So I purchased a lot of Renee's seeds... My garden did by far the worst last year. None of the corn survived, Water melon one grew but not to its full potential & the rest did not even come up if that makes any sense. These seeds were more expensive and so not worth the money. If you are going to order from Renee's Garden, make sure you take a photo of your order on their website. I KNOW, but cannot prove, that I selected a certain type of bean, and received a different type. Since the photo on the seed packs are almost identical, when they sent the order confirmation with a small picture of the packet, I thought it was correct. (No, I didn't enlarge it so I could actually read the label on the package.) The written description on the confirmation does NOT include whether they are POLE (which I wanted) or BUSH (what I got). And to make matters worse, I paid $15 for 2nd day delivery! I have asked for a refund, but have been told that this is my fault. I caution you if you're going to order from these people. I won't be using them in the future. read more

With the crazy weather, extreme heat crossed with rain daily, it becomes a major challenge to grow anything in Northwest FL. Renee seeds seem to put up with the weather and keep producing cucumbers and green beans in piles. The tomato plants have tomatoes on vines with new branches 4 ft. off the ground. I will be planting the fall garden in August and can't wait for the seeds to arrive. read more

While Renee's sent me free of charge a 2nd packet of Purple Top Turnips when the first packet was sterile, it too didn't germinate. That was for 2024 season. I spent nearly $10 with shipping for Spanish Musica Early Pole Beans for 2025 and it too is sterile. The customer service was quick in responding but that doesn't help when my planting time is past. read more

Filet green beans had 100% germination! I have harvested about three gallons from one pack (hopefully a few more to come). I lightly steam them and they're the most flavorful green beans. I would recommend. read more

A bad seed. A wildflower mix packet showed red poppies and a mix of other flowers. What grew where I planted them looks more like indigenous weeds of a single variety, not a mix. No poppies. "Heirloom Morning Glory Mailbox Mix" packet shows blue and white blossoms but the vines that emerge have no buds or flowers at all. The Moonlight Climbing nasturtiums haven't bloomed. I seem to recall the same artwork on something called "Shepherd's Seeds" years ago and seeds in those packets that produced well. Renee's seeds don't measure up. They're a waste of time, more than that, a waste of an entire growing season. Bad seeds, bad news. Nice artwork on the seed packets, though. read more

I just placed my 4th order with Renee's seeds and couldn't be happier. My germination rate is high, I received same day response when contacting customer service by email, and my orders have come quickly. Yes, you will pay for shipping (they aren't a mega business), but there usually is a promotion on that helps offset that cost. Worth it! read more

I was wondering why my green onions would never grow ....( for two springs I've been using these seeds. I opened up the packet of seeds spilled some seeds out on accident and realize they were metal shards instead of actual seeds *see image... Green onion seed should be small black seeds..... what I'm looking at now are shiny metallic silver metal shards I'm definitely not going to purchase these again and I'm definitely going to return these seeds to Home Depot! Renee's Garden seeds are a scam!! Beware! The products they sell are 99% rice hull, and about 1% actual wildflower seeds. You think you're getting a good sized package of seeds, but there's hardly any actual seeds in there. It's all rice hulls. What a scam. There's way better products online or on Amazon where you actually receive seeds and not just rice hulls. Don't buy!!! read more

the germination rate was horrible. I bought $45 worth if seeds at almost $4 each. beautiful package but I only have a couple plants out of each. most of them were thin spindly plants. I did an entire packet os snap peas in 4 sowings. i coukd fit all of the pods in one hand. most of them never even sprouted. I tried 3-4 different methods and as many spots. I haven't planted out everything that I bought from Renee's Garden this year yet, but what I've planted thus far has had a decent germination rate, so no complaints there. What's really dragging this review down and is strongly inclining me not to order again in the future is how difficult it is to access my account on the Renee's Garden website. Whenever I try to log in, I'm prompted to fill out a captcha to prove I'm not a robot, which is fine. But 9 out of 10 times, I'm told that my answer was wrong and I need to do the captcha again. And again. And again. I get the need for security, but something's seriously messed up with the system. read more

Customer service is non-existent. I ordered and paid for some watermelon seeds. They replied back by email, after a week, that they were having supply chain issues. Supply chain issues? you are a seed company. OK, i thought and I waited a few weeks; still nothing. Then I submitted an email (because you can't get through on the phone and they won't call you back when you leave a message) to customer service asking for an update. No reply. No help. No update. Totally ignored. Now I have submitted an email asking to cancel and refund the order. Still no response. I am reviewing here because this is the only site I found that has reviews. I put alot of planning into my garden every year. I'm one of those types. I ordered seeds from quite a few places as well as scoured local nurseries for seeds to match my planned color theme. Soft pinks, purples, whites/creams. I even have pink sunflowers popping up. Was pleased when i found a climbing moonlight nasturtium packet as the cascading vine and soft yellow was exactly what i needed to cover large rocks on a few hillsides. Most of the seeds i planted did germinate but imagine my surprise when bright oranges and tangerine colored blooms started showing up a couple days ago. Looks like a common mounding type too, no cascading foliage this year either. I feel scammed, mislabeling seeds set for retail is false advertising. I will now be surprised if ANY of them were what i actually paid for. Really disappointed, will not purchase renee's again. read more

I seek out Renee's garden seeds each year because I like their thoughtful selection of varieties. I've had good luck with their packet mixtures and as a newer gardener, use them to learn about different kinds of vegetables. For example when I first grew tomatoes I got their assortment, watched what happened, and picked my favorite types as I learned. I have experienced some variation but there's also variation in the years in terms of weather, etc, so still learning about that. At the moment I'm starting cabbage, peppers, tomatoes and kale from Renee's seeds, and all are coming up fine. I also like supporting a local woman owner company. And I'm charmed by the packaging. This is a 4, not a 5 star review because of the variations in tomato seeds one year, and perhaps because I would like a bit more warning on some things that just are frankly difficult to grow--maybe a difficulty rating on the package (like some cookbook have) would be helpful in keeping my expectations realistic. One year I tried to grow leeks. The seeds came up great but I had read they're hard to grow and sure enough, none really matured. So maybe that or a referral "for more info on this variety" ... I called and told them and they tried to blame that on other websites that gave me the wrong information . I told them this info was from their website and I got so many excuses for why this happened. VERY bad customer service . Their packages have nice art to make you want to buy, but don't. I thought Renee's were good until this year. The germination rate is phenomenally terrible and when they do germinate the plants do not grow. The conditions are perfect (indoors under grow lights) or in a greenhouse. I am so disappointed. read more

I first ordered thyme seeds from Renee's Gardens some years ago. They didn't come up, so I let the company know, and they refunded my money. Then, I was very embarrassed when all the seeds came up about a month after my complaint. They may have taken a long time, but my thyme is now a thyme lawn and the plants are beautiful. I was very happy with the plants AND how this company handled a problem. I have seen the most beautiful giant poppies in a neighbor's yard, and those seeds came from Renee's Gardens. I also purchase these seeds at retail outlets with good results. I definitely plan to order again. read more

Renee's garden has the most wonderful selection of heirloom seeds. I absolutely love the Trombetts di Albenga Heirloom Summer Squash and I am not a fan on summer squash, but even your pickies child will absolutely love the tender and sweet squash. Before this year I had bought four packages of Renees Garden seeds and have never had a single plant come up from any of them. I do a lot of vegetable and herb gardening and don't have problems with seeds from any other company. I didn't ever want to say something bad about them without quantitative results from a seed test so this year I bought a package of Renees Garden chive seeds and chive seeds from Lockhart Seeds in Stockton, CA. Under identical conditions I put the same number (24) of seeds in damp paper towels and kept them at a warm temperature. In two days I already had 5 Lockhart seeds sprouting roots and no Renees seeds doing anything. I planted the Lockhart seeds in the ground. After 2 more days there were only 2 Renees seeds that had started to form roots. I know the only real proof is whether they form good plants, but based on past experience and the difference in the seeds this year I should never buy Renees seeds again. They are just a waste of time and money. read more
