Had lunch at this restaurant the other day and I was very disappointed at the service and food. My friends and I did not feel welcomed they were to be welcoming the non Muslims and were attentive to them, I guess bc they want to show off and make them come back! We were also paying customers but didn't receive any respect, the food was very expensive for this town and the salad was brown, and the rice was not fresh, you can tell it was leftover from the day before! Tried this place for the first time, it looked nice but the service was not at all! I waited at least 10 minutes untill someone came to take my order, even though the place was empty. They were all in the back just singing and playing around!! So unprofessional!! Throwing down the gauntlet: This is the best Middle Eastern restaurant in Detroit. Come in, try their aptly named Try For Two, taste the best rice I've ever had, enjoy the perfectly cooked and seasoned meat, and sip their Adni Chai at lunch...everything they do is at the highest level of quality, including the friendly service. The place is clean, the menu is full of helpful pictures and explanations, and the prices are maximum bang-for-your-buck. When the top chef Fouad was their the food was amazing but he left and now they only have some unprofessional Yemenie men cooking. No one is in charge waiters are busy on their phone. Stopped by this restaurant a week ago thinking it would be nice. To my surprise it was not nice at all. It was empty in the afternoon and when I ordered a few things, they tell me they don't have that item today. I waited for my food for about a good 30 minutes which is not okay! I have to say this is the friendliest resturant I have ever been to. They are genuinely concerned with how you enjoyed your visit and always checking up to make sure everything is goes perfectly. i used to eat here regularly, but sometime this year the people that run it decided they didn't need to do anything about the dozens of flies and bugs inside. the tables are filthy, and the wait staff appears to be entirely staffed by underage kids. disgusting and not worth it. literally dozens of better options elsewhere. shame. read more
