I have the fortune (or unfortunate) to have gone to Reliance 3+ times in the last couple of years. Elias takes care of his customers and makes sure the repair is up to the customer's standard -- or he'll take care of it. He really cares about his customers and doing a great job. He'll go above and beyond if he sees something that isn't quite right (e.g. change the screws on our license plate because they were stripped). A couple of years ago my husband used the insurance recommended auto body shop, and they didn't do a great job. When we got into a second accident, I insisted on using Reliance. This review is way overdue. I have had 2 separate experiences with this shop. The first one was when I was in desperate need to get my bumper fixed after being rear ended. He was extremely responsive and took care of me right away. He took my car in and fixed it in no time. My car looked great and also my car was returned cleaner than it was when we brought it in. I could not be more pleased with my experience. One month ago when I least expected, my car was hit once again and the accident left damage to the whole right side of my vehicle. These guys are amazing and above all kind people. Somebody did a hit and run on my front bumper, side and they were able to fix it, after I went to another place and they told me over $2,500! Reliance, on the other hand, worked with me and explained the costs and what it would take to fix it, they treated me like a person foremost and they will always have my business because of that. They were realistic and honest and FAST, they told me they would have it done by Thursday and it was done on Wednesday, with the look of it I was skeptical but when I came it looked better than new. My experience with Reliance after my car accident was not a pleasant one. . Total time in the shop: 43 days. . Time to locate and order one part that was holding up repairs: 25 days . Times I was told my car would be ready but in fact it was not: 3 different days. . Rental cars provided to me from Reliance that had issues: 2. One smelled terribly of cigarette smoke and the other's headlights didn't work (found this out driving at night). .Times I was promised call backs and never received them: Multiple. When I finally did pick up my car, I noticed a weird vibrating noise. I also noticed poor work on the undercarriage of my car. There was push-in fasteners missing and the front of my bumper seemed a little loose. I took the car on a lengthy drive with the shops owner and pointed out the noise to him. The noise was very audibly noticeable. He kept denying the noise and said there was nothing wrong with the car. I must've pointed out the obvious noise 5 or more times and he denied it each time. I demanded that he resolve the issue. So he takes my car to a mechanic friend of his. This mechanic tries to tell me that my rear shocks are leaking and my alignment is incorrect. My alignment was just done by Toyota and my car was nearly new. The accident was minor and only involved the front of my car. I explained to him how I did not believe him and demanded Reliance's owner to have someone else take a look. At this time he gets defensive and tells me "I don't have to help you. I could just tell you to take your car off my lot." The way Reliance was making it sound made it seem like they were trying to charge me for something unrelated to the accident. This of course would not go well for me and my insurance claim. Fast forward, he takes my car to Toyota. They determine that the alignment is good and my shocks were NOT leaking. Reliance and the mechanic friend were trying to screw me over it felt like. I test drive with a manager at Toyota and point out the noise. The issue was identified and resolved. tl;dr: Broken promises. Poor service. I felt like I was getting scammed multiple times. Owner threatened he could throw my car out of his lot if he wanted. Toyota had to fix my car after Reliance couldn't do the job right. The stress and headaches from dealing with them made for a difficult month and a half. I wish I went elsewhere. read more

I had been driving around with a torn bumper for a while and finally had the time & money to get it fixed. I messaged a bunch of auto body shops and heard back from 2. Reliance Auto Body & another one on the same block. Elias was so prompt at responding to all my questions and could give me a firm date when my car would be done. The other shop could only tell me maybe it'd be done in a week. And when I told Elias the other shop quoted me a cheaper price he not only matched it but beat it! On top of that he didn't even wait to order my new bumper he had me send him a photos of the damage that when I dropped off my car the next day the bumper was already there! He originally said he could get me my car back a week later, but I got it back in less than 24 hours!!! 2 days before Christmas no less! He even took time to wash my car. I am a perfectionist, and I am not exaggerating at all when I say that I pay attention to the most minute detail of all the things I own. I drive a 2015 Honda Civic in Pearl White, and I keep it looking as clean as possible. So you can imagine my dismay when I another driver hit the front left side of my car and took off. The left side panel, bumper, headlight and foglight were damaged.) I've only been in the East Bay for two months, so I was clueless as to where I should go to get it fixed. I have a Mazda 3 that needed some body work done; with a huge dent on the hood and needed the front bumper replaced. I live in Hayward and went to a few body shops I've looked up on yelp and the quotes they gave me were a little high but i was willing to spend as much as it would cost to fix the damage because I couldn't stand looking at my damaged car.  I was then referred to Elias at Reliance Auto Body and that he could get the job done.
