Excellent specialist. Communicates well w/ terrific expertise and experience. I have been treated by her multiple times over 15+ years, and one of my best friends had a surgery w/ her that changed his life and solved serious foot pain and structural issues, The few negative reviews here are TOTALLY unwarranted and unfair and are a 100% reflection of the patient's OWN failures & issues. She is HIGHLY competent and cares deeply about her patients well being and it's disgusting to portray her as anything otherwise. read more

As with all the physicians I've seen at the Center for Sports Medicine, Dr. Ardizzone is everything you could wish for in a doctor. She's an outstanding practitioner, articulate and clear about both diagnosis and treatment options, warm and approachable, and unstinting with her time. Very lucky to have found her and recommend her highly. And when physical therapy is warranted, the outstanding PTs are just a few steps away. read more

I've experienced bad. She's GREAT! If u think your feet are bad, we've never met. It's been a series of obscure reasons for my pain, and so far she's been right on every count. I haven't had a DPM in San Francisco this good. read more

dr ardizzone is very thorough, meticulous in her care, and down to earth. afaic, i avoided having a risky ankle surgery performed because of her careful approach and advice. a couple years later, i'm even more glad i avoided that surgery. i saw her recently and she said normally people with that issue would quickly degrade --- instead, i have slowly but clearly improved. we'll have to c what the future brings, but i am fairly confident that the surgery would not have helped --- at all --- and that the recovery from it would have been really really difficult --- mainly due to my age. read more

I can't tell you how impressed I am with Dr. Ardizzone's capabilities as a Dr. and a surgeon. I have had persistent plantar fasciitis and a neuroma. She was the first to use holistic and integrative thinking to link all of my issues with previous back problems. The physical therapy shop on the premises is top notch. It is important to note that you pay more because it is located at the hospital. I ended up having to got to a different PT shop to get the cost covered by insurance. Dr. Ardizzone operated on me for the neuroma. She is VERY careful about swelling and guiding you through the process. She spent one hour on Zoom with me to go over the procedure before the surgery. That is longer than the actual surgery. She has been very attentive in the post surgical time. I know everyone says this, but, I never write reviews. I felt a need to do that this time. read more

The year is 2018. This must be the only "dr" not to take credit cards! Unbelievable. Like many, I have a health credit card from my insurance that is meant to pay for doctor visits and such. I couldn't pay at the time of my visit because the Dr doesn't know her own business prices so I waited for the bill in the mail. Upon receiving, I called to make the payment and was informed that the Dr does not accept credit cards through her financial department. Even the the her own accounts laughed and could not explain why the Dr refuses to allow credit cards. I had to travel from Walnut Creek three (!) separate times. She takes random days off so I missed her twice then the third time she was on vacation. I asked the folks behind the counter if they could just swipe my card so I can pay, "the Dr does not allow anyone but herself swipe cards". What a joke. Why didn't you call before traveling all the way out there the guy behind the desk asked. "Because NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONES HERE". All three people behind the counter smiled and then pretended to be busy which proves the point that they knowingly do not answer phone calls. Don't believe me? Call her office. I do not recommend her. Way behind the technology times, not very personable and just not really a kind person, in my opinion. read more

I was "fired" this morning at 9:30 a.m. as a patient by this cold and distant female podiatrist. I had seen her twice before. She recommended an MRI and physical therapy. My physical therapist recommended I see Dr. Ardizzone a third time, today, because he felt my foot was still too sensitive to physical stress after four sessions of PT. He had suggested to her I be put on a fracture boot, something I'd worn for 8 weeks already when I suffered the initial foot injury in July. I didn't want to go back on the fracture boot, but I brought it with me to my appointment this morning just in case she was going to recommend it and I could show her the type of boot I have used before. Dr. Ardizzone looked at me, then at her file on me, admitted to me that my physical therapist had spoken with her, and then asked, "What are your expectations?" I questioned her questioning me about any expectations. I was not on the stand to testify here. I had been referred by my physical therapist for further evaluation. It was her duty to respond to the physical therapist's suggestions regarding me. "Are we having an argument?" I asked the doctor. "I just want my foot to feel normal." "Well, you've been very reluctant to follow the protocols." She was absolutely wrong in making such a statement. "I have done everything you have asked me to do," I said. "You have asked me to not exercise except for a half-hour every other day maximum. You have asked me not to walk long distances. You have asked me to go to physical therapy. I've followed your every instruction. Yes, when you first told me to stop exercising, I balked about it, but I did everything you said after all. There's been no reluctance on my part. What is your problem?" She replied, "I have a problem with you shouting at me." This woman was cold and full of hyperbole when she spoke. I had not been shouting at her; I had raised my voice and it was expressing my exacerbation and excitement regarding the (to me) inappropriate and off-putting question she posed me. "I want to know what are your expectations," I said. "That's it," this doctor announced. "I'm through with you. I'm sorry we are not a match for you. I suggest you find someone else." And with that remark, the doctor opened the office door and walked briskly down the hall. She was done with me, painful Lisfranc injury or not. I was toast. In the hallway, I was walking towards the exit when I saw her scurrying away, and I called out to her from about ten feet away, "Dr. Ardizzone, I think your behavior is really unprofessional." Dr. Ardizzone stopped, turned on her high heels in her starched white coat and exclaimed, "I told you this conversation is over. Now I'm going to call security." Unbelievable verbal and physical behavior exhibited by a so-called medical professional, left me completely in the lurch as to what to do next about my sore and painful foot. I had injured it just walking in July, no heavy lifting, no sudden bang against my foot. The first podiatrist I saw put me in a boot for 8 weeks but failed to give me guidelines as to what protocols to follow after removing me from the boot. My insurance then switched from Blue Cross to Medicare in the meantime, so I thought I'd try a new doctor with my new insurance. The physical therapy Dr. Ardizzone prescribed was so light and ineffectual that it provided nothing useful toward my healing, and yet the physical therapist concluded that my foot was too sensitive even for light physical therapy. As far as I understand, Lisfranc injuries are very difficult to treat (and that's the kind of injury I have) and I think Dr. Ardizzone not only knew she was in over her head in regard to my treatment but she wanted to start an argument in order to dismiss me so she could avoid getting in any deeper than she already was. She hadn't a clue really as to how to help someone with a Lisfranc injury. Better to blame the patient. Don't count on Dr. Ardizzone to have any psychological understanding either of different types of personalities or people. She's not equipped to handle anyone who isn't a robot or compliant dummy. Strange, for an Italian. Most Italians I know can cut conflict with a knife and can "get real." Not this woman. She's brittle, even if she is a blonde with beautiful blue eyes. Stay away. I've already contacted Medicare in order to learn how to stop Dr. Remy Ardizzone from trying to collect on this "visit" that was nothing but a blow-out and display of this doctor's poor quality of care. There is a Quality Improvement telephone number for Medicare: 1-877-588-1123. If anyone else suffered from poor quality of care through Medicare by a doctor, you can dial the above-mentioned telephone number. I'm also going to contact the billing department of Medicare in order to stop payment for this visit as well. read more

I am so grateful I found Dr. Ardizzone - she saved me! After a serious ankle sprain that wouldn't heal, I went through 8 months and 6 different ankle specialists before I found a doctor that listened, asked great questions, intelligently worked it through, and knew what to do. Another doctor just shot me up with cortizone three times, another shrugged and told me this was my life now, and another shrugged and said he could operate and remove the swollen tissue and see if that helps. What? What does that even mean? Dr. Ardizzone knew exactly what the problem was, and everything went perfectly in surgery and rehab. After eight months of pain and inability to do anything that I loved (running, cycling, hiking), or even walking farther than a couple blocks, with Dr. Ardizzone I finally was on a quick and successful road to recovery. I'm happy to report that I am now back to 100%. Running, cycling, swimming, hiking, walking forever, I can do it all. Thanks to Dr. Ardizzone and the fantastic PT team at St. Francis. I should mention one more thing - two people recommended her to me that had great experiences with Dr. Ardizzone that did not include surgery. She will not jump to suggesting surgery if that isn't right for you. read more

I know I was late by 15 minutes but my 3:00 apt became her last of the day. You could have waited or have a staff member contact me. I was coming from San Jose. She left for the day. read more

Dr Adrizzone was phenomenal! I'm a new patient and I really felt like she heard me, and she offered a solution to my ankle pain that the many doctor's I've been to haven't even mentioned. I appreciate her fresh take on the situation and am looking forward to seeing her in the future. Already her recommendations are helping tremendously, and I appreciate her hesitancy about immediately defaulting to surgery or injections (like cortisone). She is very thorough but also personable, and I feel confident relying on her for medical guidance. read more

I couldn't be happier that I was referred to Dr. Ardizonne! She's changed my life! I've seen my share of Dr's for sports injuries and Dr. Ardizonne is one of the most knowledgeable, confident, clear, professional doctors that I have ever seen. I hadn't experienced the same level of detail that she goes into with her diagnosis and options for treatment. She's also extremely easy to talk to. I normally have trouble asking Dr's the difficult questions, but she encourages it and I feel so much more confident knowing all the 'why?' and the 'how?' and the 'what if's?' I met Dr. Ardizzone 6 years ago on the recommendation of some people I play club basketball with (She's the go-to for Olympic Club basketball) after a gnarly ankle injury. After some physical therapy and exercises I had the ankles under control and was a happy camper. A year and a half ago I rolled my ankle playing ball and went for a marathon training run a few days later, which destroyed my ankle. I rested for months, but the pain continued then I saw Dr's. Unfortunately I had switched health insurance providers to Kaiser and had to see others first. According to those Dr's I had arthritis and there was not much we could do about it. My life activities would revolve around 'pain management', which at 32 you don't want to hear! As soon as I was able to change my health insurance I went back to Dr. Ardizzone for a 3rd opinion. She walked me through the x-rays and MRI's and explained, in 1000x the amount of detail, what was going on with my ankle and foot; which bones had growths, what joints, areas of cartilage she was concerned about, what she wasn't concerned about. After a year and a half of thinking I wouldn't be able to run again I went into surgery confident in my Dr and my recovery. I've recommended Dr. Ardizzone to several friends and all have had wonderful things to say! read more

Dr Ardizzone is only interested in making money, not in the patient. She was extremely rude to me, after admitting to making a billing mistake and insists that I still pay even though it was admittedly her mistake. Her office said they were in my network, took my insurance card, took my co-pay and then months later sent me a bill saying she was not in the network and I owed her an additional $200. When I called she said they made a mistake but it is not her responsibility. On a side (and more importantly), she had recommeded bunion surgery for my 20 yr old daughter, without looking at xays or mri. Two other surgeons said absolutley NOT. They would never perform surgery on such a mild case at such a young age. She is now being successfully treated with a simple orthodic, and back on the running trails. I never wite reviews but I am so offended by her rudeness and lack of responisibility, even with admitting that she made a mistake. read more

This doctor is fantastic. I brought my 8-year-old son to see dr. Ardizzone after he injured his toe, and we needed to have his toenail removed. Dr. Ardizzone was professional, warm, empathic and gentle. I would highly recommend her to anyone with children. read more

Not only did she butcher my husband's foot, but her billing office has billed the wrong insurance company over and over despite my 6 phone calls and a fax with the correct info. RUN! My husband was in much more pain after his surgery from Dr. Ardizzone that before and he suffered terribly for 10 months after. She kept saying it would get better. Finally she admitted she had to redo the surgery. He went to a different surgeon for the second surgery, which was hugely successful. He was finally out of pain from what Dr. A did. The second surgeon had to put in several screws and plates to (in my opinion) fix the damage done by Dr. A. Her billing office is incompetent. Just no other way to say it. I really don't like to give negative reviews, but in this case I feel like I saving others from the pain my husband went through. read more

I am currently undergoing treatment with Dr Ardizzoni and I have nothing but positive things to say about her skills and professionalism. She listens to my concerns and responds with understanding and compassion. And, she is very thorough in her explanation of treatment including surgical procedures. My surgery was successful and I'm responding well to PT because Dr Ardizzoni is an excellent surgeon with a "patient friendly personality". read more

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Ardizonne. I've been a patient of Dr. Blake's at St. Francis. Recently I developed a problem and Dr. Blake was quick to refer me to Dr. Ardizzone. I had a hammertoe and a bunion which made running impossible. Dr. Ardizzone reviewed my records, recommended that I try physical therapy and after all that, suggested surgery. I knew it was inevitable. I had a bunionextomy and correction of the hammertoe. For the 1st 5 days I was good about following the doctors plan concerning pain medication. Most people I know say that this surgery is the most painful surgery, all I can say is that after 1 week, I needed zero pain medication AND I was walking in a surgical shoe. No crutches. Every case is different but I know the difference is in the surgeon. Dr. Ardizzone is Type A and perfectionist...two characteristics I admire, and want, in a surgeon. read more

Dr. Ardizzone is wonderful. I saw her for about 10 minutes. The office employs deceptive billing practice. I called ahead to make sure of the status of preferred provider rate and $40. copay. They said yes that was correct. The bill I received was for $157. 00, $97.00 to St. Francis Memorial Hospital and an extra money tacked on to her bill as well. Letters went unanswered. I even wrote to the CEO of St. Francis. They never bothered to respond. They then sicked a collection agency on me for both bills! NEVER AGAIN! BEWARE THIS OFFICE OVERBILLING! read more

Few years ago I used to work for a translation service for patients/doctors and in a couple occasions I got to translate for a patient with Dr Remy Ardizzone, I saw her treated her patient with the utmost care and kindness possible. Beware. Dr Ardizzoni seems great but understand you will be billed for her services AND an additional "facility fee" from St. Francis. This is medical billing slime at its peak. The billing representative had the audacity to tell me "Just dont worry about it, you have insurance". Are you brain dead? People with "insurance" still have deductibles and co payments and the additional tagged on fees equate to several hundred dollars above what we would have paid anywhere else. Where else in the world would you be asked to buy something and be told the price later? There is no excuse. Period. Dr. Ardizzoni, we will make the assumption that you were unaware of your company's billing practices. But, from here forward you need to take some accountability. read more

Dr. Remy Ardizzone has completed two surgeries for me (one on each foot). She is very thorough in explaining options, procedures and expectations. She listens and takes her time to understand concerns and issues. She is very professional, knowledgeable, confident, kind and intelligent. I am writing this review on the 6 month anniversary of my major foot surgery performed by Dr. Ardizzone. Major = 4 plus hours, 3 different procedures. Essentially reconstructing my foot, with lots of titanium hardware involved. It took me 6 years to screw up the courage to do the surgery, and I interviewed many other doctors. I am so glad I went with my instincts and chose her. My experience with Dr. Ardizzone far and away exceeded any expectations. She's very knowledgable, a highly skilled surgeon, exacting, and an expert in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of foot problems, including multiple, complex foot problems like mine. But she's also kind and compassionate beyond measure. She listens to and respects you. Unlike many other doctors I spoke to, her care extends far beyond the completion of the surgery. She helps ensure minimal swelling and mitigation of pain immediately post-surgery. Furthermore she developed a recovery and rehab plan that maximizes the chance for a good outcome. Without this conservative approach and attention to detail, I would not be shooting baskets and walking nearly three miles a mere six months after such a major procedure. I feel like my words don't even do this whole experience justice. Bottom line: I was blown away by my experience with Dr. Ardizzone, and I enthusiastically, wholeheartedly, unequivocally recommend her to treat feet. read more
