If for some reason in front of the shop is full, you can park in front of the plaza and walk 20 yards to the shop. This is definitely a hole in the wall barbershop. It does have two TVs but for some reason Duc always has on TruTV. On the rare occasion he has on a news channel. There is a small customer restroom in the back of the shop. Duc is VERY busy at his small shop. One reason is that he is very reasonable and a good barber Honestly, I feel he should charge a little more. It's a good idea to sort of know what you want in a haircut before getting in the chair because Duc is so busy, it's not a good idea to make him try different styles while there are people waiting. I had a professional haircut before my first marriage in 1990 and my second marriage in 2020. I had back surgery in July 2024 and was unable to cut my hair any longer. My wife has massage therapy at Merrimac Court in Prince Frederick which is on the second floor above the barber shop. She convinced me to see a professional barber after I was released from the Johns Hopkins hospital in July. She took me straight to Mike's House of Style. I had my hair cut by the owner, Shawn Harrod. Shawn cut my hair into a perfect stylish fade better than anything I could have done myself at home! I look much more handsome and attractive now! Shawn is an amazing barber! He is also a very spiritual man, a proud graduate of Bowie State and a supporter of HBCU's! I love supporting my people and Black Owned Businesses. I will continue to go to Mike's House of Style for all of my haircuts!

When they were clear I wasn't too sure on what to do. There is a computer where you "sign in". The lady who checked out the people in front of me looked at me and didn't say one word. She immediately went back to her station and disappeared. Another lady who saw me standing there looking clueless started talking to a blonde girl with short hair while pointing me out. The blonde girl was sitting there not very motivated. The lady that was pointing nicely said "Just check in at the computer and someone will be with you". Apparently you have to put your name phone number and email in if you are a first timer at that location. I'm guessing once you are in the computer, and you have registered at least once, you just have to put your phone number? I'll never know because I ain't going back pffft. Anyway the blonde girl comes to the front and looks at me and says. "You ready?" Kinda like she's annoyed. Not even a Hi or a hello. Just a You ready. I sat down in the barber chair and I swear this was the FASTEST haircut in my life I ever got. I was in that chair for about 8-10 minutes. She pulled the smock off me and I was kinda shocked. The cut was what I asked for and to my liking. I had two issues with my haircut; 1) no after shave lotion or balm used. So I felt the burn well into the day. 2) I didn't realize how much hair was left on me until I was driving to work. It maybe that I didn't communicate well enough with my barber and will try again to see if next time the experience is better. I have had haircuts for years across in many countries and I am somewhat of a fan of old fashioned barbershops.
