I've played the course now twice, and I have to say that it's a pretty solid course. There is definitely an entertainment fee built into the greens fees, but that's to be expected with a "gimmick-based" course. But at least it's a pretty cool gimmick... First off, the staff at the course have been extremely courteous and friendly both times. They grab your bags at the bag-drop and throw them onto the cart for you as you stroll into the club house to pay your greens fees. The starter will ask if you've played there before, and then provide you with details on the course (even if you just told him it's not your first visit). The course itself is relatively well maintained, especially on the front 9. The greens are relatively consistent throughout the course, and the bunkers are generally well-maintained. The fairways were also fantastic, and the rough was just punishing enough. A few holes had some tired, beatdown spots, most notably the rough to the right side on holes 9 though 11. Don't head here thinking that you are going to recognize the majority of these holes from watching the Golf Channel. This has a lot to do with the fact that the holes are taken out of context. However, there are some absolutely recognizable holes, particularly the 13th, which replicated the 17th at TPC Sawgrass--the famed "island green." The Augusta National holes are easily the most well-maintained on the course. The other really recognizable hole would be the 15th, which replicated Oakmont's 3rd hole. Why is it recognizable? Because of the epic Church Pews bunker up the left side. A daunting site indeed. The cons for this course are minimal: At the turn, you're actually no where near the club house. The cart girl comes around infrequently, but there's a snack shack that you drive by three times. And sometimes the course unnecessarily employs the "cart path only" rule, which definitely slows play. Overall, it's a really fun course, the sign postings on each hole provide fun little history lessons, and it's well-kept. The course isn't actually too difficult, which can make the round more enjoyable for lesser skilled golfers. read more

Great course. Love the concept and can't wait to get back out there again to test my skills against some of the best holes in golf. So what if they're just remakes of the greatest holes in golf's history, I'm going to imagine that I was facing a gallery while staring down the Island Green of TPC Sawgrass. The course isn't too far a drive from DC and the rates were about par with many of the other courses in the region. My friends and I had a morning round so the pace was solid...in fact, don't think there was a moment when we had to wait on the tee box. Can't say the same for the group playing behind us...sorry. Since I'm sure to try to make it out again, I'll try to quicken up our pace and avoid being put on the clock. read more

Booked a hot deal for $26 a player thru Golfnow for some pre super bowl golf on 2/3/18. Me and my buddy arrived 45 minutes before our noon tee time and was allowed to start early. Tall, bald gentleman inside was welcoming, considerate and great in customer service. Not many golfers this day due to brisk temperatures floating around 39-40 degrees. The one group we did come across allowed us to play thru and we eventually finished round inside 3 hours. Greens were pretty hard and frozen most of the day. Hit me tee shot on island green to about 10 feet but bounced right off the back onto frozen pond. (I lost by 1, so that hole def had something to do with outcome) Cant blame golf course for frozen greens, I'm just a golf nut. After round, same gentleman came out to wipe down clubs (was internally bummed for not having any cash for tip) and offer us to come in to try out the cream of crab soup and chicken wings. The customer service is why I'll most likely visit Renditions again, but only when its warmer. read more

It is a challenging golf course replicating well known holes from TPG Sawgrass to Amen corner of Augusta National. Hit till your heart content. It is a golf country club service at a reasonable price if you can play hookie during Monday to Thursday. $54/18 holes including cart. The putting green is located behind the clubhouse and driving range by parking lot. If you have to entertain out of town guests or hang out with golf buddies, I suggest Mike's Crab house by south river in Riva, 15 minutes away. read more

I played here with a buddy on a late Sunday afternoon. We paid twilight greens fees and I was expecting a long, drawn-out afternoon of waiting 10 minutes between each shot. To my amazement, the course was relatively wide open. I'm not sure if this was a one-time fluke, or if the course manages to keep away some of the slack jawed yokels that tend to show up on Sunday afternoons. The course itself is a fun challenge. If your golf history buff, you'll appreciate the attempts to create major championship holes, especially Amen Corner. The course is in decent shape and the GPS carts are certainly an added bonus. All in all, a great place to play and well-priced experience. read more

As a marginally better than average golfer, nothing beats the fantasy of playing at the Masters, Carnoustie, TPC Sawgrass etc that this course provides! Reasonable pricing for well manacured course, attentive staff and GPS carts (included, holes are too far apart to allow walking unfortunately). Very Friendly staff and fellow golfers too. Despite the heat in the 90's, everyone seemed in a great mood. This course is probably most fun and best suited for low to mid handicappers. Would not recommend at all for beginning/slow golfers - there's not much point and the difficulty will cause you to slow up play and lessen the experience for others. Their marshal was actually on top of us ( this is a good thing to keep your rounds fast) despite our being 10 minutes ahead of pace, per what our cart said - so that was good to see. Only downside for me was: I wished they didn't have recently aerated/sanded greens; so putting was not a real accurate reflection of our score. (their greens are nearly as tough as they come already) But as a bonus, they made it up to us with TWO 2 for 1 passes for next time. Awesome!! Can't wait to go back and improve my score. On the back end, our first beers only cost .92 and .90 cents with their 'pay what you shot' special on the 19th hole. Lastly, wings were really good. Highly recommend!! read more

Played here today and came away with some impressions. Playing some of the signature holes from some of the world's most notable golf courses was a treat. The GPS on the carts was a huge bonus, and the price of $79 for a Saturday morning round was OK. The course, however, was not in the best condition. My friends and I had played at Queenstown Harbor's River course, and the course was immaculate despite intense heat that threatened to sear the grass. Renditions was OK, but there were also many dry patches of grass and even a few bald spots. The turn does not take you anywhere near the clubhouse, which must be why there is a "mid-course" concession stand after hole #5 and hole #12. I might return to bring some family members and out-of-town friends out to the course, but I don't know if I would include this course in my regular rotation. read more

Played the course 2 days after soaking rains. Despite a couple of plugged balls, the course was in wonderful shape. The greens were superb -- smooth and speedy. The bunkers were very well maintained. As usual, the staff was courteous and attentive. Very enjoyable golf experience. read more

This public course is in bad shape. Tee boxes were a wreck, fairways diseased, rough crab grass or bald. Only 6 or 7 greens were in good shape. At $90 per person, you still have to pay for practice balls. The carts were decent but they sent us out without sand. read more

Venue very nice. I went to a wedding yesterday there. Food was good. Sit down dinner of crab cake and stuffed chicken. If you have the wedding ceremony outside there make sure the officiant has a speaker- we could barely hear. And make sure there are no golfers in the area. There were two golfers on the green that were deliberately very loud and distracting to the ceremony. As much money as I'm sure it cost they could have kept the greens empty around the ceremony for 20 mins. read more

I have been waiting to play here for so long and did this weekend for my bachelor party. I was very surprised and disappointed with the conditions of the course. There were huge divots in every fairway, greens were super bumpy, and tee boxes were in rough shape. To pay so much to play here, I had a much higher expectation for this course. read more

Interesting idea. There is a rush playing famous holes, especially those from Augusta.

First the good part! The weather was perfect and my twosome played with one of the workers who just got off, he only had time for a few holes (ended up playing 11 holes), he made the round fun with his humor. Pace of play was not bad and the marshal kept the group in front moving along. Condition, condition, condition....not good! They had recently aerated and should inform the golfer when scheduling tee time. Fairway are in decent condtion but if you get off the fairways conditions are pretty sorry. The cart started dying around hole 12 and finally died completely on 16, I notified the clubhouse via the GPS and waited, finally had to call and talk to someone who stated, "are you sure it won't make it in". I've played here several times since it opened and always said this would be a great course once it matured but now believe management is not going to spend the money for that to happen, too bad. read more

I have organized a golf tournament the last four years at Renditions. First of all I cannot say enough about the staff. They are very helpful, accommodating to every need and just super nice. The food, layout and condition of the course is outstanding to host a golf tournament. Out tournament has been full or close to it every year with 135 to 144 golfers and we have never received a complaint about the course or staff. They just keep asking " when is the next tournament and we will be there". The golf course is just a pleasure to play and a lot of fun. Thanks Jacque, Billy and Steve for your support and hospitality which helps ensure our tournament continues to be a success. We will continue to come back. Pricey, however it is in perfect shape. Clubhouse has an upscale look and feel. Bar and outside patio are clean and inviting. The greens were tough but the ball rolled true. The staff here is some of the best in the area: courteous and going above and beyond to help 1 minor complaint: We were told to speed up one time despite the fact that it was cart path only. I understand why it was cart path only (the night before there was a huge storm and the course was wet) but it is impossible to play this course cart path only and not be slow. read more

Ive played this house a lot over the years. It used to be my home course. Ive since been traveling and playing a bunch of different courses. I played on 8/5/15 and the course looks awful! They are slowly loosing a few greens and the fairways are burnt up. Number 2, 13 & 17 par 3 greens are tore up. Looks like a lack of attention and water. Maybe a grass fungus? Defiantly not work the money anymore. Maybe a $30 course. Cmon guys, this used to be the place to play! read more

After reading some reviews, I was a bit skeptical. I was given 2 free rounds as a gift, and I was first scared to read that someone was denied because their pass was invalid 6 months after issue. Luckily, mine were fine, but that seems like bad business. My complaint was about pace of play...not in the usual sense. I shot a 114 and my dad (visiting from out of state) shot a 125. Needless to say, we take longer than usual. However, we finished in 4.5 hours, which, frankly is one of the faster rounds I've had in recent history. Despite this, by the 5th hole, we were approached by a course ranger who, with a seriously stern face, said, "You guys have to pick up the pace. You're already behind by 6 minutes!" SIX MINUTES!? Oh, and this on a Wednesday morning! They have GPS devices on the carts, and I'm pretty sure that they use them to check pace of play. This is supposed to be a unique course, and they have plaques with history of each hole at the tee boxes. We didn't even have to read them, nor time to enjoy the round. Fairways were great. Tee boxes and greens were mediocre. (Tee boxes were flat but spotty. Greens were mowed well, but are over-aerated, so the ball bounces around like Plinko on slower puts.) I won't be going back. Shooting a 114 is stressful enough without being reprimanded. read more

I attempted to play Renditions on Saturday May 21, 2011. Getting to the second tee box- there were 2 foursomes waiting for the green to clear. After 3 hours, we finally got through 9 holes. I had to leave after 4 hours, before playing the 12th hole. In the pro shop, they indicated that the "marshall is new" as an excuse, however, there was no marshall on the course. I asked for my money back and they gave me some receipt that says they did, but my bank account says otherwise. Now it's phone fights to get it rectified. Never again. read more

I had an awful experience at Renditions, the Marshalls were rude and were hurrying every shot we took. It seems the course is not laid out correctly because there we multiple tee boxes where there were 2 foursomes waiting to tee of before us. The Marshalls won't get off your ass and leave you alone. When you pay $75 to play a course you expect to be able to play in a timely manner and not be bothered or rushed by the staff. They are not accomodating and I would not recommend anyone to play this course. The course was in decent shape but not worth the money by a long shot. Due to the horrible layout it took us over 5 hours to complete the round and on the back nine I felt like just giving up it was so bad. STAY FAR AWAY FROM RENDITIONS. read more

Need to get this off my chest. We have golf group that of about 30 members that travels in the DC area each week and plays course all over the region. Last weekend we played Renditions. We had around four full groups and three golfers in the fifth. So it was a standard outing for us. When I get there one of the staff (who was pleasant and cordial like at most golf course pro shop. ) greeted me when I stepped up and handed over the credit card. He took my card and asked if I wanted a warm up bucket I said sure just a small one he punched the keys and came back with" That'll be $94 total." (which is WAY TOO HIGH) . I got a little sticker shock, but, rationalized to myself that this is price we pay to hang out with and shoot the breeze with the good guys in our group. It was then that I proceeded to ask the obligatory question? "What shape is the course is in?" Just as I heard the beep of the credit card confirmation. The gentleman says "Well we aerated the greens this past Monday and they are in the kind of shape you'd expect after five days of growth." That is when the record scratches and all the music stopped for me. "Wait a minute you just aerated the greens and you are charging me full price?" WTF? Yeah well we are handing out a 2 for 1 special to everybody who plays today." And that is supposed to make me feel better? You are "giving" me a coupon that will have me to drive all way back out to your course just so that I pay you guys again for a course that is already overrated and over priced. If you can afford to let someone have a 2 for 1 day? Why not just have an aeration price call it all good. Because truth be told I'm paying full price for substandard playing conditions and where is the justice in that situation? Made no sense to me then and makes no difference as I write this review. The greens were TERRIBLE in my opinion (IMO) There was sand everywhere they didn't roll true and were a pain ALL day and really took a lot of enjoyment out of the round. I'm not a negative person,but, this is just and unexceptionable policy on the part of the management and ownership. Its just wrong an should not be encouraged. The course as I said is WAY OVER PRICED. This is a $50 - $60 course and should in no way be considered upscale. It is average and that's it. I get the whole replica hole thing and I credit them for taking it on, its just not worth it. There are better maintained public courses in the area that have more bang for the buck. I will not be going back to use their 2 for 1 coupon (which expires in 30 days which is kind of a back handed marketing tool) and is let's face it really just another way to get additional $$ out of the golfer to secure more revenue for them. Which IMO would not be needed if they just did the honorable thing in just having slight price reduction to make the customer feel at least like they get it. They staff around the course were nice and courteous and the food at the 19th hole was pretty good. In the end I just will not support any course that makes earning a few extra $$ over the experience of the golfer when course maintenance affects such a large portion of the course. I'm going to recommend to our group that we never return to Renditions to play there and judging from the talk with the guys after the round will probably have some support. read more

Just played there yesterday with a few friends and we were all very disappointed by the poor overall condition of the course. It wasn't worth what we had to pay for it as we're all from Montgomery County and had to drive 50 mins to get to the course. The greens are worse than the Mont County courses we usually play on. They were chewed up and some had weeds on them. There were many brown patches on both the fairway and greens. The pace of play was good, probably because most players know not to play there at what they charge for a weekend round. I will never play there again. read more

I've been playing Renditions for 3 years now and It has matured into a great course. They have lowered their prices since 2008 and I think they are currently priced at exactly what they should be. When you arrive you are greeted and your clubs are taken to your cart. Your cart has your name on it and is staged in the order of your tee time so there is no confusion and everything is orderly as long as the golfer has a smidgen of common sense. The practice facility is the only thing keeping me from a five star review, it's just not very good. The service is impeccable. The course is in good shape, it's a fair yet challenging course. There is some distance between holes. As for the poster who mentioned the pace, I've played this course at least 40 times and I've never played it in more than 4:45. They stagger the tee times correctly and they have a good marshalling system. Not to mention the GPS tells you when you are behind. If you think paying a certain price gives you the right to play a round of golf at any pace then you are the type of person who should stay off the golf course. Pace of Play is the biggest blight on the game right now and it's because an overall sense of etiquette has been abandoned. I appreciate this course getting people moving. I love everything about this course and wish I lived closer. read more

Played here dozens of times. Mostly good service. Fun course, about a 6/10 on challenging (pretty wide open, especially on the front, so a good course to play in the offseason or when trying to get rid of spraying it!). Docked a star for two of my 20 or so ish visits where I had issues. Notably, I won a gift certificate for a scramble (which you would assume is good as cash), and was denied using it when a special was run ("Christmas In July," where we got winter rates for a day), so my options were to pay $90 then use my $40 gift card or pay the special price of $50 or so. I understand not being able to combine two 50% off coupons but this was merely a gift certificate, again, which should be treated like cash. The owner surely was suffering from not profiting enough from the $7 Coors Lights. The other thumbs down was when I made a tee time and had to wait 45 minutes since a scramble was scheduled that day. Unlike a good restaurant that tells you the wait time when you attempt to make a reservation, Renditions failed to notify me of this when I made the actual time. Other than these two times, the starter, pro staff, and bar/dining room staff have been very good. Food is typical golf course grub. I hear they use their banquet room for special events, plays, dinners, etc., which sounds pretty cool and is a wise use of the nice space they have inside. If you're in the area, a great course that is just a notch below Lake Presidential. read more
