Great service, especially in a small town! Had brake issues while on vacation and they were able to get in a safe condition until we were able to make it home. Very friendly team that came highly recommended by local folks we talked to - now we know why! read more

In all my trips to Lake City, nothing ever broke on what I was driving--until last week. My 4x4 got stuck in 4Lo on the morning we had a 4.5 hour drive back to Denver. 35mph for 257 miles would take a little too long, never mind what it'd do to my gearbox. Rene was kind enough to take a look and put us back on the road in short order. Quick fix! The feeling of relief that swept over me was priceless. His fee was shockingly low. Thank you! read more

The tire pressure stem valve blew out coming down the pass and Rene's garage worked us in quickly and had us fixed up safely with high pressure values set on both tires. Thanks for great service read more

Had a flat. He opened his shop and fixed it. You couldn't ask for better service or a nicer guy.

We had a flat tire while towing our 5th wheel near Lake City. We called Rene's Garage and they quickly worked us in and fixed our tire. Great service. read more

I was camping outside Lake City last week when my Ford F150 stalled on numerous occasions while going to a trailhead. After identifying Rene's Garage online, I called and Rene told me to come on in. I limped back into town and the truck was determined to need a new throttle body. I thought that I was screwed being so isolated and having a trailer to pull. But, Rene assured me that he could have a new throttle body shipped in by 10:00 the next morning and installed by noon. And that is exactly how it went down. I was so impressed with the service and communication that I received and would recommend his garage to anyone. Thanks! read more

I could do my usual pros and cons list like I do for all reviews but Rene doesn't need that. He is just a great guy who is very good at his job. Completely saved our ass when we got a flat in the middle of nowhere and went out of his way, even when his garage was closed, to help us out. He is a good man who is great at his craft. You can't go wrong bringing your vehicle to his garage. read more

Rene's Garage - The culprit. - Auto Repair Near Me - Lake City, Colorado

Had a screw in our tire that wasn't realized until 4:30pm. We were planning on heading out of town early the next morning so we needed a quick fix. Called Rene to see if he could squeeze us in and he did so with a smile! Amazing service for small town Lake City! read more

I had a flat tire while camping about 40 miles away and one of the locals recomended Renee's to get it fixed. I drove up thereand dropped it off and while I ran an errand at the other end of town, his mechanic fixed while I was gone and mounted it when I returned. The whole repair time was less than an hour. I was delighted as I was there from Denver and didn't want to spend all day to get it fixed. Renee and his entire staff were very pleasant to work with and for a fair price. read more

We lost our brake booster somewhere around Trinidad but made it to Alamosa. After dealing with lots of garages in Alamosa with no responsiveness, we drive on to Lake City. Rene saved our vacation. He knows most people in Lake City in the summer are on holiday and works his schedule around that. Great communication and setting clear expectations. He knows most people are desperate for brake jobs but is very fair and transparent. Highly recommend. read more

The brakes on my RV overheated on the way down Slumgullion Pass. In Lake City I stopped by a real estate office and the nicest person, Daniel, referred me to Rene's Garage. I called and Rene said to bring my rig by. He immediately examined all 4 brakes on my RV, said they had been pretty hot but not burned up (whew!), diagnosed a brake bleed and new fluid was needed, which he did on the spot (even though his garage had lots of cars to work on). I feel pretty fortunate to have found Rene and be able to continue my trip. He even guided me on how to best navigate through the mountains to not overheat my brakes again, along with having my brakes looked at again when I returned from my trip. Thank you Rene!!!! read more

Was so happy to have found his add in the Lake City Mai And Business Directory. I don't have to drive all the way back to Denver with my window down and I don't have to listen to the plastic whipping around. They are reasonable, hard working and got me back in the road with short notice. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! read more

We cake in here after going to engineers pass after we broke our brake line on our daughters Jeep and he and his wife were very sweet and it was very affordable they didn't try to rob us blind like most mechanic shops they were very professional and they took care of us in a very timely fashion we would recommend every one to this shop thanks a lot Renee and Belinda for all of your help and getting us back to enjoying our trip to Colorado read more

I took my Jeep to the dealership 4 times with the same symptoms; they replaced camshaft sensors and even the camshaft themselves; 10 miles after I left (for the 4th time) the symptoms returned. It took Rene 30 minutes of troubleshooting to find the real issue - a almost broken wire on the same camshaft sensor the dealership replaced, twice! This guy knows his stuff! He acomodated me on a holiday while I was passing through town! I can't say enough good things about the service I received! read more

We are from out of town and part of our vacation included going through Engineer Pass from Ouray. We noticed a rattle that started on our 4-runner that wasn't there previously. We immediately wanted to check it out because we were leaving soon and were worried that we had done some major damage while on the mountain trails. The other mechanic shop was slammed and recommended Rene's and we are definitely glad they did (especially after their poor review!). They had us in within 5 minutes on a Friday afternoon, was able to diagnose the simple problem and fix it within 20ish minutes. They were very friendly and extremely knowledgable, and were very reasonable in their charges (can't beat $30 bucks for our peace of mind!). Thanks Rene! read more

Rene saved my vacation. Looked for ways to save me money and get me back 4wheeling as soon as possible. Treated me like family. Will definitely have him on speed dial next time I'm in the area. read more

He tried to repair a flat tire and failed stating that the tire was irreparable needed to be replaced. He charged $40. Later in Alamosa Jim's permanently repaired the same tire for $10 saying the initial repair was faulty. read more
