After I am done bring it to the counter and get my bottle recycling money back. So easy. Every time I am here, I have never once needed to wait for a table to be available. Its busy but never super busy. I also like the fact that there is free parking behind. Another thing to note the Recycling Depot entrance is located at the back and not the front. As well the front doesn't look like a recycling depot but the back is like a whole different story.

We keep 6 large bins in our storage that we fill up with paper, cardboard, and shredded material and when they are full we give them a call and ask them to pick them up. Pick up is usually done the same week, but occassionally we've called later in the week and they have already done our area that week, so the pick up gets scheduled for the week following. Works out well for us. There hasn't been much of an increase in the price of the service over the years. They managed to reduce their fuel costs by adding new and more advanced trucks to their fleet, which allows them better fuel economy, so they didn't have to pass on increased costs to the customers. Great business, wonderful service, and very reasonable prices.

Parking is available in a small cramped lot next to the building, as well as on Powell outside of rush hour. The area is quite efficient, with large dollies and plenty of room for sorting empties. One nice thing about this location is that they also accept other electronics, such as lamps, clocks, and even car batteries. Many other locations don't. Special mention. I think this will be my new go-to place for saving things from the landfill.

Good for recycling stuff like electronics, which the City of Vancouver isn't taking for some reason as of the time of writing. The place has that sickly spilled smell of old beer cans, like the other locations. Found the bins I needed and dumped my stuff. Hopefully it saves a tree.

With my local grocery and liquor store refusing returns because of construction, I Iugged three dozen beer bottles and some miscellaneous beverage containers to this location in order to scrounge some coffee change. I took the bottles to the counter and confessed to the guy in sweet ear muffs that it was my first time, asking how best to sort the bottles. (Hey, I'm a follow-the-rules type of gal.) To make a sweeping generalization, I was expecting a grumpy-middle-age-man reply, but instead got a friendly direction to separate out the types of containers into the red trays and leave the beer bottles in their cases. As requested, I cordoned off the containers and redeemed them for the value of a coffee and muffin. True, the floor was sticky, the air stinky, and I tried desperately not to touch anything, but at least the service was friendly. Let's focus on the positive ; )

I was looking for a place that takes e-waste and it was pretty convenient that they take all kinds…read moreof things, including your standard cans / bottles. You simply drive straight into the parking lot and drop off your e-waste on pallets. There were a lot of random things already there like bulky TVs, monitors, etc. You might as well take any cans / bottles that you have at the same time. There's an express option if you don't have the time to wait around or if you don't want to manually count your containers. 1) Sign up for an account on their website. 2) Enter your phone number into the kiosk and print labels. 3) Stick 1 label on each bag of recycling (bags must be clear). 4) The containers will be counted for you, and the money will be direct deposited into your bank account. You can even export an excel that shows the quantities of each container that was counted. The only catch is that there is no guarantee that they will accurately count your bags. The first time I went to the Collingwood location, only 5 out of the 6 total bags were counted. I went again this weekend and tried my luck at the 2639 Kingsway location, and only 5 out of the 7 bags were counted. If contactless drop off is more of a priority to you then this would be a great option. But if you actually care about getting the accurate $ amount, the best way is to just count it all yourself.

Staff are very helpful though. They have dumpsters for all the main types of recyclables. Paper, cardboard, plastic, among others. Just empty out your car and drive off. Nice and quick. Personally I still think the Burnaby one (Eco-centre) is superior, but just go to the closest one and save a tree.
