We used the professional services of Reliable Appliances to diagnose and fix our Gaffers & Sattler oven from 1956. Lex was the technician from Reliable and the first visit he quickly diagnosed the issue and ordered the part that was needed to repair the oven. We were surprised that he was able to still find a part for such an old appliance. When the part came in, Lex returned and replaced the faulty part and went above and beyond to resolve this issue. He was very professional and very polite. We would highly recommend this business and would call upon them for future repairs on any of our appliances, and would request Lex as our technician. Tech cane to SERVICE my Viking range. Needed 2 heating elements. Almost 600.00 later, that's all that was done. No other service procedure done. Still having problems with the stove burners. The tech left a screw uninstalled and when I call him to let him know, he said, "Yeah, I dropped it and couldn't find it so I replaced it with one I had." Meanwhile, I could see where it was still missing. He also didn't install the lower cover. These guys have a real problem with honesty. DEFINITELY FIND SOMEONE ELSE! Oh , and Carlos, don't send me your prewritten response. The fact that you have a prewritten response for one star is laughable. Too bad there isn't an option for 0, or even negative stars on this platform read more

Charlie, was amazing. My dryer was not providing heat. He not only showed me the problem and how to fix it. He was very honest, about it and showed me how to use the switch. Who does that? There losing business. Like I said he's honest, and wants his clients to know what and where the problem came from. He fixed the problem and still had time to look at my tenants washer as well. Him and his wife are the amazing duo. I highly recommend them. Will use them again in the future. read more

We recommend Charlie after numerous positive experiences!! Charlie was fantastic to work with when we had a gas leak in our Forno oven that several people had struggled to pinpoint. The issue was tricky and hard to detect, but Charlie took the time to carefully inspect everything, explain what he was checking, and methodically track down the problem. His attention to detail and persistence really paid off--he found the source of the leak and fixed it safely and efficiently. It's clear he knows his craft and takes safety seriously. I really appreciated his professionalism and patience throughout the process. Highly recommend Charlie if you need someone knowledgeable and thorough. After such a great experience the first time, we called Charlie again when our Forno oven suddenly stopped turning on. Once again, he was prompt, friendly, and quick to diagnose the issue. He was able to repair it without any hassle. I really appreciate that he explains things clearly and focuses on fixing the problem instead of pushing unnecessary replacements. It's rare to find someone this reliable, and having a technician we trust makes a big difference. We'll definitely continue calling Charlie for any future appliance repairs. Charlie and Michelle were fantastic. Our dryer suddenly stopped heating and they quickly figured out it was just a safety switch instead of trying to sell us unnecessary parts or expensive repairs. Charlie took the time to show us what happened and even walked us through how to safely clean the dryer ourselves in the future. They also cleaned lint buildup inside the dryer and checked the fan area in our refrigerator while they were here. Super professional, honest, affordable, and genuinely helpful. We've used them before and will continue to call Charlie and Michelle whenever we need appliance service!! read more

Had our dryer fixed today. The repairman did a great job not too much cost and very nice

Charlie and the team are awesome. They fixed a pin hole leak in our pipe today. He crawled in the attic to make sure no leaks. He put the fan in our sink to dry out the area. This leak sounded like the shower was on. I appreciate Charlie's hard work. He has also fixed my refrigerator, washer and dryer in the past including cleaning out the vent to the dryer. Thank you Charlie read more

Two people from this company went to my home to diagnose my microwave that no longer worked. They came within the promised window and I was satisfied with the explanation they gave me on why my microwave was having problems shutting down so soon. I decide to buy a new microwave and Reliable Appliance Service texted me the link to order the compatible microwave from Home Depot. The new microwave came within 3 days and worked well. I was satisfied with the microwave they recommended me to purchase. read more

This is the second time I have used this company to fix a household appliance. First time was my dishwasher and it was a quick fix. Today I called them to fix my dryer as it was smelling burnt. The technician came and did the work in a short amount of time. I was shown the problem and again shown when it was fixed. I was also made aware of a potential problem in the future. I appreciate their honest and reliability. I will continue to call them whenever I need help and refer them as well. Thank you! read more

Reliable does not properly describe this company enough! They are reliable yes, but they're always honest, trustworthy, and honorable! When was the last time you worked with a blue collar company or individual and felt that much character from your first phone call and interaction? I called them in regard to having issues with my dryer not starting and they arrived within 30 mins! Diagnosed my issue within the hour and told me they would reschedule as soon as the part needed arrived... and they did just that. I also added a lint trap cleaning and the price was crazy reasonable I had to leave a tip on top. I am a total gal and could've been ripped off as I don't know anything about fixing appliances but they really helped me out, didn't mansplain, and I honestly felt like my uncles and aunt were just doing me a solid. LADIES WHO NEED HELP, PLEASE CALL THIS COMPANY! THEY WILL HOOK YOU UP NO BS!!!! Do yourself a favor and call these guys first. You won't need to call anyone else. ***PLEASE BEWARE*** there is another company with an almost identical name in the same specialty field and I'm seeing that people are mistakenly leaving nasty reviews here instead. read more

Yesterday, I scheduled a service call with Reliable Appliance Service because my washing machine was not functioning properly. The spin cycle was failing, the washer was not agitating the clothes, and when it did attempt to agitate it made a loud grinding noise. I also noted that the wash basket was not moving. Less than 20 minutes after arriving, the technician told me the entire suspension system needed to be replaced at a cost of over $600, and advised that it would be better to simply purchase a new washer. I questioned how the suspension could be the cause of the grinding noise when the drum was not even spinning. He responded by stating that suspension failure was a "common issue" with these machines, but did not provide a clear explanation. Since a new washer would cost approximately $800-$900, I declined the repair and reluctantly paid the $100 diagnostic fee. I would also like to note that the technician did not put on shoe covers or ask whether I wanted him to remove his shoes before entering my home, which I consider unprofessional. After he left, the diagnosis did not sit right with me. I am mechanically inclined and only called for service due to time constraints. Using a YouTube guide, I disassembled the washer myself. Within 20 minutes, I identified the actual cause of the failure: the plastic drive flange attached to the splined motor shaft was completely stripped. I went to a local appliance parts store and purchased the replacement part for $32. I also inspected the suspension rods, which I had been told would be a "really big job" to replace. The parts store confirmed that if the drum returns to position without excessive bouncing, the suspension is fine--which it was. This directly contradicted the technician's diagnosis. Today, I contacted Reliable Appliance Service and requested to speak with a supervisor. A representative named Vince returned my call. I explained the situation and requested a refund of the $100 diagnostic fee, as the diagnosis was clearly incorrect. Had I approved the recommended repair, I would have spent over $600 and the washer would still have been broken. Vince refused the refund and stood by the technician's diagnosis. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this company. The technician's assessment was inaccurate, the explanation was weak, and the refusal to acknowledge a clear error shows poor customer service. It appears their business model relies on providing inflated repair estimates close to the cost of replacement, knowing most customers will decline while still collecting the diagnostic fee. Use extreme caution. Unprofessional service, incorrect diagnosis, and poor customer support. read more

The service is fine. They came on time diagnosed the situation. Created an action plan. Then we implemented the action plan and so far no complaints. He was worried he came off a bit rude on the phone but I didn't think so, and besides I'd rather a competent rude person who can get the job done on the first try rather than an incompetent nice person who messes up and has to come several times to get the job done. read more

Yes, as the other person above mentioned, do not call the Reliable Appliance Service on 324 Coogan Way, El Cajon, CA they are just a scam business. The guy came, started to check clothes dryer and told my husband basically not to watch him working, that he would let him know when he was done. Then when he was done he said it would cost almost $700 for changing a belt and ball bearings. I was shocked at price, because I could get a new dryer for that price. They do this to just collect house call rate $100 for not repairing anything. Be aware. read more

Carlos answered the phone at 7:30pm and scheduled me for the following day, came in, did an assessment then ordered parts necessary to make the repair. Once the parts came in we worked together on a time, very easy to work with, they repaired my washer drain pump, then I asked for a deep cleaning of my dryer and vent line, they cleaned it better than I could've imagined, as seen in photos. My dryer and washer are working fantastic, they are easy to work with do quality work, and are reasonable on pricing. Thank you read more

Service was prompt. However they had to come back twice to install additional parts. They promptly came back to install new parts.

This company is NOT reliable!!! I had a tech come out to see why my washer was shaking when it went on the spin cycle so he charged me 99.99 to give me a quote so he tells me that the basket has to be replaced and it would cost 900.00 to replace it so I figured I might as well buy a new one keep in mind that The washer was working fine when he got here cuz we used it that morning it was just the shaking, next morning we go to use it to wash a small load and the lid locked sensor was flashing and it didn't go on so I called the company to see if the tech could come back so he could connect whatever he disconnected he was extremely rude and told me he didn't do anything to it and if he came back I would have to pay him another 99.99 so I asked to speak to his supervisor and he was just as rude as the tech he yelled at me and said they did nothing wrong even when I told him it was working fine before the tech looked at it...come to find out that the tech forced the lid open and broke the peice that locks the lid then I find out that the price he gave me for the basket was only 250.00 to his 600.00 and a 300.00 Labor fee talk about sticking it to a senior citizen on social security but that's what they feed off of old people who believe everything they say and then when there confronted they start yelling and getting upset for their mistakes... Do not trust this company!!!!!! And I don't even want to give them one star but it won't let me post until I rate them read more
