A total hole in the wall place. They ask for money up front, which is not very professional. It is $60 for a massage, I left a $10 dollars tip, even though they charge two dollars if you use the debit card, which is unreasonable. Masseuse lady barely spoke English. Towards the end of the massage she tried harassing me in broken English saying $10 is for 30 min massage, I need to give her $20. I don't think this is how tipping works in US, but whatever, she probably isn't here legally, so she has no clue. After I was being taken to the room, I undressed to my boxers, as usual, but upon her return she demanded everything off and would not even leave the room for me to be comfortable and did not provide any privacy sheet like normal massage places do. Whatever, I come from Eastern Europe, so I am not super uncomfortable with that, but I totally see how that would not be a good experience for others. About 40 min into massage, she asked me to turn over, and soon after mentioned "only 10 dollars tip, need 20" and proceeded to ask if I wanted massage "down there". That was totally a barbarian experience, I felt like I was in the room with a hooker at that point. I obviously declined her advances, gave her another 10 dollars not to ever come back to this "massage" place. Why can't you just provide normal massage?! What's up with the weird offers??? I arrived here at about 8:34 pm earlier this evening. I entered the door and a door bell like tone chimed. I glanced at a sign indicating their prices and compared to what I was quoted over the phone earlier.  Body massage $60 which was on par. Several moments later I was greeted by my masseuse, who did not introduced herself but quickly led to one of the massage rooms behind a curtain. After getting undressed and situated, she proceeded with her massage. I told her I was particularly sore on my neck and shoulders, hips, and sciatica.  I wasn't seeing track of time due to the clock on the opposite wall that I was facing. I felt as if her massage wasn't skilled. Her pressure was strong which is nice to get the knots out but in no time did I find it the least bit relaxing. I found myself actually clenching my fingers from the pain. I would tell her ouch that hurts often. When she was working on my left shoulder, my opposite lower back was cramping.  I pointed this out to her and she massaged it. She also proceeded to keep rubbing just one spot on either side of my neck til I was getting migrainous and was missing the actual sore area. When she was massaging my calves, her pressure was light. My calves are one of my tightest muscles and every massage therapist I've been to has pointed this out. It asked her to go deeper. There was no attention paid to my thighs. After that point, she proceeded with a hot towel to wipe my legs and back. Then she said OK loudly and asked if I wanted water.  She left the room and came back with the tiny cup of water and said I thought you were getting dressed I was waiting for you up front. I looked at the clock and realized it had been an hour and that she was just trying to hurry the calves at the end of my hour. Then as I was about to leave, she came to the room with the credit card slip asking for more tip. To be honest, I tipped her minimal. I was appalled because I felt I was shorted half a massage. Every place I have gotten a massage is a body massage which means both front and back. Especially for that price.  A back massage would indicate the whole back side. Their sign was purposely deceptive. I had not told her to only do my neck and shoulders. She said the $60 is all her bosses, $2 for the credit card company, and she works only on tips. I can appreciate the hard work she did. So I wanted her to get a little more tip. It wasn't her fault about the deceptive practices, but I the hell didn't want to pay full price. I was pissed. So I tried to negotiate the charge to $52 and a $10 tip. The 3 women dialed up their boss Ringo and proceeded to discuss the situation in Korean with him. Ringo and I spoke on speaker phone in front of the ladies. He accused me of making her do extra work. He was completely unprofessional and would not even give out his full name.  This place is registered to Chun Wing Choi which may or may not be Ringo. This place is run like he's a pimp and these girls are slaves afraid of him and forced to comply. Their business card is Lavender Massage, registered to Jie Tang which is on 312th. Apparently, after research, I discovered this very similar scam was pulled here at Lavender. Note the past Yelp review. I noticed that these two locations are currently listed on rubmaps as erotic massage places which indicates why they have a posting in the room stating massage services only but if you want extra services then it's I think $20 for 10 minutes, $60 for $35 minutes. Suspicious? So BEWARE. DO NOT come here. I ended up paying for full price plus $10 tip. I am very upset because I felt totally ripped off. I will go to a reputable licensed massage therapist that I can trust to do an excellent job even if I have to wait (she is also Asian). I won't go to some Asian parlor fake "masseuse"girls. I shouldn't have caved because knowing what I know now I believe the girl was in on it from the get go and possibly pulled this scam in the past but I was naiive and soft hearted and super pissed I just had to leave. read more
