I had an installation of several windows completed yesterday. I couldn't have had a better experience. The windows, of course, are great. I can already feel the difference in the house. Our installers, Shane & Mike were fantastic. Arrived on time, were very courteous, and went about their job with a fervor. They were obviously very experienced and competent. When they were done, they went over everything with us, and when they left, with the exception of the windows, it was like they were never here, the cleanup was complete. I will be having more windows replaced in the future and, even if I have to wait, I will definitely request Shane & Mike be the installation crew. I must add that the entire situation, from the sales rep, Andrew Pras, the office staff, through to completion was very pleasant, informative and comfortable. read more

I had previously have Home Depot come in for a quote on changing a pair of broken windows. The quote they provided was 4.5k for a pair of windows Low-E4 SmartSun HeatLock with frame, labor, and no tax included. The windows were made by Andersen. Then the next day I had Renewal By Andersen come to give me a quote and the quote on the same windows and material was approx 8.5k. Same material, same qty, frame, labor, not tax, etc. The seller was trying to up-sell me with features that I didn't need. And he showed me couple of samples trying to show by should we do it with them and that why to choose low-E4 and stuff. He used a heat meter and a heat source and couple of glass material in between to show how the glasses would insulate the heat and lower the bill during the seasons. Then I took the heat meter and walked outside to show that it wont get that hot except when you are near the sun and the seller tried to change the convo to another direction. Then he tried to pressure me to make decision right away to get 5% more in discount. The seller was also trying to persuade me to choose them and not to do more homework after meeting him. I hate those sales tactics, especially having done the homework beforehand... Also, the seller and I went through outside walkthrough and he pointed me that all the vinyls are from heat expansion and dissipation from the wall to the vinyls. In my mind they are more like wear and tear and a change in tape should be able to do the job just fine. And the seller kept up-selling me their services. From that point on, it made me realize they were not honest at all and shouldn't use their services... The next day I called Andersen, which is their parent company and inquired on the sashes and they told me that even though they are their parent company, Renewal By Andersen makes different type of windows and not the same as Andersen. And the seller didn't disclose this but instead said their windows are made by Andersen, and neither they recommended to obtain the sashes replacement. Having explore all the options with all the parties, the best option would be to buy replacement directly from Andersen themselves and if you are handy then do the changes yourselves... Definitely NOT recommend Renewal by Andersen, and would recommend to do your homework thoroughly ahead of time and consult with other alternatives like: Home Depot, Andersen, and other before moving forward. I had an appointment on Saturday to get an estimate on replacing four windows, two in the bedroom one is very small and two in the bathroom. I thought the quote should be around $2000. The quote was $12,000. I understand that they use composite and not vinyl. I understand that their installers are certified however I don't know how they justify three thousand dollars per window. The sales person was annoyed with me when I told him I wasn't interested and he pointed out some of the windows in my house that I didn't want replaced are vinyl and I said yes, they are great no draft they work perfectly. I'm going to try Home Depot and even if I go with composite windows by Anderson, I believe it's going to be a lot less money than $12,000. read more

Later, they tried to add around an extra $1,000 because they supposedly measured the door an inch off or so. This didn't make sense and felt like a bait-and-switch tactic. Renewal by Anderson has done it again. Do you believe in coincidences I don't ,After waiting 7 months to have a defective window repaired. The very next day I receive an email saying we owe $299 for the town permit, guess it took them that long to figure it out. After questioning the bill I received another email stating you now owe $629 and pay as soon as possible. If this is the way they treat a disabled legally blind veteran living on a fixed income I would say if you are contemplating using renewable by Anderson RUN don't walk as fast as can away from them. Signed up for a meeting with an Anderson Renewal representative for a quote on replacing a picture window with one adjoining double hung window on each side. After a 45 minute presentation on why I should use Anderson Renewal, a price finally arrived. $7400. for the job. Red flag number one. That was for the windows and installation. They don't give you a breakdown of the products and installation. Red flag number two. This price is only good for one day! Red flag number three. This is a thinly disguised high pressure sale. Buyer beware! Since then I have gotten quotes that are half to one third the price depending on the widow chosen. I had this company replace 10 windows back in 2018. I paid an average of $1400 per window which I thought was fair. Flash forward to 2024 and they now want close to $2800 per window. Had Home Depot quote the same windows - Andersen 400 series with the same features and their quote came in at $14,000 less than Renewal by Andersen. You can literally get the same windows in a big box retailer for a lot less. Your local hardware store probably can also order these same windows. Buy from anyone else other than these jokers. I called 800 number and scheduled appointment to have two windows replaced. Initially they set a time, then wanted to confirm the visit would take 60-90 minutes which I thought a bit much. At the appointed time Pierre arrived and was personable and seemed experienced. He measured the two casement kitchen windows 38 x 28 and 38x 23. He then gave me the guaranteed 12 month price of $12,000.. I said you must mean $1,200. each? No, he said I had to understand Andersen is a quality product and that is the 12 month price...there is also a same day and a two week price. I told him Home Depot has the window at about $750 each. Had 4 living room windows replaced. One of the replacements did not open and installer failed to check operation before leaving. A trim piece was not installed properly and soon loosed. Yes the price was guaranteed as long as it wasn't the discounted price. The orginal price was almost $10,000 for one window, to be exact it was 9,600 The discounted price was 8000 and some change which was way too expensive and I told him that from the beginning,then came the pitch of the 0% financing for the first 6 months , than 9.9% interest, which is ridiculous and the interest was all upfront for the first six months which he neglected to tell me until I asked him. I asked for the same type of windows that I have, he said those were the most expensive type of window and wanted me to purchase a slider and didn't give me a price for what I asked for, none the less I feel they have a good window but not willing to pay that much money considering I'm retiring and not sure if I'll live the rest of my life in this home. 1) Renewal by Anderson doesn't show up on time. 2) Renewal by Anderson doesn't provide correct instructions for the homeowner. 3) Renewal by Anderson cannot measure correctly. 4) Renewal by Anderson cannot install moulding correctly. I work from home and can't "stand-by" waiting for a crew to show up late. I had asked what had to be done prepping for their arrival and I removed all window coverings and shades and anything within 3 feet of the windows. Pets were secured. I was told nothing on the OUTSIDE had to be removed. Well I had to remove the 3 flower boxes from the OUTSIDE of the front windows. Two different people from Renewal by Anderson measured the windows but the oak moulding was incorrect. Take a look at the photos of when they finally installed the oak moulding. Here's an update to my original review: After leaving some negative reviews on social media I finally received a response from Renewal by Anderson. After some further review by the company they sent a manager out to view our issues and to take some more pictures. 5 days later I got word that they would come to fix some of our issues regarding the installation and in fact they did send someone over and they did make good on some of those issues. Unfortunately when it came to the uneven joints on the two sliding doors they couldn't fix them nor could they guarantee that they would be any better if two more were produced for us so instead they gave us a refund of 10% of the purchase price. I'm neither saying you should or should not use them, rather I'm saying you should be aware of how things might work out for you. read more

It did not go for me beyond the visit of the salesguy called "design consultant". I wanted to replace a couple of French doors of standard size, and since I have Andersen all around the house I called up Renewal by Andersen. I was shocked by the quote, some $21K. HD, Lowes and my local handyman provide French door installation for about $1K, and the doors go for about $2-3K. The weird sales tactics of "buy now" was even more shocking as if I was on a used car lot. The salesguy did not provide a breakdown of labor and parts, which was very strange. As a justification of the price 2.5x the market, he showed the installation 34-page brochure for Andersen doors, which was not convincing at all since half of it is French translation, and the brochures for any other brand are the same. I ended up buying replacement door panels from Andersen for about $1K, and the webchat person was perfect there helping find the exact product I needed. read more

I have had a terrible experience with the Renewal By Andersen factory. I originally bound a contract for a window installation at the beginning of March. I heard at the time that expected installation was to be end of May. At the end of May, I learned that the factory had in fact rejected the design. After weeks of trying to get a new design in place, I received an install date of August 5. I just learned this morning that the factory's delivery day will now be September 5th. I am beyond frustrated. I understood that Andersen charged more for "white glove service". My experience so far has been nothing but red tape a bureaucratic ping pong. read more

Renewal by Andersen offers a very deceptive marketing and pricing strategy that fails to reflect on what they actually offer. The windows are incredibly expensive, but they justify the cost by highlighting their warranty and service. However, the service has been absolutely abysmal and they are unresponsive to my repeated requests. The salesperson (aka "design specialist") who initially came to my house (Andrew S) promised impeccable service and said he would be present in the project from start to finish. However, he disappeared as soon as we signed the contract and provided our deposit. We purchased 21 double-pane windows (totaling more than $49,000), yet the service has been the worst I have experienced in the home renovation sector (which is saying a lot!). Our 21 windows were replaced in April 2022 but they have yet to complete the installation. They replaced windows in our 1906 house, which means that the window trim was very old and in terrible shape (see pics). Nevertheless, they reused our old window trim rather than replacing it with new trim. Not only did it look atrocious, it also violated what they said they would do (replace the trim and window). I requested that they return and replace the trim with new wood and they returned. However, they partially completed the job (see pics) and have not been back. It's now December 2022 (7 months later) and we still have horrific looking trim or missing trim. I have called and emailed them countless times, but the job remains undone and looks like the pics you see. The company sends repeated "bot" texts to inform me that there's a delay in the supply chain for the window trim. In terms of the quality of materials, some of the handles on the windows randomly fall off and easily come off. Today I emailed the corporate office and tomorrow I'll call to follow up. I have spoken to many neighbors and to contractors about my problem, and they have all warned me about Renewal by Andersen and told me that they severely overprice their windows. I wish I had known what I know now. For that reason, I am writing a review to warn other naive homeowners about the terrible service. Buyer beware. read more

This is, by far, the worst company I have ever had the great misfortune of dealing with. In my entire life, I have never experienced a worse customer service experience. I bought A sliding glass door. Do yourself a favor - never buy from this company no matter what. First, their prices are so much higher than any of their competitors. I was convinced by the salesperson that it was worth it because of their beginning to end customer service experience - they build the door to your customization, install it, and all the rest. Well, after waiting 7 weeks for the door... they installed the wrong door. We didn't know it until they had ripped out our current one, that the one they were installing was wrong, and then they initially argued it was right! Newsflash - it wasn't. The door they installed was much cheaper quality, with less features. So, ok, tried to get customer service... it took an uncountable number of calls to get any help. When we finally did, they said it would be another 6-8 weeks for a new door. When asked how this happened, they just said, "who knows?". Then, we needed to reschedule the 2nd installation, and again, could not get anyone on the phone. We finally did reschedule, but they called after the initial second date to ask how the installation went (it didn't!). They are finally installing the door today, almost 4 months after we ordered it. It is taking forever, and it is still missing a feature we paid for. Never once have we been offered any kind of recompense for the trouble, not even an apology. If you are thinking of Renewal by Andersen, run screaming in the other direction. This is the worst home improvement company in the ENTIRE world. I would give them minus five stars if I could. Awful. read more

We had a front door installed and although it was expensive and took 5 weeks to get it installed we were initially pleased. The installers did a good job and cleaned up after themselves. However, when measuring to get a storm door we realized they installed the wrong size door which would require a custom storm door. The company offered to give us a storm door rather than replace the door. Supposedly, the order went in almost 2 months ago and still we have no storm door! Nobody seems to know the status of our order which has already been paid in full. Customer service will not return phone calls and no one accepts responsibility. The pricing seems to be way above the standard..even compared to the top brands. The response from Anderson always seems the same. Something like you can't compare brands..we are the best period. Well I got a quote for a screen door $3000... Similar high quality doors can be purchased and installed for about $700. I am waiting for the standard response from Anderson. read more

We hired Andersen Renewal in Cranford, NJ to install 17 replacement windows in our home. We unfortunately trusted them to include everything they said they would in the contract, that you sign on an ipad at the in person meeting, and they didn't. They verbally tell you everything that is included, and then ask you to sign. They had promised their better Tru Scene screens on all the windows, but when they installed everything, they only put that screen on the kitchen window. I did make the mistake of not making sure the Tru-Scene screens were in the written contract. So much for integrity and delivering what was promised. There were also a number of mistakes through out the process, and they ended up firing the representative that came to our home. He gave us a price for the 17 windows and when they came back for the second time, suddenly the price was significantly higher. He made the mistake of telling us all 17 windows were included in the price, and we later determined, he forgot to include the kitchen window. So her verbally stated all 17 were included, but the total was originally based on 16 windows. When I spoke with the manager, Dan Maus regarding the change in price, he literally said it was impossible for them to make a mistake! They ended up giving a discount for the kitchen window they accidentally left out of the price. They left debris afterwards, but came back another time to clean it up after I called them about it. They gave a price for a Provia back door, which we were able to get for literally thousands less! They said if we proceeded with the door, they would consider a few screens, which they had promised and not delivered with the order for the windows!
