We recently started bringing our dog to Renees. It took 2 visits before the haircut was perfect, so have a little patience. To help the trimmer have an easier job, we hold our pups paws at home. That way they are less fidgety during nail trimming. We also brush her coat regularly so she is use to the little pulls that come with grooming a dog. I am always impressed with the level of customer service and consistency of the cut, now that we've gotten it dialed in. Renees is quick, efficient, and my dog seems to love the staff. I am SO upset right now! If you love your pets...do NOT bring them to Renee's Pet Grooming Salon at 117 Oakridge Drive in Mountville, PA! I took our 15 year old Yorkie to get groomed there this morning, and not only did he get a shoddy haircut...he was injured! Unfortunately, we didn't notice the injury when we first picked him up, because they covered it with a bandana...but as soon as we noticed it, we went back to the shoppe to speak with the owner, Renee Koutroulakis. She denied that our dog was mistreatd or harmed by her staff, and claimed that she had no idea what happened. As you can see in the attached photos...this isn't a small injury. Even our veterinarian confirmed that this is indeed a bruise, and not irritation from grooming tools. These people hurt my furbaby, didn't notify us of the injury/incident during pickup, then tried to cover it up and act like they didn't know what happened. It is visibly clear that the groomer either abused my dog or neglected him while he was in their care. Either way, my poor baby was hurt by someone at this location and I'm heartbroken because I have no idea what happened to him. Also, when I dropped off my dog, I did explain that he is a senior pet and he needs a little extra care (he has skin tags and his tongue sticks out the side of his mouth due to having had his teeth removed). I also advised them that I had a phone number change, so they should call my new number when he was ready to be picked up. Well, clearly our dog was not handled with care, AND they still called my old number when he was done. I had to call them to ask if he was ready to be picked up. I wish I would have read the review left on the BBB, and the others left on Google that points out the poor quality of care at this facility. Due to COVID, clients are not allowed to enter their facility...so who knows what's really going on in there with our pets. Our dog is a senior dog and always well behaved. He didn't deserve this, and I will never...EVER bring him back there. read more

This was my first time using Renee's. Pros: Our dog didn't smell like a cologne factory. They trimmed him the way I asked. Cons: Music seemed pretty loud. At pick up, I heard someone in the back yelling at a dog or cat to "stop moving, hold still, don't do that again" Our dogs face trim was very lopsided. I've waited months to post this, but after reading a recent review about their dog being injured, I had to post. I took my 2.5 year old golden retriever there for a grooming several months ago. I told them beforehand that she had elbow dysplasia and had never been to a groomer before. When I picked her up, the young man who greeted me said she had been a "hot mess". But then tried to book another appointment. I actually felt bad for the groomer. But. That evening she could barely walk. Her eyeballs were bright red where they should have been white. A vet visit confirmed blunt trauma. It involved several vet visits and a whole lot of money. Please don't take your pets there if you love them. read more

Glad my neighbor recommended them over a year ago now. I always notice the other pets being groomed too and they're normally always calm. So I bring my dog milo who is a very calm guy, he does not do cages and I decided to stay because I always do! Milo has gotten a grooming every 3 months for the past 5 years of his life he was yelping in terror from Renee's. Let's start off with if your dog has moles they will just cut straight through them the poor dog infront of me was bleeding everywhere. My dogs ears still have wax in them, his head looks like an egg the left side of his face is way off from the other (his hair cut is choppy and misshaped.) his nails look choppy and uneven like half are cut and half are not. There's 4 cracks!! Down his nails! So he started yelping a lot (never before has he yelped at the groomers ) and I'm like would you like me to help you hold his head she said most definitely not!! And then he's screaming crying I'm like wtf? So then she asked a guy who worked there to hold his head? I'm like uhhh okay? And there he goes screaming in pain! Wonder how they bathe him, cut him and all? But my dog left with a dirty face and nails and they didn't dremel them?! I saw all the other dogs get it? Why do I pay the same price of 61+tip for my dog not to get Dremel? My dog is now at home limping from his chipped cracked nails and still leaves a salon with a dirty face.. and dirty waxy ears.. hmm.. before I left the place the top of his head was worse and I asked hey could you like even his head? They nicked my dog & caused an infected wound. My other dog didn't look like her coat was cut or brushed at all. Will never go back!!!

First visit was today with our 14 year old Chow. They took their time and really did a great job. Priced just right and not expensive at all. Our dog can be difficult with the belly n nails. Both look great n they said the dog didn't even put up a fight. Only concern is our dog is older and pulling her on the leash to get her to follow them back. Probably not the best for her hips n joints. Could have been a little more gentle since its a senior dog. Overall very good job and we'll be back. read more

I suspect the high reviews may be from people who did not stay with their pets during the grooming. I have been here twice with my shi tzu for scheduled appointments & watched the whole process. The first time was good. The second time was chaos with too many animals at one time & constant stopping of pet care to answer the phone or to deal with a walk-in customer. Everyone's dog was left standing harnessed to the table at one time or another for varying periods of time while the groomer did something else. The staff need to concentrate on being with the animals & hire someone to exclusively do checkouts, scheduling & answer phones. The second appt resulted in an uneven cut. I cannot, as an animal lover, go back. read more

First time customer. Took our chow-corgie mix asked for a scissor cut. Our poor 9 year old was shaved to the pink of his skin. He looks sickly and we are just so upset about it. Dogs need their hair for warmth and cooling. He has none. We need to watch that he does not get sun burned. Looks like a mad person did this. We will never go back read more

we love Renee's pet grooming! I've been taking my 2 dogs (poodle mixes) there for a couples years now. I can usually get an appointment within a week of calling and my dogs always look and smell great. My only complaint is their nail cutting isn't great, half the time I don't even notice a difference in the length of my dogs' nails, but I know that can be a tricky task. Her prices are GREAT- we usually spend $75 for a small and medium dog to get fully groomed (including a buzz and cut), much better than what we paid at Petsmart ($120+). We will continue to use her as long as she's available :) read more

Am 45 and was treated like a child, she insisted on giving my cat a bath, I told her I just wanted him shaved since I'm allergic to my cats and it's okay I have another appointment soon I don't really have time but I'm still gonna pay the Same Price, she kept arguing with me-- her customer--- the customer you don't shave a cat then give it a bath and then shave the cat down again and put the cat in the crate and get all the rest of the shavings all over in the crate then the cat comes home and gets the shavings all over the couches and rug . Argumentive. Then she tells me go over there and sit down, Go sit down , put the cat in a crate or you can sit over there on the couch and hold him, --boss me around WOW. then while she was shaving him I was across the room he was getting antsy with her so I said it's okay it's alright good boy , saying his name good job saying his name--- I got scolded for that !!and in the end she cut his whiskers !!!! she's a owner of the cat and dog grooming shop and she cut a cat's whiskers ??!!!!! then uses the excuse oh he must have been moving around when I was shaving him or cutting him, Yea Right That's why both sides of his whiskers are the same length!! IT was in the 90's that day , so before she FINALLY put him in the Crate I pulled out the blanket in the Crate thinking he would stay cooler without a blanket in there on the ride home waiting for air conditioning to cool down the truck "I believe" she quick threw a towel in there for him, Like this lady was the rudest ever, her having her own business WENT STRIAGHT TO HER HEAD. Oh, and there's a bench outside for people to wait for their pet to get done, Its all full of plants .I'm sorry but my Experience here made me one peoded person !!!Terrible. read more

I have used this place for a year now and have never had any problems. Today I took my cat, Milo to get her nails cut and was extremely upset with the way the lady was handling Milo. My cat was very upset because the music was loud and she was overwhelmed which, in turn made her a little squirmish. The way the lady pushed my cat to the mat and forcefully pulled her legs back made me so upset that I will never be returning ever again. Don't you know how to scruff a cats neck instead of twisting their legs back? I have never had this lady before and like I said, I normally have the nicest younger girls that know how to calm Milo down. But this older lady completely ruined this business for me and we will never return again. read more
