeded my expectations. I was relieved and grateful for his quick and thorough attention to this matter. My name is Dean Jolly and I rented a property from your company, RentSiestaKey.com for 3 weeks this March. We came from Michigan and returned back about three days ago. I've attached the reservation paperwork so you know which property I rented from you. It is located at 665 Beach Road. The link to your website for this rental is http://www.rentsiestakey.com/Unit/Details/53715 I didn't see anything referenced on the property description/website about incessant mammoth construction project noise, roaches or rats. So, I didn't expect what I saw when I got there. As soon as we got to the property, we were surprised and disappointed to find out that there was SIGNIFICANT construction going on next door that started every day at 8 and continued through each day our entire stay. The construction project next door dwarfed our rental by 4 fold. It was all exterior work and VERY noisy. Ive attached pictures of the four stories of scaffolding that surrounded the property and workers next door (10 feet from our unit). Banging, Cutting, Hammering, Generators, Cement Mixers, and worker chatter. A two-by-four fell from the upper scaffolding and just missed hitting my wife's head one day on our way to the beach. I've also attached a video of the noise level that we experienced, which was absolutely mind-numbing. And, I've attached pictures of one of four (4) live roaches that we found inside the unit. Lastly, I've attached a picture of a rat that lay dead right outside our door to the unit we rented from you. The rent we paid was over $5000 for three weeks. I'm asking that you consider offering us a credit towards future rent at another Rentsiestakey property in the next 12 months. I'm not ever really one to complain, and like you, I'm quite busy. I am so sorry to have to leave this review. My family has been traveling to Siesta Key for many, many years. My husband and I love carrying on my childhood traditions with our children now. We were so looking forward to our week away in paradise. Unfortunately due to the global crisis going on, and instructed by our governor to STAY HOME, we had to cancel. These were orders beyond our control. Rent Siesta Key would not give us a full refund. I understand these are hard times, and they are hard on everyone, but due to the circumstances, a FULL refund should have been granted. I will be sure to never rent through Rent Siesta Key again, as well as telling my entire extended family who visits Siesta Key area often, to not rent through them either. We had a trip planned to celebrate our senior girls! Sunshine, beach & fun for a whole week! Literally a condo just across the street from the gorgeous Siesta Key beach! We couldn't wait!! Then the pandemic hit and everything fell through. We had to cancel for the safety of ourselves, our loved ones and those we would be around on vacation. Not by choices but by recommendation of our government. We requesting a refund of our $1950+ payment, we received $114 back. Wish zero was an option. Rented thru VRBO and two weeks before we were to arrive i we weee told they were switching us to a different but better unit. That was more $$. I don't know how it can be considered better when we went from a two bedroom two a studio That was significantly smaller and now had one tv. When I called to discuss either a different rental or compensation I was told that clearly I was going to be nothing but a bitch and a pain in the ass and he fishnet want to deal with me so he CANCELED our rental. Then refused to take calls. FYI this was the first year I've COVID and was right when beaches opened back up. Within 30 minutes our original rental unit and the one we were moved to to weee BOTH back up for rent at DOUBLE THEO PRITCE we rented it for. when I attempted to retake h anyone in the office i kept getting " Joe" who claimed to be the owner and threatened to charge ME with stalking. It was a blessing in disguise. We found a rental thru another VRBO listing and personal rental amazing place clean owners so friendly and helpful. So thank you JOE. This management company is sub par, and that is being generous! If I could give negative stars I would. We rented a home they manage which was riddled with ants, rats, spiders and more. The smoke alarms did not work, the hot tub was broken, the ice maker was out of order and the "outdoor kitchen" had a disable faucet and refrigerator. Upon contacting the management company to discuss the above we were told they'd come by...three days later we are still awaiting their arrival. During an in person attempt to minimally get the smoke alarms to work we were kicked out of the office and threatened with police response...we were forced to contact the fire department to request the home be inspected due to to the lack of smoke alarms and a presumed live wire that was found to be sticking out of the ground, which this company also failed address. I am expecting a wicked response from the owner as evidenced by his prior responses to negative reviews and the consistent lack of accountability he demonstrates. Please stay away from The Bismark and truthfully I would not rent from Rent Siesta Key at all. The management simply does not care and will do nothing if you complain about a thing. I chose this house back early summer as a place to recover from a major surgery. They are very pushy and just want you to sign the contract immediately. I had several questions after the hurricane hit to ensure the house had no flood damage. It took awhile to answer but they did. We called two days before our scheduled arrival date to see if we could shift our whole reservation up one day and leave one day earlier. They said no problem the house was ready. The pool was not clean, there were leaves everywhere, tables outside were dirty, but the neighbor next-door said he was not told we would be arriving until the following day. He did the cleaning outside that was necessary. The problem started after the first night when we awoke to bug bites all over our bodies. We had to exterminate/sprayed with bug spray we found in the home and leave for several hours. This did not work as we got ate up the following night as well. Upon further investigation we found bugs in the beds. These are small black crawling bugs that bite. Now trying to recover from surgery I had the added discomfort of dealing with insect bites. We had to buy anti-septic and antibiotics and Benadryl. We had to sanitize the sheets and linens. I took pictures and notified the property owner which he just called us liars and said the pictures I sent were of lint and dismissed our claim. I pleaded with him to come to the property to see for himself but he never had a reply. He chose to completely ignore the situation. We had to exit 2 days early because of the bug infestation and the discomfort we were subjected to. Don't let the pretty pictures fool you. Now we have scars on our bodies from all of the bites we received at this home. We should have chosen a proper hotel. I will never make this mistake again. I have the pictures and video of the black bugs in the beds. I also try to write a review on their very own website and did so three times but they have yet to post it. They seem to only post the great reviews. Please don't be fooled. UPDATE: With all due respect you never proved us wrong. You never even made the effort to come look for yourself. You knew you were protected by the contract language and we could not get out of it and you simply did not care. I still have the videos of the bugs moving in the bed. As I stated to you at the time, "since when does lint crawl?" Your exterminators found nothing because we had to exterminate it ourselves, just another added expense and we sanitized all of the linens in both bedrooms. There were three guests during the stay and not all three people had surgery. There is only one person who had surgery. All three people are not hallucinating. Beware beware beware!!!!!! Worst experience ever and the customer service you receive from the owner Joe is like getting your face spit in. Notice they don't have a google review spot, and notice the last review on their website (which you have to dig to find) is from 2017. I reached out to him after renting Big PAss Hideaway.... the emergency number they give you good luck no one will respond.... the pool was filthy dirty (with no light in pool as well.) he says the pool closes at 10 it's dark at 9 so explain that.. the fountain they show in the picture in the front is filled with green stagnant water (nasty mosquito infested fountain in front of the house). I talked with the pool guy he said they refuse to fix the fountain or waste electricity running it to keep it clean. The light in the pool is a 30 dollar fix they don't want to waste money here either... keep in mind we spent 2000 on this property for 4 nights.. see below our correspondence.. also pictures upon arriving. Please don't rent this duplex if you want decent accommodations to stay in! First the bath towels are stained and bleached out, it looks like they've never been replaced! Secondly the sheets on the bed dont fit properly and are shredded at the ends, you'll be basically sleeping on a foam mattress that doesn't even come close to a typical mattress! The dining room chairs are all stained and this unit and the unit above has a ant problem, as I spoke to the tenants. As if that's not enough don't be fooled by a communal pool, figuring it's just meant for this duplex. Behind this building is a unattached building with I'm not quite sure how many units that has complete access to the pool you will be staying at. There was 10 people just from that building in the pool so we couldn't even enjoy it with the family in our own duplex. The manager will just dismiss your concern so my advice is go elsewhere if you want to enjoy the wonderful island of AMI! Don't be deceived by this rental company. read more

If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. We were informed before arriving that a painting company would be at our rental in Siesta Key for one day. It should be little to no inconvenience to us. When my husband moved the car that morning, the painters informed us that they would be there for 2 weeks!!! When I called John, he seemed surprised that no one communicated this with us. I'm quite certain he knew the entire time but did not tell us in advance. Our week vacation in beautiful Siesta Key was a nightmare because we had to keep every window and blinds closed since painters were all over the house and near all the windows, including where the shower was. In addition, the materials (ladders, paint cans,etc) were all over the yard, often making it difficult to even exit the front door. The smell of the paint was overwhelming and we were not able to use our private pool as a result. When I spoke to John, he was less than pleasant and did little to nothing to compensate us for the week we were there. He said the owner would not give us more than one day refund. Do yourself a favor and NEVER book with Rent Siesta Key. They are dishonest and just want your money. read more
