I've been with the staff at Renouvele for about five years and while I've posted before, this review warrants a secondary nod to not only the professionalism, impeccable bed-side manners, their down-to-earth manner, but their ability to cure what was medically not possible. About a year ago, I was diagnosed with pustular rosacea by one of the best-reviewed doctors and estheticians in Orange County. I'm a sucker for spas, beauty treatments, and do my research. As a backstory, I have a plant-based diet, eat pretty clean, exercise, and for the life of me could not figure out why I developed the skin condition as I never had anything like it before. There were no new lifestyle changes, and I did a diet elimination as well as tried every topical serum, holistic Healthcare diet, and even naturalist procedures to try to cure it; nothing worked. At some point, I realized that the once beautiful skin that I had was long gone and I had to make the best of life with what I was given. For someone who had beautiful skin, and given the fact that I'm a teacher and children look at my face every day and they're so brutally honest, in a way, it felt entirely debilitating that a huge part of my identity and lifestyle practice that I advocated seemed to nullify. There seemed to be a sense of shame that I was promoting a diet that would result in health, but with a look at my face, it seemed contradictory. My mental health started to slowly wane down the tubes, and I was getting increasingly forlorn. In a side rant to Rachel, the owner, she suggested that I try some of their treatments which are not only mild, but slowly rehabilitating, but state of the line and only available at a few select salons in the country. It was costly, but no actually on the cheaper side in a lateral comparison of the same treatment from other spas, but in retrospect, it was well worth the money as it restored so much of my dignity, happiness, and a sense of who I was before all of this. I only wish I had just done this treatment sooner than before. for those of you that are mid-30s like me that have suddenly developed acne when you never had it, or if you're a teenager with acne, I suggest you to really give this place a try. They're not going to give you strong chemical treatments that will strip your face of all of its barriers, they're completely dry your skin, nor will they suggest a hormone treatment...instead, these treatments attempt to restore and bring forth the glow that is within. Renouvele did just that. As an Asian, pustular rosacea is extremely rare and as such, there are little to no studies that show efficacy. Everyone, I have searched every long-term peer-reviewed article, called so many estheticians, naturalists, and doctors, and even considered plastic surgery as I wanted to just rip off my face; as a last measure, I gave Renouvele a shot. You won't see results after one session, but gradually, the results are profound. If I can go from Orange County's best esthetician telling me that there is no cure and way to fix this, and to actually finding a cure, you can too. I did cool slimming on my inner arms which is a non-invasive treatment that destroys the fat cells during a three step (hot, cold, hot) 28 min session. You first start off with a two minute hot session to soften the skin, followed with a cold session that crystallizes your fat cells causing apoptosis (death of cells), and then end with a short heat session to flush out the dead cells. I have done cryo slimming and toning and both work really well! I have lost up to 2 in of my stomach and .75 in on my legs with slimming. Toning was great for cellulite, although it does require several toning sessions to see results. Vicky was fantastic at making me feel comfortable and explaining everything. Like with everything though, this isn't a one and done type of solution, you do need several sessions and you still need to eat healthy and exercise to sustain the results. I loved my facial! Right when I came in, I felt taken care of. I was offered a yummy spa beverage. The space was clean and beautiful. I got tucked into a comfy, soft blanket and settled in to relax. I initially did the cryo slimming on my upper arms, then on my lower abs and was shockingly surprised at the results. Immediately my arms felt and looked slimmer. I eat relatively healthy and work out, but I never could lose fat in my upper arms and lower stomach. Finally I see improvements with the cryo slimming. Renouvele is cute & clean. I was given a chlorophyll water upon arrival which was minty and refreshing. Vicky greeted me and took me back to the facial room which was also very nicely decorated and clean. I went with the Aqua Glow Facial. Vicky made sure to explain to me what she was planning to do before she did it and I could feel my skin getting cleaner and cleaner after every step. I really enjoyed the hydro jelly masks she used on me. They smelled so good. I left with my skin feeling clean, soft, and glowing. She also provided a detox tea on the way out. My husband and I went here and both got aqua derm facials. Since he is prone to breakouts due to in grown hair, Vicky was able to do a customized hydro mask and also recommended a micro needling treatment for his skin type for next time. His skin looked great and felt soft after! For myself, I have dry skin and acne. The extractions were painless, compared to other places where I was literally in tears from all the pain and irritation. I also liked how they didn't try to push any unnecessary products on me and instead gave me tips on what kind of face wash I should be using. Vicky was very knowledgeable and explained every step of her process while she was doing it. After the treatment, my skin looked brighter and felt so hydrated. This place is amazing! I'm extremely hesitant on getting facials or allowing anyone to put anything on my skin due to my sensitive skin/eczema. I'm also very unfamiliar with all the types of facials services that are out there.
