It is a one bedroom apartment with a queen sized bed and a pull-out couch that is very comfortable for kids or another couple. All of the furniture is new and tasteful (mostly from IKEA). There is a spacious kitchen, complete with all the essential gear for cooking or baking. There is also a toaster, Italian Moka Pot (Espresso), Teapot, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, gas stove, oven and of course many (new) plates , bowls, utensils, wine glasses etc. The bathroom is clean and bright which includes sink, toilet and shower. One of the nicest features of the apartment is the small intimate terrace that seats two people and is fantastic for a romantic morning coffee or having a glass of wine at sunset . The apartment gets its' name "tra i tetti" or "among the rooftops" from the beautiful view of the Italian terra-cotta rooftops. The apartment is on the top floor so the view is quite nice. That being said, those with knee problems or who are not able to do stairs, this apartment may be problematic because the apartment is on the top floor of a building with no elevator. If you are here for the first time, the location of the apartment couldn't be more perfect. It's only 5 minutes from the central train station and easy to walk to. Plus you are right in the center of Florence! Being on the top floor there is very little noise once the windows are closed. There are no trash bins on this street so you won't be bothered by the noisy garbage collectors that come early in the morning. The apartment has all your basic needs ready upon check-in. All linen and towels are provided, as well as your basic condiments for cooking like oil, salt, sugar, coffee, tea and soap for dishes and laundry. Check in/out times are often flexible as well. Great place to call home for first time visitors or seasoned travelers of this beautiful city.

I traveled with my sister and friend and we felt totally safe at Hotel Albion all 4 nights. At times, the hotel seems like it is out of a fairytale... and is clean and well kept. It feels more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. The bathroom is modern and the shower was nice and hot every day! The building is old (like most buildings in Florence) and the rooms are simple but have all of the necessities. I would recommend bringing earplugs or requesting a room facing away from the street. It could be quite loud at night, especially on Saturday night. Breakfast was just okay, but the cappuccino was personally made to order each morning! This hotel was a perfect compliment to our stay in Florence. It was a quick cab ride to the main train station and within walking distance of ALL major sites in Florence. **If you are looking for a modern hotel that is shiny and new, this may not be the hotel for you, but if you want a clean, safe hotel with a lot of history and character with a caring staff then this is your place.

Just follow those red signs and pick up your entrance ticket and ignore the looks of those in the queues. We didn't use the card for transport as we love walking around the city, you miss so much on a bus. Anyway, everything is within a 15 minute walk. The only time that there was a queue was at the Galleria dell'Accademia. However, this was our fault. Should we have arrived earlier it would have worked. Get the card either online before you leave (you are given a code to pick up your card at various points around the city) or buy one at your first museum visit.

Problems we had included unable to get onto the Wi Fi in advertised hot spots, were told we had to pay to access the Medici Chapels even though it is clearly listed in the guidebook, and we're not told that Firenze Card tickets to the Duomo expire after 3 days, not 6 as listed on the tickets. In certain locations, it is clearly shown where Firenze Card holders can enter with priority access - such as no questions asked at the Palazzo Pitti and Uffizi Gallery. We still waited in quite a line at the Accademia Gallery, but nothing compared to the general public. It would also be nice to be given bus route maps with your passes. As I've found in Italy, they do not do the greatest job of explaining how things work. You're left to figure it out on your own and mind read a lot of the time. With advance planning, you can definitely take full advantage and save a lot of time and money visiting the sites in Florence. I've just experienced more organized cards in places like Paris where you don't have to go to get tickets to attractions in one line, you're just granted access with your pass.

First, the ambiance is Magnificent. 10 rooms located in a 16th century mansion w/the original frescoes. When we were led into our "room" it felt like stepping into a museum. BUT, it has modern amenities. For example, our room had a huge jacuzzi tub and the shower had strong water pressure. Further, there's a minibar which is included. Second, customer service is exceptional. All staff was friendly and went above and beyond. Husband kept saying he felt like he as in Downton Abbey. Here are just some of the ways: -Arranged car transport whenever needed -Coffee or tea morning or afternoon, its always brought with other snacks (cookies, biscotti, etc.) on a tray -Arranged restaurant reservations whenever needed -Prosecco or wine in the early evening (again, with snacks on a tray) Its a bed & breakfast, so the breakfast in the dining room was excellent (cheese & meats from local farms; eggs & bacon, pastries, fresh orange juice, fresh yogurt, etc.) There's a gorgeous outside patio, but it was a little rainy & cold so we were unable to enjoy dining outside. This place is about 30 minutes outside of Florence which we made that drive twice, once to explore the city and once to do a guided wine tour that left from Florence. The sunset here was beautiful, the room was clean, and the staff was so nice. We got massages in the spa as well and they were incredible. If you want to feel like you're experiencing the beauty of Tuscany I would recommend this place to anyone.

We were starving, it was rainy and just got off the train from Rome so we even had our luggage. The service was impeccable, they took care of our coats and luggage right away and seated us. I usually don't get impressed by decors of restaurants but the color and the elements and the layout of the restaurant somehow just gave me the relaxation I needed. We loved our entire experience but the highlight was the food. Every single dish was beautifully prepared and so so delicious. We fell in love with truffle here. And don't think we have had truffle that blew our mind elsewhere after (including Michelin two and three stars). I can taste the chefs mastery of the ingredients. No dish was overly complicated but each ingredient and sauce just complemented each other perfectly. You feel like you are in the forest where the food comes from. It's one of the meals I remember the most vividly, even after 4 years. Even on our culinary journey throughout Italy, this was a clear highlight. My only regret is we didn't purchase the truffle products here. I highly recommend this restaurant!
