They have a comfortable couch to wait on and everything was clean and bright, the music was relaxing and not annoying. I love this place. I have had a great experience every time I've been here. All the practitioners that have worked on me are solid. The only thing that is hard and keeps me from coming back more frequently is the overpowering scent of fabric softener. It's so overwhelming. I think they have toned it down a little. I really appreciate how they have a sign-in sheet that specifically asks about pressure (1-7) and speed (very slow--fast). I always thought it would be incredibly helpful when I went to previous massage places in the I.D., so I love that they have this! I've been here a few times, and this place is worth it. At this point, the only thing preventing me from giving 5 stars is the consistency in pressure. We've gone three times so far. I chose a 3-pressure the first time, and the last two times, I chose a 1. On the second visit (or my first time requesting a 1), the pressure was still too hard (it felt more like a 3+), so I was slightly disappointed. On the most recent visit, though, I was VERY happy with the pressure and felt that it matched a 1 (worth noting that I was a little more vocal about wanting 'very soft/1' pressure. read more

There's one woman here that is a decent masseuse...the rest of the staff have no idea what they're doing. If you get one of the men, hold on for dear life. I asked for medium pressure and was hurt over and over again throughout my session. Everytime I I said "ouch!", the guy laughed. Then one of the women laughed when she walked by. I asked several times for softer pressure, but he'd say "ok, ok", but would continue punching my legs, back, and feet. I'm 60 and don't need a man pounding on my body. I'm sure I'll have bruises tomorrow. Do yourself a favor and go to a real masseuse...I'm not sure these people have and real training. read more

I was greeted with a bottle of water and a sheet with the level of pressure and speed you want. I picked two. Because I'm kind of a baby when it comes to the shoulders. I got the combo of the table and the foot/leg reflexology. It was fantastic and amazing for the price. No, not everybody speaks fluent English. But there is no lack of communication. She asked if it was too rough at one point and I said it's a little bit. Could you go a little softer and she said softer and then did softer. So communication is not an issue. I've been looking for an alternative to my usual Chinese massage place, since they raised their rate a lot. Really happy I found this place. Not sure if their prices will always be this low, but I paid $21 for a 30 minute table massage (I tipped generously because that rate does not feel sustainable for a business located in Ballard). As is typical, there is a big language barrier- you fill out a card specifying your preferred level of pressure (1-7). I chose 6 because Chinese massage like this is really effective with a lot of pressure, if you can tolerate it. You stay fully clothed- they put a blanket on top of you and massage you through that, while wearing gloves. For a quick tune up massage like this, I prefer this to getting all oiled up on bare skin. They are still able to use friction to generate heat and get you loose and stretched. This place is very clean and spacious. They were pretty empty on a Sunday afternoon, but hopefully word of mouth will bring them more business. There is a similar spot right across the street. read more
