We had a deeply disappointing experience with Remnar Homes. The biggest issue was the lack of communication, for example we had several subcontractors contact us directly because Ed Rice was often unavailable or unresponsive, which created confusion and costly delays. We also failed two occupancy inspections due to unresolved issues on the build. Ed always had someone else to blame when questioned on why we weren't passing bank inspections and building code inspections. On top of that, we had to repair the siding that wasn't properly installed and repaint the entire house within two years of owning the home because of premature weathering and improper application. An entire section of the roof had to be replaced and water damage repaired 4 months after closing on the house due to the flashing missing and installed upside down around the chimney. All preventable issues and was the responsibility of the builder, he went MIA on requests for repair. During the process, we experienced several interactions where he spoke to us, especially my wife, in a dismissive and disrespectful manner, which made an already stressful situation even worse. He often employed his 14 year old son to do finish work on the home. He ignored our requests to not have children working on our home. Based on our experience, we recommend that others do their research thoroughly if we had we would have found that he was sued before and chosen another builder. read more
