They test any equipment before they send it home with you, so you don't have to get all the way home only to find it's not working properly. They'll give you detailed instructions on how to work whatever you're renting as well, which has proved very helpful. They have a great website so you can look up all the tools before you go. Prices are very, very reasonable. But perhaps the biggest reason you should choose Rental Works over any of the other rental places in town is how incredible their customer service is. The gentlemen there will treat you right. I've been using them for a couple of years and every employee I've ever interacted with has been helpful, polite, and gone out of their way to make me happy. Once, I had to rent a sump pump in the middle of a bad winter storm. It was so icy I couldn't bring it back the next day and they didn't even charge me a late fee. Needless to say, I couldn't be a happier customer.

Mind you, I have four separate storage cages with four different padlocks for them. I tried cutting the locks off with a small hacksaw with no luck. Next I tried a small bolt cutter borrowed from a neighbor... nada! I then "yelped" "tool rental" and up popped Rental Works conveniently located on W Broad St just off I-64W. Called them, they answered immediately (this is Saturday morning mind you), and found they had a heavy duty bolt cutter with 36 inch handles. They promised to hold it for me so I zipped out to their Location from downtown in less than 15 minutes. They had the bolt cutter sitting on the counter waiting for me. I took the minimum rental time of half a day (4 hours) for all of $12.00, drove home, easily cut the locks off and drove back to Rental Works where they actually met me in the parking lot with my receipt, a hearty congrats on getting the job done and sent me in my way. A long story I know...BUT I'm not sure I've ever had such great service from such knowledgeable and friendly guys. Almost wish I had more locks to cut off. Rental Works is definitely my "go to" tool rental" place from now on.

I needed a log splitter for one days worth of work. We cut down a large Red Oak a year prior and…read morenever got around to splitting it. We stacked the tree on the back of the yard but splitting it with an axe was just not just not cutting it. My plan for the day was to go to the convenience center (Chesterfield VA term for transfer station) to drop of a load of branches and then go to Home Depot to rent a splitter. I just happened to spot this place out of the corner of my eye and did an unannounced drop in to see what they had. They gal working the counter was awesome, helped me get all set up and checked out. I pulled around back and the young gentlemen hooked the splitter up to the truck and gave me a quick tutorial. I am going to need to rent either a skid steer or mini excavator coming up to do some land clearing and small trenching and plan to use the same place.

Over the last year, i've rented several things from them and always had a good experience. They even gave me a "Welcome to Powhatan" T-Shirt when they found out I was new! They have solid equipment and they are very knowledgeable about it. But I also appreciate that they are willing to offer suggestions with my landscaping or minor construction challenges when i am out of ideas. In fact, the owners of PRC are VERY helpful, going out of their way to help me get my work done. Once when I paid for a half day rental of a bobcat and wasn't quite finished by closing, the owner actually came by and picked up the thing half an hour after they closed rather than force me to pay for an extra day.
