    Halibut and chips
    Michelle N.

I decided to try this place because I saw it on instagram. Sadly it was just very disappointing. Ordered the fish taco, poutine, and the halibut and chips. Fish taco was not bad. But everything else is a disaster. The taco isn't really a taco. But it was flavourful. The poutine. Made with sad sad sad gravy. The picture says 1000 words. And not looking at yelp and what other people reviewed. It happened to us. It wasn't halibut. At least it if it was. It must of been super old because wasn't firm at all. The fries are quite soggy. The oil taste the old, the oil need changing, and everything come out dark in colour.

Nice and friendly Pretty sure I didn't get the halibut I ordered. Haddock? (Photo), smelled water more fishy than I'm used to with FISH CHIPS; kept wondering; am I going to get sick....? Which begs the question; why eat it...? I don't know

    Cod and chips

The fish was properly cooked (crispy, no raw batter), which is my most important criterion in a fish and chip place. But the batter and the chips were heavily seasoned with something like Lawry's seasoning salt. I didn't dislike the flavour, but I fundamentally want my fish and chips to taste like fish and potatoes! I also prefer my chips to be fatter--these were more like fries than proper chips. So I enjoyed it, but not really to my taste. Also quite expensive ($20 plus tip for one piece of cod and chips with a pop). B+

Decently prepared; nice location; comfortable for eating in. Expensive compared to other comparable shops in the East End.

This location does gluten free, so definitely worth looking into if you need to/ are avoiding gluten. I wasn't craving something so deep fried so I got the shrimp po-boy. The fish and chips my bf ordered were delicious. Good fry, the fries tasted good, and the vinegar coselaw was good. The po boy wasn't as great. The shrimp were cooked beautifully but the bun was cut completely open, so you get the top bread and bottom bread separated. It was impossible to eat. As soon as I picked up the roll, the structural integrity failed and all my "stuffings" fell onto the plate. It was no fun eating with the fork and knife. Flavours were good though. The creamy coselaw was not my cup of tea. It was very mayo-y, which was a bit difficult for me to enjoy. I think it needed a little something citrus to brighten it up. I also was looking forward to my brussel sprouts, which were unfortunately forgotten and I never ended up getting them. By the end, it wasn't on my bill either so I think they just kept forgetting about them. They were definitely available though because someone at our table ordered them to-go. Overall, service was friendly. If you're in the area and looking for some fish and chips to hit the spot, this might be the place for you.
