Bridgetown Window & Door

Bridgetown Window & Door

Parkrose, Northeast Portland

Last year, I called up Bridgetown to get a quote to replace some of my windows. Frank came out to…read moreassess and develop a quote. Realizing I wanted to replace all the windows and patio doors, I delayed a year and contacted Frank when I was ready. First of all, Frank is a joy to work with. He was always communicative, prompt and friendly. He offered for us to come out to the showroom and see the windows and doors in person. I went with the Milgard Trinsic Windows and Doors. Second, the install team was excellent. Every day, they arrived on time and hit the ground running. Having a number of contractors for projects over the past 5 years, this team has been the best. I moved out of the house during the project, but I stopped by daily and everything was always cleaned up and in order. Third, I really appreciated the effort and thoroughness on the last day of cleaning the exterior and especially the interior of the house. The team takes great pride in their work and you can tell that is 100% employee owned. If I had to say there was a down side, its you may be in for a wait when placing your order because their work is in high demand (the first year quote, I would have had to wait 4-5 months). Finally, the windows and doors are beautiful. What a difference this made in regards to temperature, sound, and clarity. Not to mention, the ease at using the doors and the contemporary narrow frame modernized our home. We could not be happier.

One of them was damaged(I wouldn't have noticed). They installed it, ordered another window, and replaced the damaged one when the new one arrived at no charge to me. I love the windows. They are energy efficient and let in so much light!

We needed 3 west-facing windows replaced. I asked for quotes for just the windows and then…read moreinstallation as I have friends that are contractors who could install them if it made sense. Well...the quote for the windows was $5k. The quote to install them was $8k on top of that! Are you kidding me? After I stopped laughing I arranged to buy the windows but wanted to have Lifetime measure them to make sure that was done correctly. That price was $750 to come out and measure 3 windows! Begrudgingly I paid that just to be safe. The guy that came out to measure told me to just let them know if we had any install questions. The largest window came in two pieces. I reached out to find out if Milgard provides any kits or best-practice instructions for "mulling" the windows together to ensure a tight seal. Reached out again. And again. Finally got a call back to say "we're waiting on the Milgard rep and will get back to you"....well that never happened. Windows were installed and they are fine but the severe lack of follow up up by a company that will quote you $8,000 to install 3 windows left a very bad taste and we will look elsewhere for future window needs. RESPONSE TO OWNER: Sir, no amount of training, experience or insurance justifies $8,000 for installing 3 windows and your company's quote was nowhere near competive. I got two other quotes from outfits just as reputable as yours that were several thousand dollars less so you can step down from the pedestal....you're not the only reputable game in town. I would not be posting this review if the issue was soley cost. I can always go elsewhere for windows. Nor was I holding you accountable for installtion challenges. I was mainly holding you accountable for not following through when we were promised assistance with questions. There you failed. The main question was simply to ask if all the parts were there for the install. And since you didn't deliver my screens with the window delivery (I had to call back for those too), I'd say it was a valid question. BTW, being someone who mainly just posts negative reviews doesn't suggest anything about me or the honesty of my reviews. It's quite common for people who normally wouldn't bother to post reviews at all, to go to the trouble only when they feel strongly about something one way or the other. But nice try tho!

After leaving voicemails for 3 other businesses who never called back, I found Don on Yelp, called, and he picked up right away. I told him I was needing a bedroom window replaced and gave him the ballpark dimensions of the window measurements. He asked some questions I didn't know the answers to, but was patient and helpful with walking me through how to tell the difference in order to answer. I liked that I was able to text him a picture of the window so that he could visually see what I was talking about, and he was able to give me an estimate soon after. He came out later the same day to assess the window and take accurate measurements. He gave us an estimated time of when he would be able to replace the window (he came out on a Thursday and got the window replaced by the following Tuesday) and was on his way. Throughout the entire process, I appreciated Don's clear communication along with the updates. The pricing was reasonable and the install was quick (even though I talked his ear off the whole time) and took less than an hour. He cleaned up any mess the install left behind and even wore shoe covers when he had to come inside to get to the window. Don was respectful, transparent, and was able to maintain great communication throughout the entire process. His pricing was fair and the installation was quicker than expected, but efficient. We would use Don again in the future since we had such a great first experience and love to support small business owners!

Our house was built in 1995 and the windows had been replaced once (according to neighbors) but…read morethey were very cheap quality. With the heat we've had the past few summers and then the snow that seems to be a yearly event now, we thought it was time to get a really good widow upgrade. We also wanted out house painted after installation and Clear Choice set that up for us as well. (See my review for Triple A Painting). What we loved most about dealing with Clear Choice Windows & Doors was the personalized service we received. They have a large selection of window frame materials to choose from and our choice of fiberglass was an easy one. It was explained to us that fiberglass windows are stronger than both vinyl and wood, making them incredibly resilient to weather and climate -- perfect for PNW homeowners. From start to finish, our team of window installers provided friendly service, excellent craftsmanship, and it took only two days to install the 10 new windows in our home. Before, during and after, the team cleaned up and kept the work site tidy at all times. There was minimal damage to our landscaping as well. We can feel a definite difference in the inside temperature of our house since the new windows were installed. Our AC doesn't seem to work as hard and it takes less time to cool off in the summer and to heat in the winter. The outside look is classy and fits well with the style of our house and the neighborhood. We highly recommend Clear Choice Windows & Doors if you're looking for new windows.

Greensavers should be called lifesavers after the solid they did me. I have used Greensavers in…read morethe past for weatherization jobs and recommended them to friends who have also hired them. I recently purchased a home that needed a lot of love and Greensavers was one of the contractors that gave me a bid for work paid for by a home energy improvement loan. Two weeks before Greensavers were to come I called a different mechanical contractor to do a routine furnace maintenance. The tech discovered the unit was damaged. It was possible it could leak gas. I had a negative expereince with the contractor (another company) who performed the service. I did not feel comfortable moving forward with that company to do the furnace replacement so I called Greensavers the same day. I explained the situation, that the furnace needed to stay off even though it was getting colder and Mira came out that same day to work through the options with me. This required a lot of leg work for Mira and the team as supply chain issues for HVAC units, HVAC sizing, schedule and availability, space and electrical constraints, incentive programs and budget all had to be considered. There were so many moving parts! Within a couple of business days she had reviewed the incentives, consulted their HVAC techs, project managers, schedulers and gave me several options that would keep the total project dollar amount at the same level as the original scope of work and with the potential to get the job done soon so that the house would have heat. We walked through all of the potential pros and cons of the new scope of work: full electrification, air sealing, weatherization and ultimately landed on a plan that would improve comfort, energy efficiency, air quality and actually ended up costing less than the original scope. The team actually managed to get both the HVAC replacement and the weatherization job scheduled and completed during the same time frame for which the original job has been scheduled - despite the huge changeup in scope. When Mira handed off the job to Charlie (the project manager) and Daniel (the field crew lead) I was so impressed with how customer service oriented they were: they always asked me about the tradeoffs and gave their honest opinions about whether aspects of the job were worth it. Even seemingly little stuff - like would I still want the door weather stripping if there were a possibility it might damaged the newly renovated hardwoods - showed me they not just there to check a box - they were acting like partners in this project and showing they cared about my house and much as I do. This is a firm that specializes in clean electrification and we went deep into considering full electrification of this home, but due to sizing and supply chain issues it just didn't seem practical to go that route given that the heat was off and it could push the job out significantly. Charlie explained a few future options where an attic heat pump could use the furnace as auxiliary heat during cold weather days. I hadn't heard of this option before but when I checked with my energy efficiency and heat pump expert friends they were all aware that this was a great option for people who for reasons like mine ended up having to go with a gas furnace replacement due to timing, budget or both. Charlie and the crew always advocated for the best solution practical even if that meant that I would end up paying them less for the job overall. I super appreciated his and Mira's friendly and proactive approach to answering questions, explaining options and working with constraints. This week their crews came and did a fast, clean and efficient job of installing the new furnace and thermostat, insulating and air sealing the unfinished basement and HVAC ducts. They thought through all of the little details - they ran the line for the furnace condensate pump to an interior drain. This is a big deal. The condensate pump on my last furnace runs to the exterior of my house (a typical configuration) but this means when we have a cold snap it freezes and shuts down the HVAC completely. Their crew had already anticipated this potential problem before I brought it up! They ran new ductwork where the previous occupant had made some odd changes that interfered with window clearances. Somehow - even given the non standard size of the ducting and odd placement - Daniel and his team fit both the ducting and insulation in a way where the window could be operable. They were respectful and left the job site clean. I am so thrilled to have a warm, cozy home in time for the holidays. Thank you to the whole crew at Greensavers. Appreciate you.

My opinion... It is based on my horrible experience with Serenity Windows over installation of 38…read morewindows in December 2025. If we had fewer than 20 windows to replace, I would not be aware of these problems. I suspect that this is the case with the customers who left positive reviews for Serenity Windows. We also had Serenity's work inspected by 3 separate companies. All 3 companies came to the same conclusion: the work is done incorrectly and definitely not by manufacturers' specifications. Stay away from Serenity Windows: they will charge you for correct installation but will do a horrible job that will destroy your house, if left uncorrected. There are reputable exterior remodel and window installation companies. Some of them will give you up to 30 year warranty; use these reputable companies. In my opinion, Serenity is highly unethical, dishonest and incompetent operation. They lied to me about everything. I initially signed a contract with another company. After the windows were ordered, I learned that several windows were incorrectly ordered and that the work would be done by a random subcontractor. We terminated contract on mutually agreed terms with the help of the attorneys before any work was done. I was open with DJ and Hannah why I terminated the contract with the other company. Serenity assured me they have Milgard trained and certified installers and that Milgard asks them to fix problems caused by other installers (this is a lie). They assured me that the work will be done according to manufacturers' specification, as required by our contract. After 20 windows, I started to suspect that Serenity has no clue what they are doing, but DJ and Hannah told me to trust them. Initially, I trusted them as I did not expect a contractor to be so untrustworthy. Also, I did not think that any REASONABLE contractor would be so unwise as to clearly breach the contract by not installing the windows per manufacturers' specification, as required by our contract. I finally called Milgard and our building inspector. I found out that Serenity is not Milgard certified. I got installation instructions and forwarded to Serenity, but they chose to ignore the instructions. Only after I forwarded email from the building inspector stating that Serenity is installing windows incorrectly, DJ admitted that they are doing this wrong. DJ also told me that if they fix this step, the installation would be up to manufacturers' specifications. This is another lie. I did not know about multiple additional problems until 3 reputable window replacement companies examined Serenity's work. DJ also lied about repairing dry rot around the windows and charged me for it. We just removed the trim and dry rot is still there. They damaged window frames by incorrectly placing screws. They lied to me about properly placed "flashing". This tiny piece of metal (1-1.5in when it should be 4-6 in) was sitting behind the siding on all of the windows that we have exposed so far (not behind the house wrap, as it should be). There are multiple other problems, but I have only a limited number of words that I can use in a review. I almost called the police on DJ on March 16, 2026. I told him that his work needs to be taken apart and redone as they left my house open to water damage and pest intrusion and I would be withholding $400 (I was going to withhold the 2nd half of the payment, $26125, until the work is corrected, but they charged my credit card for $26125 even after I told them in writing to remove my card from their files and never charge it). However, DJ stopped the installation of the last window and started threatening me. At that point I was done trying to work with Serenity and was ready to call 911, but he left. Check Woods General Contracting, their most recent adventure (before Serenity). Low volume production (2014-2020). Even with that low volume and short time in business, they managed to get 2 CCB complaints and 1 disciplinary action from CCB. In April of 2020, they decided to rebrand themselves as Serenity Windows: no building inspections to deal with; after the trim is on, most homeowners will leave the windows alone until there is a huge problem with dry rot. By the time you discover dry rot, Serenity's 1 or 2-year warranty will expire. We are in the process of fixing their damage and dealing with unauthorized credit card charges. We will be sending them a bill for repairs.
