Hooky's Fish and Chips is located inside Wellington Market at The Well. They actually used to be located across from Trinity Bellwoods and I never got to try them until recently. They specialize in fish and chips of course but also offer calamari, prawns, shrimp, scallops and clams as well as tacos (shrimp and fish). In terms of fish options, they have halibut, haddock or cod. I visited Hooky's a Friday afternoon for a late lunch. I placed my order at at the cashier and waited about 5 min for my order to be made. All of their orders are made to order which makes a difference! Service was friendly. I opted to get 3 shrimp tacos which were filling. The shrimp was coated nicely with batter and had a good crisp to it. One of the sauces had a slight spicy kick to it but it elevated the taco. Overall, I enjoyed my shrimp tacos and I was definitely full afterwards! Will return in the future to try their fish and chips.

It's a food court but in a nice building at front and Spadina. Well is the name. We had a poutine - good amount of cheese curds and fries. The so-so the chips a bit too brown but that is because the oil could be changed sooner I also had crab sandwich $12 very good price was tasty for an extra $5 you got fries and a can of pop Overall it was good and if I was looking for food in the neighbourhood it would be worth checking it out. There are lots to choose from in there though.

Pretty tasty fish-n-chips place in The Well. Freshly made to order with an acceptable 10-min waiting. Crispy with good sizes. Nice fish texture and piping hot. Simply delicious and would probably come back. Recommended!

Ok this is my first trip to 'The well' food court. There are quite a few options here but the other folks I came along with wanted to try this place. I went with the halibut and chips. A decent offering though the portion size imo is smaller than I expected at this price point. This seems to trend in TO though open a new food court and start charging dine in table restaurant prices. Decent option at this for court as the other options didn't entice.

This location does gluten free, so definitely worth looking into if you need to/ are avoiding gluten. I wasn't craving something so deep fried so I got the shrimp po-boy. The fish and chips my bf ordered were delicious. Good fry, the fries tasted good, and the vinegar coselaw was good. The po boy wasn't as great. The shrimp were cooked beautifully but the bun was cut completely open, so you get the top bread and bottom bread separated. It was impossible to eat. As soon as I picked up the roll, the structural integrity failed and all my "stuffings" fell onto the plate. It was no fun eating with the fork and knife. Flavours were good though. The creamy coselaw was not my cup of tea. It was very mayo-y, which was a bit difficult for me to enjoy. I think it needed a little something citrus to brighten it up. I also was looking forward to my brussel sprouts, which were unfortunately forgotten and I never ended up getting them. By the end, it wasn't on my bill either so I think they just kept forgetting about them. They were definitely available though because someone at our table ordered them to-go. Overall, service was friendly. If you're in the area and looking for some fish and chips to hit the spot, this might be the place for you.

This had a good mixture of pistachio and almond flavours. It was mainly almond ice cream with pistachio pieces. The only difficulty is that 30% of the pieces were a little too big for the straw; probably this flavour was never meant to be used as a milkshake. I had to take tge straw out and such out the pieces from the other end. Review 2025-255

I tried the Peanut Butter Cup ice cream and the sugar-free Black Cherry. There are probably only one or two sugar-free options, but the pricing is really reasonable and definitely cheaper than the GTA. The Peanut Butter Cup was good, though I wish the chocolate flavor was a bit richer. I'd give it an 8/10. The Black Cherry was delicious and easily a 10/10. For food, I ordered the large fish and chips for $18. It's a great deal because the two pieces of fish are huge. The small order is $11.95. My picture didn't show it well since the second piece of fish was hiding underneath, but it was just as big. The fries are super thick, perfect for dipping in gravy. I got a side of gravy and loved it. It had that classic poutine flavor without being too salty. The only thing I'd change is I wish the fries were cooked a little longer. Overall, I'd give the fish and chips an 8/10. The diner itself is much bigger than I expected. You order at the counter, get a number, and they call it out when it's ready. What's cool is they also have speakers outside, so if you're waiting by the path or at the picnic tables, you can still hear your number. Bathrooms were clean too, which I always appreciate.
