I bought Renewal By Anderson windows because I was told they were high quality and I liked the warranty. It has been 7 years since I purchased and the window doesn't close all the way. The hardware is bad, and the warranty states a 10 year warranty on hardware. However, they told me it would be a minimum of $150 to come out and check and then more to fix. However, when you email the address, as directed on their website, it immediately rejects the message. Whether this is set to reject ANY outside email (which would seem to make general information requests difficult and, therefor, hurt their business) or emails containing words related to the request of removal from their mailing list, I can't say. So this review is for multiple aspects of Renewal by Anderson . Last year when we bought our house, we had a door-to-door salesman come and try to sell the consultation appointment. We had set up the appointment and then we get a call last minute that the consultant could not make it out to do the quote. So then we reset the appointment and the next time they didn't call or let us know anything and just don't show up. When I called and said what is going on and that nobody showed up, the lady didn't really apologize but instead just said, "there wasn't anyone available that night so we need to reschedule." At that point, I was just irritated and said, never mind I don't wanna reschedule with you and I don't want to ever use your company. Well fast forward to a couple weeks ago. A really nice guy came by that works for renewal and I honestly just really liked the guy and his personality so I said why not. We need to get my son's window replaced anyway because it's it's breaking down and we should at least know our options. Well, the consultative agent showed up to give us a quote. The initial sales person told me I was probably looking at about $2500 for the window which I thought wasn't bad. Boy was he wrong. They quoted us over $8000 for a medium window and two small accent windows since it's a three part window in my son's room. Then, to hard sell me, he tries to tell me that my discount of 25% that they have "never done before" (Riiiight, and I was born last night) would only be good if we made the decision tonight and started paying for them within 30 days! Well, it gets better! They wouldn't even be able to install them until 4-6 months later. I was like forget it then for sure. He was not happy leaving without a sale, but tough crap. What a complete rip off. NO WAY! The worst. If i could give zero stars I would. I went to a presentation for Renewal by Andersen last week. I made it very clear that I lived in a renovated 1891 Historic property. They offered a substantial discount for attending the presentation. I told them that I was primarily interested in a storm door, and was also looking into replacing 20 or 25 windows for my property. We set an appointment, and later confirmed the appointment and discussed the details, again. Then today, I am waiting for them to show up and nothing. So, I called them and they said they cancelled the appointment because the property is "historic". Even though I did a complete renovation of the home, and I installed all the windows that I wanted to replace. They decided to cancel the appointment without letting me know. They were apologetic and frankly pathetic. This is unacceptable behavior from a nationally recognized company. I would never work with this company, they are blatantly unprofessional. read more

The slimiest most dishonest salesperson I've ever encountered. I know the product is excellent. But during his 2 hour in-home consultation, which I only agreed to so they'd stop calling me from multiple disguised phone numbers, he realized I wasn't ready to make a purchase. I never intended to make a purchase. Steven told me he doesn't make commission, nor does anyone with that company. That was lie #1. He told me I had black mold in all my windows to scare me into a purchase. That was the only reason I agreed to put a deposit down for a few windows, as he told me, if I replaced all my operable windows and a set of french doors on my main floor (~1,350sq ft) it would be $128,000 using his discounted price. I had my entire home professionally tested for black mold. No black mold except in my broken kitchen sink garbage disposal. When I attempted to contact Steven to cancel the purchase after getting the mold results back, he was conveniently "out of town" for 2 weeks during my cancelation time frame and conveniently back in town 10 minutes prior to the installation specialist (who was wondeful) arriving at my front door. And yes, I called Renewal but couldn't be helped since the salesperson was "unavailable". Steven also lied about residential building codes pertaining to tempered glass to make more money, which I only found out about when the installation specialist told me the truth. I did not need tempered glass, per code, but Steven told me I was legally required to get it. Steven lied about glazing options, as in, he gave me none and automatically chose the glazing option with the highest price point. He didn't tell me I had options for exterior french door active and passive panels. He didn't even tell me I had various "series options" for any windows or doors. Am I a hot mess due to grief from a death and inheriting a house I never wanted, absolutely. But Steven took complete advantage of that fact using scare tactics and by "selecting" everything for me while telling me that was my only option because my windows and doors were unique. B.S. They are not unique; they fall under "standard". He said multiple people in my neighborhood had used Renewal to replace windows. I asked, and not a single home in my HOA has used Renewal. The list of Steven's b.s. goes on and on. Disgusting and manipulative. I don't care how good Renewal windows are at this point; I'd pay them, not for their windows, but just to keep Steven, 50 yards away from my home at all times. read more

A week or so later, the measurement specialist (Cheston) arrived and was also a stellar professional. I walked through with him as he took the detailed measurements, and he was very generous in answering all sorts of questions that I had. He gave me an estimate for the manufacture time for our custom order. The manufacturing was completed earlier than estimated, and the installation crew arrived on time and completed the job in under two days with zero issues. Jonathan (lead installer) was very helpful and courteous. Best part: the doors and windows are beautiful and well-constructed, exceeding our expectations. The door was broken when they installed it and they damaged the stucco on my house.. It took over 7 months to speak to someone and they told me the door was in, but they forgot to reschedule. It took 2 more months to get an install date. When they came, they scratched my new hardwood floor with the door and then told me the wrong door was ordered so they'd have to come back AGAIN. 2 more months go by and then THEY finally call to schedule the replacement which will take another 2 months. Buyer beware, especially if you're elderly! My 79 year old parents live in southwestern Colorado. They had some work done with Andersen back in 2019 and were satisfied with their new windows. On June 12th 2023 however, my father said they were approached by their local salesman and were "hard sold" for a new door. My father stated that he didn't understand why they needed a new door and felt that their salesman, Carroll, was a "shyster", but he felt that Carroll had always held a certain sway with my mother, and that my mother was "completely taken in" by him and his sales tactics. My father, being both indulgent of my mother and ignorant of their finances (since my mom always did the books) caved and signed the contract with her for a new door in spite of his grave reservations and the fact that they are on a fixed income with no assets beyond their social security and their house. The total cost for the new door was a whopping $12,753, and they were required to pay $4250.00 up front, with the other 2/3 to be paid over the next 4-5 months. The door was scheduled to be delivered in October-November of 2023. Fast forward to July 20th, 2023. My, and my parents lives changed forever when my mother had a fall and went to the ER. They discovered evidence of dementia which rapidly progressed as soon as my mother was in the hospital. In the span of a few hours she went from very confused and forgetful into being in the late stages and is now in long term memory care. I only discovered the door when I became their power of attorney and was sorting through their finances. I called to not only cancel the door, but to try and get my parents' money back as we'd since discovered evidence that my mother had been slipping for some time and was not legally (mentally) competent to sign the contract. Because of my mother's emergency and now facing the costs of long term memory care for her, we are liquidating the house to pay for her care. When I called Carroll Campbell, I explained the situation to him and informed him that we would be canceling the order and that we would like the deposit of $4250.00 back. He explained that that was a problem because the door was scheduled to be delivered the next week (unsure if this was the truth as the contract states that the door wouldn't be ready until Oct or Nov 23, and this fact was verified by my father and the contract) He also explained that even for cancellation, the contract stated that a 30% fee would be assessed for cancellation as per the contract and that my parents would owe more money in order to cancel. (A fact that I later verified is untrue, as the total listed on the contract for the door is $12,753 and that the down payment they made already exceeded the 30% fee) He stated that he was in a "real pickle" because he just didn't know how we could resolve this. He also informed me that even if we are going to sell the house, a new door would increase the value of the property so maybe we should go forward with the installation. I denied this and reasserted that we need every penny to assure my mother receives the care she needs and that we can find acceptable accommodations for my father once we sell his house, and reasserted that my mother was not legally competent to make the decision and sign the contract at the time it was signed. He stated that when she signed, she'd seemed "fine to him". He informed me that he would have to "talk to his manager and see what could be done". Later that afternoon I received a call from the Andersen call center saying that the new door would be delivered the next week, which I again informed them that we would not be taking delivery and to cancel the order. She said she wasn't informed of that, and that she'd make a note for the local salesman to call us. Over the course of a few days, I exchanged calls with Carroll, and each time he pressed me harder and harder to just accept delivery of the door, and that the door would add value to my parents' home for the sale, and the cost could be recovered then. Each time I told him no again. He finally connected me with his supervisor, Phil Sanchez, who told me that they could give a partial refund of $1061.75, but that they would need to keep the rest for "late cancelation", and again he pressured me to just install the door, stating that doing so would "make everyone whole legally". I denied again, I was then told that his salesman said she "seemed fine" and that if I could get a doctor's note that stated exactly when her decline began they could give a full refund. I have since received the partial refund. I have also filed a complaint with the Colorado State Department of Consumer Affairs. All they had to do was have a heart and do the right thing. But they decided to make the hardest and most gut wrenching moments of our lives even worse, all for $3188.25 and a quota met. read more

This is my 3rd phase of RBA windows/doors on home. Round one we had brick mould installed as exterior trim. Looks great. 2nd phase was more windows. Requested brick mould, but didn't get it. 3rd phase was a sliding door requested brick mould again. Didn't get it. Now we have mismatched trim. I don't know why this is so difficult. Naturally, nothing in contract to fall back on. READ your contract and make sure of what you're ordering. For the price, things should go smoothly. On top of that, one day before measurement the rep came back with request for additional money because they forgot to add inspection fees. I said no, as we already had a contract. My husband and I have had 2 encounters with this company and neither have been great. The first round was last year when a door-to-door rep suckered us into setting up an appointment for someone to come look at what should get replaced. The rep that showed up was visibly upset that both my husband and I could not be there for the whole appointment. He started out friendly and then became rude as I unexpectedly got called into work. He left without finishing his assessment and we never heard back from them to setup another appointment - which was fine by us! The second encounter was quite recent. They sent another door-to-door rep out that wanted us to setup a tentative appointment, which we tried telling him our schedules don't match and would be hard to do. He insisted and put our name on a day and said we would get a call to confirm. We did get that call - and a few more - in which my husband expressed that we couldn't make that "appointment" work and wanted to cancel. The representative my husband talked to did not take no for an answer and they have been calling my husband and I for days now leaving messages about a new appointment. These windows are highly overrated by their company. We had all new windows and doors installed in October 2022. Our house has been colder than EVER through the 2022-2023 winter season. I am SO disappointed!! There is such a notable difference between our old windows and the Anderson windows. They touted how the windows have the best insulated value. These windows are colder and draftier than our old windows!!! I don't think they were installed right and they lose heat and are drafty around the trim. Their commercial says "there is nothing worse than being cold in your own home" and is that so true. I called customer service and I was told that a cold wall around the window is typical. We have been jaded by some passt experiences with contractors and they did what they said they were going to do. Seamless installation, no mess left behind, professional crew on-site all day. A 6,000 dollar window they put in has failed. Inasmuch as it is colder and draftier than the window they took out. They came out on a cold day and acknowledged it was cold to the touch, colder than it should be. Months have gone by and they have not offered a solution nor have they replaced the window. Company that claims to have a good warranty does not honor it. Renewal by Andersen does not stand behind its work. I wish I could rate 0 stars. read more

Very disappointed in customer service for warranty work. Our window has become difficult to open after 4 years. When we called for warranty service they told us we would have to pay $65 and wait 2 months to have someone come out to look at it! This is a window we need to open and close all summer long so their neglect is very disturbing. This is not the warranty that we paid a large amount of money for with this company. We will stay away from using Andersen for future window replacements. read more

We ordered a door(s), came with wrong keys. We tried numerous times to get this resolved with the sales rep, he disappeared. Then when we reached service, they told us to go to a locksmith and have them take care of it. Really? You spend $6,000 on doors and get this kind of response. They installed the wrong doors, and that is our problem? Then when calling the company we could not get through. Change this to RENEWAL BY SCAM! read more
