Been meaning to try Relish Palace for years now, so glad we were able to get around to it. Why it took so long isn't a massive mystery - it doesn't look like much, lacks ambiance, and there's a plethora of other places to eat around the area. It was indeed a quiet restaurant we walked into, sound-tracked by Close to You by the Carpenters, which proceeded to play on repeat for the two or so hours we were there (didn't care - great song). There's some interesting sounding dishes, and there's zero explanation of what is on the menu other than the dish name so if you have any allergies prepare to ask lots of questions before you order. We also had to ask for water about four times before it arrived.
But who cares about any of that when the food is good? Which it is. Big fans. That turns all the above things into character quirks, not flaws. We will be back soon, and I truly hope the same song is still playing when we do. read more
