Just after 8pm on a Friday night we got parking right at the front door which I thought was rock star lucky until we went in, completely empty except for the bar tender which I thought was weird. We sat down and ordered a couple drinks while talking and a big heavy set guy walks in and behind the bar to talk to the bar tender and finally sat down across from us. While having drinks and talking the douchebag had a disturbing laser stare on us non stop and after repeated looking at him, he continued non stop staring at us so we had to leave. I don't know what his problem was but making strangers feel uncomfortable was very natural to him and he was a pro at it. I'm going to spend some time in the area so I was looking regular place to go to but this will not be that place and we will not return again.

The place is your typical West Allis dive bar with a pool table etc. The bartender and the regulars were welcoming and I'm told that it has been around for about 12 years so how have I missed it. My service was great from the woman working the bar. They couldn't even make a proper Gin Rickey because they had no lime juice and I got the last lime wedge and now we are out of limes. It still amazes me that a bar doesn't lime juice or limes.

Drinks are affordable. The bartender was a lovely older woman with kind eyes and a big German Shepherd colleague. The outside space is adorable, although be warned, the lattice cover over the patio screams and creaks like it has been possessed. Even though this feels like a hidden gem, the bar drew constant visitors even early on a Saturday evening. One challenge - parking in the area is extremely limited.

For $5 you can launch right into the channel that leads to Big Muskego lake, and leave your vehicle and trailers parked in the lot. The bar/restaurant itself is quite large inside and probably hopping on Friday for fish fry. We went on a Thursday and it was busier than I had anticipated with a steady stream of regulars passing through. The dining area is a distinct space that is separate from the bar. We ordered food and chose to sit at the bar, and as a bonus there was a nice view of the channel and outdoor seating area. I got the feeling that this place is cash only. I didn't see anyone paying with a card nor did I see a machine behind the bar. In fact, the register itself looked to be from 1940. I saw an ATM near the entrance so that's convenient. The same goes for the dining area. I noticed that everyone who paid for meals used cash instead of credit. For the food itself, there was a good selection of appetizers and sandwiches. Pizza is also available as well as some other main dishes. The prices were very fair for what is offered. We went with a 14" Franco special pizza and were not disappointed. It was well cooked and tasted great, for less than $15. Most of the sandwiches were between $7 and $9. I enjoyed this place, but it is dated and the bartender was kind of inattentive toward us. I felt that she catered more towards the regulars which made me feel like a burden on her. I would rate this place one star higher if she had paid as much attention to us as our waitress did- especially since we were seated at the bar.
