Had the breakfast formule: capuccino, jus d'orange, pain au chocolat, and omelette au fromage. Also tried the goat cheese and spinach quiche.
Positives +
- terrasse très agréable with view of two statues and a nice little park. We normally avoid sitting outdoors because of the cigarette smoke, but there's enough space here to spread out so very nice on a sunny, breezy day. Wouldn't mind coming back here just to sit outside and sip on kir.
- orange juice was freshly squeezed.
- omelette was pretty good with the Emmental cheese. It had a golden brown exterior, yet was thin and gooey on the inside.
Negatives -
- the coffee (Cafe Richard) was not the best, if you've tried it elsewhere
- pain au chocolat needed more crunch. Maybe it was not very fresh? Could not taste the butter. We both thought we've had better pains au chocolat elsewhere in Paris and the US.
- table bread was not artisan baguette, so it was not dense and crispy like we've been used to getting all over Paris. Since they're also a boulangerie and bake their own bread, we were surprised they chose to give this with our meal. It was not bad, just not artisan bread. read more
