I have been here a few times and consistently, the staff is courteous, upbeat and friendly. For only two staff working, they are fast, efficient and organized. During the down times, I see them sanitize the countertop and check the garbage. There is also a touch free basin to wash and dry your hands. Bonus, that the return price is better than other places ! Definitely worth the trip! The only little downside is that there is limited parking in the lot, but there are lots of side street parking neary.

Not just that, when I realized that he gave me a bit money less and informed him nicely, he even threw the money at me. Seriously, if he doesn't like his job, why even doing it? Located in Richmond and open Tuesday to Sunday 9am to 6pm. You drive into the location in your car, drop the stuff you want to recycle, and drive off. The place is super organized with bins for various objects and the place is clean. I like that the bins have names on it with a picture for easy sorting. The people are super nice and helpful. If you are unsure about what they can take to recycle, there is a website and a phone number. The inside is huge with all the tables placed in a square where you can sort your bottles and then wait for an attendant to come to you. There's a handy area to wash your hands. Good for recycling stuff like electronics, which the City of Vancouver isn't taking for some reason as of the time of writing. The place has that sickly spilled smell of old beer cans, like the other locations. Found the bins I needed and dumped my stuff. Hopefully it saves a tree.

With my local grocery and liquor store refusing returns because of construction, I Iugged three dozen beer bottles and some miscellaneous beverage containers to this location in order to scrounge some coffee change. I took the bottles to the counter and confessed to the guy in sweet ear muffs that it was my first time, asking how best to sort the bottles. (Hey, I'm a follow-the-rules type of gal.) To make a sweeping generalization, I was expecting a grumpy-middle-age-man reply, but instead got a friendly direction to separate out the types of containers into the red trays and leave the beer bottles in their cases. As requested, I cordoned off the containers and redeemed them for the value of a coffee and muffin. True, the floor was sticky, the air stinky, and I tried desperately not to touch anything, but at least the service was friendly. Let's focus on the positive ; )

Staff are very helpful though. They have dumpsters for all the main types of recyclables. Paper, cardboard, plastic, among others. Just empty out your car and drive off. Nice and quick. Personally I still think the Burnaby one (Eco-centre) is superior, but just go to the closest one and save a tree.
