we found mini roaches and termites during our TOUR of the Lawndale unit G apartment on 5/29/2025 and they said they would get on top of that but for these issues to permanently be resolved you would need to fumigate the whole building not just the unit. which they said they would only fumigate the unit.. read more

Absolutely the worst experience with a very unprofessional manager Yelma Rojo. A sample of her many questions- For your employer, there is a different number online than what was written on your application. We called the number shown online but it didn't go through. Can you explain the different numbers? My answer was - I have no idea why that number shows up on the internet- the number I provided you ----- is the office number. I believe someone called to verify my employment yesterday. How am I to explain what shows up on the internet? Did you check the D&B? Mind you I provided 3 months worth of paystubs. read more

I have begun to lease an apartment through Rems Inc., and I wanted to share the awesome customer service that I received from Michelle Bravo and Fabian. Fabian arranged for me to view the apartment at my leisure and he was very communicative throughout the process. He informed me of the leasing requirements, and gave me advice on how to prepare my application. Ms. Bravo worked very closely with me to assist in ensuring all of my necessary documents were completed in a timely manner,and she regularly communicated with me on my application status. I was so impressed by Ms. Michelle and Mr. Fabian's transparency, and exceptional customer service skills. It was a pleasure to work with genuinely kind and pleasant people. Carlos met me at 8:30 AM to provide me with my keys, and I was allowed access to move into the apartment two weeks before my move-in date. I read the bad reviews and still decided to apply because I loved the place. When I say that Yelma Rojo is rude, unprofessional and a liar she is that plus more. I am going to try to keep this review unexplicit but after being lied to and scammed out of 70$ but I think that all future renters MUST BEWARE!! I called and asked how long a decision would take; 72 hours. How high did the credit score need to be; they aren't looking for a credit score number good credit history. If I wasn't approved for my first place can I re-apply to other places without having to pay an application fee; sure. These are all lies I applied Saturday 12/8 and was informed of a decision on Friday 12/14. I was told I didn't qualify because I had delinquent credit accounts that are 1 year old and that's recent. I couldn't apply to any other places because I didn't qualify for the first place. When I tell you that everything Yelma previously stated and what was advertised for the residence is false; I am telling you THIS IS A REAL BULLSHIT RENTAL COMPANY. I had to call 15x within 10min to get an answer whether I was approved or denied and I still did not have an answer. I had to call for 3 days before I got a call back; instead of avoiding me she could have simply stated I was denied. One last thing, don't let the operator Doris fool you and let you believe that there is only one employee named Yelma that handles the rental applications at ext 1004. The owner is Joseph at ext 1002. Goodluck renters don't waste your money, time or sanity dealing with people who could give a fuck about you. read more

I was recently reminded of my review of REMS, so I came back to read it. I am surprised at the criticisms I made back then...almost 2 years ago now. And I am happy to say that REMS, Inc has earned an update and star increase from me. First, the staff which was changing at the time I wrote the last review, has settled in and is honestly, doing a terrific job for us. I rarely have to deal with any maintenance issues other than quick questions. Second, I am afraid that my own aversion to change, made me judge Joseph too harshly. In the past two years, he has taken almost total management responsibility of our property and I am thoroughly impressed with his professionalism, ability to deal with owners, and follow through. We've also been very pleased with the vendors that he has referred to us. Lastly, Miguel remains top-notch, though I talk with him much less now. He is currently dealing with financial issues that have plagued our HOA for a few years now due our past poor management from other companies. We are also pleased with Rafael, who handles our finances for monthly expenses. He mails out bills in a timely manner and always sends our monthly statements via email, as well as keeping owners aware of their status with regard to dues. I am really glad that we've stuck with REMS for 5 years now because they've proven to be the best kind of business - one that listens to its customers and attempts to improve on shortcomings while maintaining their strengths. They remain honest, and perhaps that's the very best trait in a property management company. (And believe me, our HOA has used a lot of companies prior to REMS!) Great people to rent with. We have rented with REMS since 2010 now and they have been consistently professional and friendly. Both Kelly and Joseph make sure that our needs regarding our rental properly are met in a timely manner. They have friendly office staff and are very accommodating and return calls quickly. Absolutely one of the worst experiences of my life, no rent control in Englewood help to fuel thir greed.... REMS hire subcontractors who are not professionally supervise and work on the property after hours disregarding residents. They turn off water with no notice for repairs even though they were scheduled to 2 to 3 days in advance. I could go on by why bother I moved out after complaining about my windows allowing all the air through that was old as the building itself and of the workers blocking the entrances coming in and out of the building causing a fire hazard they all of sudden decided they needed my apartment for no apparent reason REMS then gave me a 60 day vacate order which is in retaliation to my complaints. R.E.M.S. is the best rental management company I have ever worked with. They are incredibly responsive and come out immediately to fix any problems I had with my rental. When we moved out, they were incredibly fair in returning our security deposit minus a cleaning fee. They did not overcharge us, inspected the property immediately, and we received the majority of our security deposit back. read more

I've been living at my current residence for the last 10 years. You can imagine I've seen many tenants come and go, and you can imagine I've experienced rent increases over the years. Recently, the city of Inglewood decided we needed a stadium and with this new stadium comes new expenses and rent increases. The folks at R.EM.S. do a pretty good job of making sure their properties' aesthetics reflect the ever increasing change of rent. Recently, our rent increased, and after speaking with them, (Kelly and Joseph) we reached an agreement that our unit could use several "updates". They agreed and one of the projects has been completed. As a tenant, it is important to live where you and your Family are comfortable, the environment is clean and safe (as much as possible) and where you are valued as a tenant (someone spending a considerable amount of money). Being able to discuss concerns with our management company and having them heard and acted upon is refreshing. If you're looking for a pretty awesome place to live where you're valued as a tenant, this is the company to give you just that. This company deserves 0 stars, sadly the option is not available. This management is a poor excuse/poor man's last resort. When we moved in to one of their overpriced properties it was disgustingly dirty, the tub had all the grime from the previous tenants. The owner of mgmt property was doing last minute clean up as we were moving in. The whole property was so run down and I had to call them to do things like install a smoke alarm....um welcome to laws 101. The worst part is dealing with the employees at their offices. Seriously, if you're a landlord, don't hire them because they are incompetent and will not make sure that your property is maintained, your tenants are taken care of, or that you are within legal compliance for how you deal with your tenants. UNPROFESSIONAL! AVOID! Just this last Sat. we had a REMS experience. Never again. 1. They did not show the apartment. It is more convenient for them to charge a refundable fee, $30, have the future tenants pickup a key at their office, and then have to drive to the property. 2. The building was grossly rundown. There is another building next door to the one we were visiting, and the difference in the look of the exterior was shocking. 3. The key they gave us did not even work. We called to complain about the key, and was given a combination to a lock box that was next to the door. Surprise, surprise! The combination did not work either. 4. While returning the key the employee did not even apologize for wasting our time, and gas. I requested my Drivers License info be shredded. The employee was very standoffish, but begrudgingly ripped up my information in front of me. read more

They are SCAMMERS, We applied to a house that we fell in love with. Brought proof of income that goes OVER x3 (closer to x4) the monthly amount of rent they were asking. We asked 1 of 2 agents (Joseph & Yelma) that helped us get scammed, if we needed to have good credit as we had dealt with fraud etc and knew for a fact this would be a problem if indeed excellent credit was something they were looking for. Joseph confirms credit wasnt a factor, they looked for no bankruptcy, no evictions, and proof of atleast x3 the monthly rent was what is important to them. We spoke to Joseph about us not having good credit and we wouldn't apply if that was the problem. Again Joseph reconfirmed it was not a problem. Yelma takes care of us next and we are required to prove every type of income possible, we attach about 40 or more files with month to month pay stubs, w2, pensions, and more. After being tossed around for several weeks Yelma calls us and let's us know our application was rejected because of credit. ARE YOU SERIOUS. My whole family feels ripped off and feels they were trying to find any way to reject us and keep application money, we probably werent the only ones this happened to at this location. R.E.M.S YOU WILL BE HEARING FROM THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF BUSINESS WE FELT HIGHLY TRICKED AND DISRESPECTED. We have been home owners for over 15 years in a highly demanded area of West Los Angeles and have been approved for renting in West LA but this home in Inglewood has been the hardest and most stressful application. I will be writing this message on every type of review page and social media platform they have linked. After they rejected our application they did not offer any type of help they simply we're done, even other companies have told us they would help us find a home to rent that meets requirements. read more

Wouldn't Recommend Save yourself the time. We've been dealing with Yelma, who has basically been giving us the run around for about a week. We've applied, went through some back and forth about missing docs (which is totally understandable), got the docs back to her moments later. Said she has been trying for a few days to reach our past landlords, yet when i called both my past landlords they said they hadn't gotten any calls. She finally got back to us saying she had everything she needed, and that we should have an answer " in about an hour" ... its been 3days, we can't get her on the phone or get her to respond to emails now. I'm realizing now that she has just been telling us anything to keep stringing us along. Not sure if this is their way of denying us or what, but a simple email would nice so we're not sitting around waiting for nothing. At this point i'm just glad we only gave this company $60 for app fees, since clearly they are very unreliable and take their time getting things done. As of now, still haven't heard anything back from anyone in this office, so I guess we wont be renting with them ... which would have been good to know a week ago. read more

I have never had problems with all of them they are all awesome and very helpful and respectful. Whenever I need their help it was always same day or the next unlike any other places they have emergency number, and Josef will always respond right away.. my favorites was Adores, she is extremely professional and patient woman I ever seen and very helpful and respectful, she treat me like family and calls every one honey sweetie very sweet woman. Alma and Alhandro was amazing and very helpful too. All of them was helpful and do their best. I rented a 1 bedroom apartment in Inglewood with my son. Everything worked out good, I stayed 2 and a half years before moving to another apartment in Inglewood with my mother. They were fair during my tenancy and Miguel in accounting even waived a late fee one time I was late due to a mail issue. When I moved out I was worried about getting charged for carpet replacement, because I spilled bleach in the hallway/living room area. I was pleasantly surprised, because Joseph explained to me during the pre-move out inspection that the carpet was past the life expectancy and I couldn't legally be charged for it. I live in a 36 unit townhome complex, a few year ago the owner of one of the units decided to sale her property to R.E.M.S. (they were already manageing this property). they put 4 different set of getto renters in the unit this tenants that a currently in the unit now are saleing drugs renting different cars about every 4-5 days, very lound, constant visitors, using the unit as a hotel different people coming to live there, they trash the parking area, and break the gate often, and they are very, very disrespectful. We homeowners don't understand is WHY WOULD A MANAGEMENT CO. BUY A TOWNHOUSE! WHAT ARE THEY BENEFINTING FROM? AND DO THEY EXPECT US HOMEOWNERS TO PUT UP W/ THIS UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR?
