A friend recently mentioned Rafet's Hairmasters to me, recommending it most highly. I've been to the shopping center a million times, but never bothered to check it out. I got off from work early the other day and decided to walk-in just in case any appointments were available. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but when I walked in I was impressed. Even the customer who was at the desk paying was ranting and raving about the place, calling it Prince Frederick's "Best Kept Secret." I approached the front desk and was immediately offered a beverage. I love tea- and said so- and when we decided on an appointment later in the day, the woman at the front desk offered a beverage to-go. I declined, but the gesture was appreciated. I was a bit early upon returning for my hair cut appointment, where I was warmly greeted and offered a beverage all over again. I had a hot tea, which was delicious, and sat down on a very comfortable black leather sofa. The whole interior was really well done. The textured walls, sleek plank flooring, oversized mirrors and quirky decor really enhanced the feel of the upscale salon. I had a short consultation about my preferences with my stylist, Stacy DeLong. I have long hair, but I never do anything with it. I always mention to stylists that I don't plan on styling it whatsoever and would therefore like a simple, attractive cut that looks just fine air-dried after a shower. I sometimes get pained expressions from stylists after mentioning this, but Stacy was very understanding. I then had my hair shampooed, and it was more than pleasant. The chairs are massage chairs that raise so that your body isn't in that weird, uncomfortable position. The lady was very outgoing and complimented my hair, which was nice. Stacy did so well with my hair. It's perfect for me. All the while she was cutting, I never felt any snagging or pulling from the brush. It was, overall, a really great experience. After styling, the total came to $50.00, which I find to be perfectly consistent with the services received. What really made the difference, for me, is the tone of this salon. Instead of gossip, the staff at Rafet's talked mostly about how much they enjoy working there, and how great their clients are. It was really refreshing. The comfortable atmosphere paired with upscale interior, knowledgeable staff, and excellent customer service make Rafet's Hairmasters an excellent choice for salons in the Prince Frederick area. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a regular salon with experienced stylists and fabulous customer service. read more

i have been going to igi since i was a young child. growing up, i was always on the alternative side and my mom wasnt so appreciative of my style. since she paid for my haircuts, it always kind of had to be under her jurisdiction, but igi made sure to find something that both me and my mom loved every single time. he is very talented when it comes to doing hair, he treats all his clients like family without ever crossing any unprofessional boundaries. he may be a little expensive, but the experience and end result is worth every penny. read more

I have been going to Rafet's for years (before Irfan opened the shop in Prince Frederick) in Columbia and being that my family and I have recently moved to SoMD, I was thrilled when I saw the Rafet's shop and even happier that Irfan was running it.
