I know short sales can be a mess of time but my low rating was based on a first time experience as a first time buyer and the fact we ended up walking away from this company. We went here originally to look at a home that we found we did not qualify for. The woman we went to directed us to a financial advisor Jodi, who was very knowledgeable and gave us an idea of our options. We went a different way and found funding to get another home shown again by Remax. The same agent really didn't have the people skills that you would think would be imperative for a great realtor. From the first official showing we arrived before her she was 5 min late. My co buyer had contacted her previously only to get no call back. When she arrived we asked her and her response was just that she had gotten the message. No call back though. We still put in a bid on a house because I liked it a lot. It was told by this realtor that they had another bid in at the time. We asked if two bids could be put in and after she checked with the listing agent Robin she said yes we could. What was not explained is that you can not have in two bids at the same time. Had we known this it would've changed dramatically the end result but she said it would take about 3 to 6 months to close. I would contact her with questions about items like about the water in the space not working and was told she would find out and let me know. No word back after a month. I had to call the water department with the city to find out myself. After a discussion between myself and the co buyer we decided to contact the head of this Remax and explain to him the lack luster job we felt and the possibility of swapping realtors. Matt the owner, instead of calling us gave the message back to the realtor. This I assume is not typically how people in a professional environment deal with complaints. The realtor contacted us instead. That made us even more uncomfortable. I contacted again to speak to Matt. This time I got a message via my personal facebook from his assistant about calling. This again was not how I felt it should've been handled. I suppose Matt did not find our issues important enough to take one of the four calls sent into him. This resulted in us jumping ship after almost 4 months and starting over with another company. The silver lining is 2 weeks ago we left Remax to another real estate company and just closed on our future home in that time. I know this is my personal experience but as a business owner I can't imagine not dealing personally with the needs of my clients no matter how big or small the sale. read more

In the fall of 2014 I was trying to sell my manufactured home by myself. I was having little luck finding a qualified buyer through websites and a for sale sign in the window. After trying for about a month I received a phone called from Duane, an agent from ReMax. I appreciated his eager approach to get my home on the market. I looked into his credibility and agreed to the partnership a couple days later. Duane was honest the whole time about what could/should be improved on the property to make it more appealing. He was knowledgeable and friendly and fair to make this sell work for me. There were some times where the property appeared to be losing interest and my initial reaction was to lower the price hastily just to get it off my hands. Duane reassured me that it was a good price so to hold steady. He suggested that I make some minor repairs to keep it on the market. We eventually did go down a little but not as much as I would have without his help. The best part of this transaction was that I was not alone through this stressful process. When I called Duane if he couldn't answer my call right away, he would get back to me when he could. Overall I would give Duane a good review.
