If I could give them zero stars I would. AVIS, CHANGE YOUR…read moreSIGNAGE! Picking up the car was easy. Returning it was a nightmare. I attempted to enter the Avis lot and the signs are Misleading. The sign says DO NOT ENTER severe tire damage if you do. So I exited and went around. Directions led me to exit the airport. I did this 3x. So I entered the do not enter entry and was told by two different young ladies two different directions to the drop off. When I got to her the third time I said listen. I'm gonna miss my flight if you give me wrong directions again. Finally she tells me where to go. I get on the shuttle bus and everyone has the same complaint. Avis you've got to do better!

I'm a longtime Avis loyalist and business traveler. Simply put, locations with no after-hours drop…read moreoptions simply don't work for me. Hard stop. I've rented in many states at large and small locations, and I've literally never had this issue. As this was my first rental in the state, I wasn't aware that this "no drop box" deal is commonplace in North Carolina, and I wish I'd been told at the counter at pickup. But, that's on me. I've now been educated that "North Carolina is different. All NC Avis locations outside of airports have no drop boxes or after-hours returns." Meanwhile, my husband casually throws out that Fuquay-Varina Enterprise (boo!) location has a drop box, and he's used it twice. -- We're clearly a house divided on preferred rental companies. So my reply to that is-- Be an Avis trailblazer in this state! What a simple accommodation to consider, and a huge missed opportunity for added convenience for your customers. (Or do I join the Enterprise ranks when I'm in NC now? I'll have to chew on that a while.) Lord forbid someone's delayed or life happens. I showed up at 1:15PM on a Sunday, and after parking on the 5th level in the garage across the street and entering the hotel lobby, I had no way to return my vehicle, other than to go back to the garage across the street and take the vehicle to the airport and try the return process again. How's that for convenience, with a looming engagement to get to. Seriously? Charge me for an extra day, but please (for the love of all that is holy) let me return the keys after all the hoops I had to jump through while backpacking to and fro in downtown Raleigh in hopes of returning a car. It cannot be this complicated. Going forward, and as much as I can help it-- it's airport only for me in these parts. Lesson learned, le sigh. I called a day before I needed the rental to ensure they had vehicles. After we spoke of the logistics I went online and reserved the vehicle. Having to take off time from work, get a vehicle to pack up my daughter's dorm room hours away and return in a timely manner my stress levels were a little high. The process was a breeze. Justin was there in the morning when I picked up the vehicle. He adjusted the seats inside the vehicle so it would be easy for me to load it up. They ensured there was space at the rental location for me to leave my car which my daughter picked up later that day. Shaniya went over all the logistics on her trusty iPad and quickly sent us on our way. In the return the next morning Justin was there to greet me and drop me off home. Thank you Enterprise Staff for being there in a time of need. It is greatly appreciated. We will definitely be back again.

Imagine going to rent a car only to be confronted with a CSI scene. The car was splattered with…read moreblood down the passenger side and over both door handles and doors. Dont know if human or animal but definitely blood. When I questioned the biohazard, the associate, Ryan, looked at me and said, "I guess we can wash it off if you really want." Like how is that a question and in what world is this okay? He was completely indifferent. I asked for a different car and he responded with "I am afraid we can't rent to you." He then walked off. I was absolutely dumb-struck. At the end, they ended up washing the car and I rented it but not without a great deal of intervention(2 hrs worth). Do NOT expect good customer service nor a clean and biohazard free experience at this location. The manager also never reached out.
