The leadership was great at communicating throughout the recruitment process. At the event, all staff members who worked with the volunteers loved doing so and the volunteers had great feed back too. I've also had the pleasure of volunteering myself. I love that the group offers a variety of organizations to become involved with. The flexibility has provided me a volunteer experience that works with my schedule. The other volunteers have always been wonderful and I know I'll continue to volunteer and recommend to friends. Thanks to Columbus Gives Back!

I have made legitimate friendships and had meaningful volunteering experiences. Sometimes, you just need to do something for someone else and CGB is an easy way to connect to volunteering events in the Columbus area. My favorite events locations include Meals on Wheels with LifeCare Alliance and the YWCA Family Center. Not only has CGB helped me help out the community, but I've had a chance to try some amazing restaurants with the volunteers after the events. I would highly recommend volunteering with this group if you're looking to meet people and do something good in the Columbus area.

The process was unnecessarily long, complicated, and frustrating from start to end. We were asked to fill out a form and provide an excessive amount of personal information, only for them to reach out 2 days later to schedule a meeting... which they canceled. Not once. Not twice. Three times. By the fourth attempt, we honestly should've taken that as a sign. When we finally made it to the Zoom call, we mentioned that we already have a cat, which we thought would help speed things up. Somehow, it did the opposite. We were told we had to submit our cat's vaccination records, and IF AND ONLY IF those were approved, we might be allowed to meet the kitten two weeks later, since she was in a foster home. At that point, we were done. We didn't send anything. Instead, we drove straight to the Humane Society. And what a difference. We walked in, met the most adorable kitten on the planet, petted her, filled out some basic paperwork, and were treated like normal, trustworthy people, not suspects under investigation. We walked out with our kitten in under two hours. This place was completely unserious, wildly inefficient, and a total waste of time.

Dublin Youth Athletics - Coaches who promote a hostile game should not be in charge of instructing and teaching young children

DYA Between my kids…read morethey have played in their league for over 10yrs. I cannot figure out if its the person(s) that run DYA or the coaches that are chosen/volunteer to coach or the different scale of people who have moved into Dublin in all those years to make it go downhill so bad. I actually like my daughters bball coach this year, he actually knows how to coach. But some of the other coaches on the other teams encourage the girls to be hostile beyond whats needed. Aggressive is a whole different level than hostile. I have played growing up and know the difference. I have even witnessed coaches being angry hostile on sidelines and parents are the worst. Some should be ashamed with their ill manners. Attacking high school refs, talking crap to other teams to children or about them loud enough to hear. Some parents even encouraging children to hurt others. Kind of ghetto mentality. Embarrassing people act like that. Unfortunately we will be saying good bye to DYA after this season. I really feel our money could be better spent in a league where sportsmanship, team player, positive leadership is a priority. The pic attached is a coach who encouraged his girls rough play. His teams parents should be so embarrassed of all the crap they talk through games at coaches girls and refs. You should all be ashamed. You may live in Dublin but your behavior definitely shows your not from here. What a shame

I called & left a voicemail which was returned promptly. Their staff person gave me detailed, specific instructions on how to best assist these cutie patooties until the morning as they were closing for the day. These instructions including information about this type of duckling & issues they encounter, appropriate shelter options & general care tips. I loaded the 9 ducklings into my car at 8:30am so that I could be there promptly when they opened at 9:00am. I rang the bell to notify them of my arrival & was greeted promptly & warmly. The staff provided me with an intake form that allowed for me to describe in detail what brought the animals there. Once that was complete I turned them over to their care where they will be receiving a medical evaluation & care. If possible they will be become part of another mallard family or they will likely be fostered. This is such a valuable service for these types of situations. I am an animal lover, so I am ever grateful for the opportunity that Ohio Wildlife Center provides to rescue those in need.

I absolutely love this food pantry. You can visit twice a month and you can receive produce, meat,…read moretoiletries, fruit, vegetables, pasta, potatoes, cereal and more! The staff are very friendly and helpful and they are always are willing to help with a smile. I really like the hours. The hours are convenient, and keep in mind the working family. For example, they have early Saturday hours, and two days during the week with one day in the morning and one day in the evening. Therefore, if you work a traditional 9 to 5 you can come after work. The lines are long though! Before COVID-19, we were able to go inside and shop. However, the Hilliard food pantry takes the pandemic very seriously and they converted to a drive-through method. You drive up, give them your information, and they load up your trunk. They do this very quickly but you will be in the line for a bit. There are some days that I come and things are very in and out, about 10 minutes. And there are other days where I'm there for almost an hour in the line. I can tell you that it's worth it. For struggling families, they do so much. Sometimes they have clothes, and shoes as well that have been donated. They even offer assistance during Thanksgiving and Christmas which includes food as well as toys. And the toys are good, they give bicycles almost every year. They also offer utility assistance once a year. The people here are just amazing. I said that already but I think I should say it again. Full disclosure here, I have pretty intense back and hip problems. One time I pulled up onto the line at the pantry, and my hip totally locked up on me. I was already in park but I couldn't lift my foot to the gas pedal. So, I was essentially holding up the line... unable to get out of the way or move forward. I called the pantry and told them the situation. Two women came out to help me! I am appreciative of what the Hilliard food pantry does for my family. Thank you!
