"Just Because Someone Is On TV, Doesn't Make Them A Star"…read more The reason I write this review is to share my experiences with Luther Auctions In North Saint Paul. If you want to have a terrible auction experience, try consigning with Tracy Luther Auctions, they are rude and act like snobs, and what ever you have is garbage. I don't care if it's the Holy Grail, It's garbage. They won't want to consign it "because it won't do well there", they would say. I guess they are doing so well that they can turn away business, "Or they don't want to junk the place up". I once brought in a pair of crystal lamps and told them I understand all the risks, that if it don't sell for more then $20 I would get nothing, and was turned away, so I sold it at another auction for $225, It's just weird to me for a business to turn down money, but they are stuck in there little bubble. If you can somehow break down the wall and consign with them, they will get you good prices, I once seen a box of yarn sell there for $35 that someone consigned, but my stuff is not good enough. If your a buyer there, I hope you don't mind a sore back side. After the sales tax and the buyers premium it comes out to be 22%, So if you win a item for $100, you would have to pay $122. The items here usually sell for top dollar, but every once in a while, if you do your due diligence and show patience, you can make a nice score. I once picked up a biscuit tin for $42 and sold it online for $500. But it's OK. if you don't mind a speed auction and bad jokes, they have some good stuff, if you can keep up with it. Also find out what "times the money" means, It could save you some problems. Arrive early and inspect the items, they are usually flawed, and sold under the pretense "sold as is".

This company has sadly gone down hill over the last couple of years. In the past you could trust this company to give a honest description of the item being sold. Now I would not recommend buying anything from this company's site. Here is his exact description of the vehicle we purchased as he describe it "all lights, turn signals, radio, wipers, heater, gauges, etc. are all in good working condition". Well the RADIO, WIPERS, CLOCK don't work! Upon arrival the car had a serious fuel leak and almost didn't start. I installed a new "real" fuel line. It had some kind of yellow plastic line. We then took off on our first adventure in the car. After 1 1/2 hours we headed home. We heard a load scraping noise. The right front wheel bearing cratered. We limped it home. We smelled gas the whole trip. We discovered the carb was leaking fuel in several areas. So we've enlisted a Ford expert to help us locate all the leaks from the engine. I replaced the front wheel bearings after 9 hours!!! Then the next day the driver door wouldn't open. I finally got it open. The engine leaks oil like a stuck pig! The car needs a "puppy pad" underneath it to catch all the leaks! The following items DON'T work as advertised!! Horn, wipers, radio, clock!!! Everyday we wake up wondering what will be wrong with the car today! But the worst part of the transaction is Matt's SLOW or NO response. I gave him a over a week to check back and see how we liked the car. CRICKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We spent 40K on a car and he could care less!!!!!!! No communications. I left a voice mail about our issues 24 hours ago and no response so I'm leaving him a horrible review!!! Spending this kind of money on an unseen car is scary. I feel you CANNOT trust Matt! He told us this was a #2 car!!!!!!! Really????? His exact words in his description were "this is a rare, classic car that can be driven anywhere with no worries." Well that is a lie!!!!! 8 days later we have still not heard from Matt. We can't take the car out without worrying about what will fail next! The car won't start after driving it for over 15 minutes. We had a little different kind of experience with BEN as compared to most of the other clients. I…read morethink BEN might be super busy that time. BEN came to our house took all the pics and promised to send a detailed report by next week. We got the report and found many discrepancies, total square ft was not correct and he compared with other 3 houses those were around 500 sqft less than our house. Other houses have just a patio or one had a small deck and our house has a 14x14 four-season sunroom with underneath covered storage but BEN added 0 for that. Many other discrepancies too which I already talked to BEN, when he came to inspect the house. I requested Ben to look again at these missings but he said the report is fine and eventually stops answering the emails. We are also in the market for the last 2 years and bought another house too, we had pretty much an idea about the value and also got an appraisal from another agent, and BEN's appraisal was not anywhere close to that. It was so disappointing, we consider Ben must be super busy so could not spend sufficient time on the report or lack of market knowledge just getting busy to grab more business...
