Rent Scene was absolutely pivotal in my apartment search. I was moving to Philadelphia from out of state and had 2 days to find a new home. Alex worked with me to set up two days of appointments across about 7 apartments. He was patient, super responsive, arranging things behind the scenes like a mastermind. On the first day Dwight showed me three apartments, and gave me great tips on what to consider when looking for a new neighborhood to call home, and was super informative and helpful. On the second day I found the place that I'll be moving into next month! Rent Scene made the entire process incredibly manageable. I can't recommend them more highly. I would use them again in a heartbeat. read more

Alex was nothing but a pleasure to work with, especially considering that I had absolutely no idea what I was doing during my entire apartment search. Though I didn't end up signing a lease through Rent Scene, he was extraordinarily helpful in offering apartment suggestions, answering my (many) questions, and setting up tours ahead of my day in the city. Would highly recommend for anyone apartment hunting in Philly, especially if you're moving from further away and need help coordinating logistics! read more

I ended up not renting a place in Philly due to a recent job change, but Rent Scene was incredibly helpful in reducing the stress that comes with apartment hunting-- I wish this service was available in every city! Alex was great to talk to over email and my current roommate and I had a wonderful time touring places with Fabiana. If you're stressed about finding your next place to live, Rent Scene is an incredible service and I highly recommend it. read more

Rent Scene was great to work with! I'm moving to Philadelphia from out of state, and was only able to come to town for one day to look at apartments. Rent Scene coordinated viewings at 8 different apartments for me. They handled everything and made the process so easy. read more

Rent Scene was wonderful! My partner and I were planning to move to Philadelphia from out of state and they made the process so straight forward compared to doing it ourselves. They were very communicate and helpful throughout the whole entire process, set up a whole day of tours, and helped us work with the landlord when it came time to signing. They're great!! read more

USE RENT SCENE!!!!!!! Alex was SO helpful and made the stressful experience of moving SO much easier, especially because I had no prior knowledge of Philly. I provided a list of things I was looking for and my budget and Alex did all the searching and set up all my tours. Because I was moving in from a different city, Alex set up multiple Facetime tour days where I saw multiple properties in one day like a walking tour. Alex supplied videos of any units that couldn't provide Facetime tours. Alex was well-informed, fast, thorough, and seemed genuinely invested in getting me a place. I ended up moving into an apartment 2 days after touring it, thanks in large part to quick movement on Alex's end! read more

I accidentally came across this rental agency midway into my first ever search for an apartment in Philadelphia. They were so cooperative with listening to my specific criteria & drafted a suitable list of apartments. Alex was very responsive and patient. He created a schedule of back to back apartment viewings. Fabiana, another agent met us for the day and supplied us with friendly honest opinions as we toured every single unit. Despite not finding our dream house that round. Alex worked with me and found yet another list of houses to tour. He even provided videos of the units! Can't get more descriptive than that! We were adamant for a 6 month lease and Alex definitely delivered! We finally found our home sweet home on Columbus Blvd. I truly appreciate all their help and highly recommend to anyone searching to rent a place on Philadelphia. It's just an experience made easy! read more

My daughter and myself used Rent Scene to find her apartment in center city. We were both very impressed with Jordan and all of the input and recommendations he gave us. Rent Scene did a fantastic job in finding apartments within my daughter's parameters and price range. It was also excellent that they set up all the appointments for showings. We were also amazed at how accurate the spacing was between viewings. On our second showing we were accompanied by Fabiana from Rent Scene. She was also very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. My daughter chose a really great apartment that we would have never known about or thought she could afford if not for Rent Scene. I would recommend their service to anyone! read more

Recently, my gf and I were going through the process of making arrangements to visit numerous properties for a move to Philly from NYC. And what we didn't realize early on was how much time and effort we could save by using this agency. Rent Scene was able to provide us with a complete experience from booking viewings, custom communication, guidance on the different neighborhoods being explored and more. Chris was our broker/agent, and he was extremely helpful and resourceful throughout this entire process. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! read more

This is a great free service for anyone looking to rent, and definitely helps simplify and expedite the entire process! My partner and I have used Rent Scene twice. Last year, we were looking to move on a short timeline at a very busy time for both of us. After reaching out to dozens of places, spending a couple weeks touring, and getting the runaround from several property managers, we were left with just a couple weeks left to find a place. We happened across Rent Scene through a unit we were looking at and their agents prepared a full list of places meeting our parameters and set up several consecutive tours in one day. We were able to lock down a place that day. They can also set up tours of other places you might already be looking at but haven't been able to nail down a tour for -- or even get a response from. Touring with an agent means they can get into most places at any time by using the lock boxes, instead of having to wait for managers to be available. This year, we reached out to Rent Scene for our move again and had another good experience. We appreciated the honest and informed advice we got from both the booking and touring agents. We toured with both Fabiana and Dwight, who were great to work with. read more

The team at Rent Scene, especially Alex, were extremely responsive, helpful, and gracious throughout the entire process. They handled the back and forth, and we were able to get our dream apartment! We are very grateful for the Rent Scene team. read more

As a potential renter, my experience with Rent Scene has been a disaster. I answered a post that was just bait as the apartment had been rented well before I responded. However I continued with the process as Jordan was very responsive emailing me to see different apts. After seeing some I learned that Jordan isn't a real person but a code name used by the whole team that takes shifts and makes sure to stay on top of all communications. This morning I received an email that "Jordan" took it upon themselves to reach out to my current landlord regarding the termination of my current lease, and then emailed me to remind me of the terms of my current lease. WHAT THE F*CK??? I considered filing an ethics complaint but I don't know who to report someone who doesn't exist. So here you go yelpers- "Jordan" isn't real but is SUPER CREEPY and might VIOLATE YOUR RIGHTS, too. read more

I've moved twice in the last year and Chris has been an immense help both times. It's pretty crazy to receive this kind of service for nothing out of your pocket. There really is no reason to look for a new place without asking for their help. If I move again next year I will definitely hit up Chris again! read more

I just recently used Rent Scene to find my next apartment & had a great experience. Alex worked with me and found a long list of apartments that checked all my boxes and then some. It was also a pleasure having Dwight show me the listings & the whole process went very smoothly. Within a week I had a lease signed & the only thing I paid to rent scene was my application fee. I highly recommend using their services! read more

I was astonished by this company - how personalized the experience was, how invested Jordan was in helping me to find my dream place... He went above and beyond and sent me recommendations for ancillary concerns like parking etc, available to email with on weekends, and so friendly. All of this was completely remote - I didn't even step foot in Philadelphia once for the whole process. Ultimately, they found me a place I've been bragging about to everyone I know. I will recommend this place to every single person in Philly who's thinking of moving. read more

When I first moved to the area, I was a little overwhelmed - so much to figure out; what I could afford, what neighborhoods made sense, and then identifying my "must haves" - pet friendly, bottom floor, access to some sort of yard, within walking distance to my office, etc. Alex was very good - she was on top of things and constantly checking in with me, providing an active and useful list of available places with photos. She even sent emails late on Saturday nights! I did go to one showing with Dwight, who was very helpful with tips about the neighborhood. In the long run, I ended up finding my own place on the other side of the river. Places were ALOT larger, more affordable and had a lot less deposit requirement (1.5 months up front, as opposed to 3 months). read more

From start to finish RentScene was on top of their game. During my long distance move to Philadelphia, they made it as seamless as possible. I want to extend a huge THANK YOU to Fabiana and Adrian. Adrian set up the appointments and sent me a live list of all the properties and times. Any additions/removals were updated in real time, which was greatly appreciated. Fabiana was absolutely amazing and made my entire on-the-ground experience a breeze. I was completely flustered from a hectic morning and she pretty much worked her magic. By the time we were done looking at spaces I completely forgot about my crazy day and was comfortable, happy and ready to move forward with the perfect apartment. It's also great that they take care of all the paperwork and deal with the landlords - one less thing to stress about. These guys are truly great at what they do! read more

An absolute pleasure working with this company! I had a short timeline and a tight budget on a recent out of state move. Alex was patient and helpful and provided a range locations that fit my "wishlist". He responded to al of my inquiries within minutes and followed up with property agents in a timely manner. Dwight went out of his way to assist me during the tours and provided a local perspective on the neighborhoods that really helped me with my decision. They were professional and understanding and I would GLADLY refer them to anyone and everyone! read more

As a landlord, my only regret is not engaging Rent Scene earlier. I had a listing that sat idle for several weeks with only a few prospective tenants showing any interest. Then I connected with Chris, and things changed. Chris asked all the right questions, took the time to understand what my specific needs were, and crafted a plan to find the right tenants to come tour my property (vetting them beforehand to make sure their time line, price range, etc. matched mine). I never felt rushed with Chris, and he spent the better part of that first afternoon going back and forth with me on the details to get the listing perfect. In short order, he had a list of tenants ready to tour the property. Rent Scene's help isn't free, nor should it be. It is, however, totally reasonable to pay for help instead of losing a month's worth of rent (like I had) and paying utilities and insurance (like I had) on an empty property, when an expert like Chris could have filled it a lot sooner. I'll have this property for a long time, and I'll find myself in need of a tenant again. When I do, Chris is the first person I'll call. read more

I inquired about a property and emailed several times with Rent scene. The last email before I stopped responding said, "Hi Emily, Please cc your husband on this thread." Um, it's 2018. No need to cc my husband, as I am the one doing the house-hunting. And if I did want to cc my husband, that's my business, not yours. I especially don't appreciate a man telling me to do so. Anyway, I stopped responding, and looked elsewhere for an apartment. A few months later, we were back in touch (I emailed a craigslist post about a property for a friend not knowing it was managed by Rent Scene). They emailed, called, and texted, so I figured, hey why not give them the benefit of the doubt and tell them why I don't want to do business with them. So I did: "Please don't contact me; I don't want to work with your company after you told me to "cc my husband" on an email thread in May." Instead of an apology, I get this, "We generally ask spouses to cc one another as we need both emails on file to schedule a tour." So I respond, "Perhaps you should consider how that sounds in an email and rephrase it, or change your policy." So Rent Scene says "My apologies for the misunderstanding." NOPE, no misunderstanding here, just misogyny! Listen to your customers, guys! EDIT: after RentScene's response: again, you are not listening to the concern and getting the point, but instead responding defensively and explaining something I already understand. Of course I see why having multiple tenant's email addresses could be useful. But in this case it was not necessary. And the way it was asked was poorly done, so accept that feedback and change the way you are communicating with your married female customers. read more

I can't say enough good things about Chris! I contacted him and we were on the phone less than an hour later. He was very understanding and had a good idea of what I was looking for. You cannot understate the value of RentScene and its services. RentScene (specifically, Chris) reached out to me about renting my old apartment out to a new tenant. I had to leave my apartment long before the lease ended because of COVID-related struggles. I had posted my own listings but turned up 0 solid leads. RentScene took all the stress off my shoulders and found a new tenant in a very timely manner (about 2 months), even with the insanely difficult COVID rental market. Chris was always empathetic and positive. Their responsiveness, flexibility, dedication, and thoroughness consistently impressed me. I would recommend RentScene to anyone looking for help with the housing market. read more

I would recommend RentScene to anybody! Alex was phenomenal with just about everything! She sent me the list of apartments within the same day of contacting the company and was super quick with answering all of my emails. She must work 24/7 because there wasn't an email at anytime that went unanswered. She was incredibly patient with me, since my boyfriend and I haven't gone through this process before AND we were relocating to Philadelphia from New York. When it came time to see the apartments, Alex was able to coordinate us seeing almost everything within one day, since we were only in town for the day to find our apartment. For the one that we couldn't see, we could've had a FaceTime tour, but we ended up moving forward with one of the ones we saw that day. Dwight was our tour guide for the day and he was amazing! He gave us honest tips and notes of the areas that we were seeing, since we wouldn't have known. Any questions we had he for the most part had, and made the overall tour just a fun time! All in all, using RentScene made this, what could be stressful process, easy as could be read more

We actually were just searching for places on Apartments.com and sorted out a few we liked. Alex reached out to us within a few days and was extremely helpful. Alex was very professional and involved throughout the entire process and was a pleasure to deal with. Absolutely recommend. read more

Chris C rocked it when it came to finding my new apartment! Working with him made me feel at ease to go through with the process of finding and viewing potential properties, asking his opinion on the rental market (especially during this unprecedented time), and negotiating the best terms for a lease agreement. Since day one the staff at Rental Scene went above and beyond our expectations. Alex was incredibly helpful in not just sharing available units with us but really helping us think through what we wanted, helping us think creatively past our must haves to get a better mix of all worlds, scheduling convenient times despite our crazy schedule, and being so available every time we needed her. Additionally, Dwight was always timely, knowledgeable and willing to do any follow up necessary. We were also incredibly shocked with the immediate availability of a Rent Scene representative every time we needed someone, despite it being after hours at times! Your company really does take the time to understand the anxious and stressful process of looking for a place and makes yourself available for the entire process, we are so impressed! read more

Dwight stood me up twice for appointments to view an apartment. The first time, I called him when I arrived at the apartment and he told me that I couldn't see the apartment because he couldn't find the keys. I wrote him off then and started pursuing other leads. However, a week for so later Alex emailed me apologizing and asked if I would still like to see the apartment. I made the bad decision of saying yes. Again Dwight stood me up. At the time of the appointment, he called to say he would be 30 minutes late. He didn't show up at all and stopped answering my calls. I was pretty annoyed. But I became enraged when Alex emailed me asking why I had missed the appointment with Dwight! I was on time for two appointment and your guy didn't show up. Thanks. read more

We worked with Jordan from Rent Scene for our cross-country move to Philadelphia and absolutely loved our experience. We only have great things to say about Chris Coulton and his colleagues at Rent Scene! In searching for a rental, Chris helped us to realize that home buying better fit our needs in a trans-American move from coast to coast. He led us through each step of the way as first time buyers and was incredibly reliable and trustworthy as our sole "feet on the ground," in the Philly area when we couldn't be. The process was amazing, quick, and successful, as we found our "forever dream home" with Chris in less than a month. His professionalism and response time was par none--we wholeheartedly recommend him and Rent Scene. Many thanks to all from our family to yours at Rent Scene! read more

I was moving from out of state to Philadelphia and Rent Scene was very helpful in taking some of the stress away. Emails were answered promptly, everyone I interacted with was very professional and they seemed to really work with finding options in my budget. I would use them again. read more

Rent Scene helped us out tremendously, as we were struggling to find an apartment (especially one that is dog-friendly). We were living in Vermont, so we could not get to Philadelphia quickly and did not know areas very well. Paul helped us search and find an excellent apartment. Jonny was great at showing the place and offered all resources that he had to make sure we knew all of the information. When there was a slight discrepancy with the lease, the team at Rent Scene worked with the property owner and representative to work it out and I feel advocated for us well. All team members that we worked with were easy to reach and very responsive to our questions. I would definitely recommend Rent Scene to others! Update: Marvis was amazing when we had a challenging situation and helped us through it in a pinch! read more

This is my first review on yelp, and I'm writing it because I have been astounded with the quality of customer service that the Rent Scene has provided. I moved to Philly recently and had to find an apartment from out of the country. The rent scene responded to my emails immediately (usually within a couple of hours, even on weekends), and provided a customized list of apartments that fit my needs. They were even willing to chat with me nights and show me apartments on Sunday evenings as those were the schedules that worked best for me. That type of customer service just doesn't exist anymore. During my apartment search I used a few different real estate agents. The issue with the Philly market is that everybody doesn't have access to the same listings, and so it can be hard to know what's out there. Rent Scene makes it easy because they have developed connections with the community at wide and have the most (and best) listings that I saw. Moreover, if you're renting from outside the country, they will film the apartment for you and take pictures so you know what you're renting. The rent scene is connected, on the ball, and care a great deal for what they do. It would be a mistake to use anybody else. read more

Using Rent Scene made moving so much easier! We were moving from NYC to Philadelphia and reached out about an apartment through an app. We had never actually heard of Rent Scene, but Jordan responded letting us know that he could help us see the apartment we reached out about as well as others if we were interested. I asked him to send us a list which he did and we were able to see new options that hadn't been listed on any of the apps which was great. We were also able to send Jordan options of listings we found elsewhere and he reached out to them directly for us to schedule viewings. When we were ready to tour, Jordan schedule our appointments with Rent Scene guides who met us at the apartments. Dwight was one of our guides who took us to a few places on both Saturday and Sunday and he was great! We didn't fall in love with anything that first weekend, so we worked with Jordan to set up more appointments for the following weekend. We found one that we loved and decided to move forward. We were able to apply and submit our application fees electronically through Rent Scene. This did cost us an additional fee for processing but was really helpful as we were no longer in Philadelphia and would not have been able to drop off the checks to the apartment management company ourselves otherwise. He continued to walk us through the lease signing process and worked with the management company to answer any questions we had. When it came time to pay all of the upfront costs (first and last months rent, pet fees, etc.) the management company required checks within 24 hours and, again, since we were not in Philadelphia this would have been near impossible for us. However, Rent Scene was able to cut and deliver the checks for us. There was an additional fee for this as well but it was minimal and well worth avoiding the hassle of trying to overnight checks. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely recommend! read more

They put up fake or expired ads on Craigslist to trick you into giving you their contact info. They don't actually have those listings and they won't answer any questions before they get your contact info. Avoid this SCAM!! EDIT: In response to their comment on this review, the reason I did not give them contact info is because they do not actually have the listings that they put on Craigslist. They list a 3 bedroom at $2,500 (and leave it up on Craigslist for months) and then once they get your contact info give you different places that are "similar" but cost way more. It's not a good deal, that's why they rely on this bait and switch tactic. Don't get tricked! Don't work with them. read more

Alex was fantastic! He saved me a trip to Philly prior to my move! I really didn't have the time to go out there beforehand, but it was hard to find a place online without being familiar with the area. Enter Alex. Within less than 24 hrs of contacting Rent Scene, Alex responded. After finding out what I was looking for, he sent me a list of apartment buildings and brownstones. Once I had narrowed down the list, he was able to visit the buildings and send photos. He even sent me a few video tours! I especially appreciated his ability to answer more detailed questions about the buildings. As a local, he had very valuable information to provide. If he didn't know the answer to a question, he would find out for me. I also appreciated his patience with me, as I am extremely indecisive. I went back and forth, back and forth, for over a month. Ultimately, I am very happy with the apartment I selected! I definitely could not have done it without Alex's help (certainly not from out-of-state). Highly recommend!! read more
