Took my kids to the movies yesterday after a long hiatus due to the pandemic. Since it was a weekday the theater looked deserted. We were asked to show our proof of vaccine to enter the theater which is a new regulation in LA county. The theater was clean and maintained. The service staff was courteous. The main issue I had was with the concession stand. It took over 20 minutes to get popcorn and drinks. There were two people attending to the few customers and it was not looking good. I mean if the theater was half full this would have been a super problem as everyone would have to wait in line vs. watching their movie. They serve frozen pizza which is warmed in the microwave and that is just shabby. The screen size and seats are fine and the audio in the theater is decent. Overall it is not an AMC but the prices are affordable. The bathrooms were clean and all supplies were well stocked. read more

They also built a Police Station in the Rear of this locations.Right across the parking lot of the Regency Theater.What really caught my eye was that their was no longer a food court.There was at least 6 different fast food joints,including Quiznoes.Real sad to see so many locations closed. However the Theater has had to make dramatic changes in how they do business along with the prices.If you come before 4 pm your cost is $7.25 per person and Hot Dogs are a Dollar each. Some of the Theaters are big in size and have the Dolby Surround sound system.The down fall is the element that comes here,a lot of kids that want to play around during the movie and talk.The employees are some what limited in what they can do. Cleaning of this location also needs some work done during your visit and most of all the restrooms can use some help. It's pretty much a bare bone basic movie theater that you would find. The tickets are cheap, the food is affordable, and the theater experience is average. So I can't really complain much, I got what I needed when I watched Del Toro's Pinocchio with no issues whatsoever. My only complaint would be that the building interior/exterior needs a big upgrade, it feels as though the building has not aged well with its wallpaper designs and the big Hollywood sign at the entrance really shows it's age. A nice touch on the building design would be nice. Overall, I wouldn't really recommend coming to this movie theater if your expecting something with better picture and better audio sound with up to date building designs. For that I'd recommend either AMC and Regal. But if your looking for something cheap and a nice budget on your income, then this movie theater is good for your wallet. read more

I bought my Reserved D-Box tickets on Fandango and picked them up inside at Customer service. They had security escort me to my seat, just in case someone else was sitting in it, which I guess happens a lot. Reserved D-Box seats syncs the movement on screen. So you can feel the motion of the ocean or gallop along with The Lone Ranger. Is it worth the money? Not really. It's not as wild as the action and it doesn't I've through tout the movie as much as it should. At the concession stand the cashier was in a foul mood. I asked for a small drink and she plopped the cup in front of me and said, "Get it yourself." Very classy. Their soda pump was one of those Coke Machines that allows you to mix your own soda. I like the options, but hate those machines because they always squirt too much carbonation and not enough syrup, so your drink tastes off. Plus with all those kids pumping up these weird concoctions, their fingers and used straws grazing the spigot, you know that it's only a matter of time before people get some sort of food borne virus. I bought nachos and a small drink and scoffed at the $11.06 price. The cashier said, "Well that's the price" in a dismissive way. So I told her AMC has a bigger portion for the same price. She scoffed at AMC and said, "Their prices are too high" so I said, "How would you know? You go to this theater for your movies." So during the movie I actually counted the amount of nachos I got- 51 chips and I still had cheese left over and the small soda was just enough. The next day I go to a movie at the AMC in Burbank and get the same thing, a nacho and drink. For $12.25 I got 87 chips and a gallon of soda for just a buck more. So Regency cashier, AMC has the better deal. Plus AMC's nacho cheese tastes better. So if you are hungry, eat before you come to the show, because they also search your purse for snacks. Regency is the theater I go to when I go to the movies without friends and want to save a buck or two. It's not as good as the AMC's but it's not as filthy and gross as a discount theater. During this 'CoVid Era' where the Drive-In Movie has become the only option to see new movies in L.A., we have been driving to the Vineland Theater & other 2 out in Riverside County ... but WHAT a drive! Never has the absence of a Drive-In in the Valley been more felt. What a great idea this is! I worried it might be a sort of haphazard operation, hastily set up to make some $$$. But it was totally well organized & the screen big, image quality very good & sound broadcast perfect! Everyone working there was very courteous. In fact the Regional Manger was there the night I went, & when the battery died in my vehicle, he assured me he could jump the battery w/a mobile battery booster & gave us a portable radio to finish watching the show! It's not the "Best" theater, but man I love coming here. I like the location - hidden behind other large buildings, large parking lot and it's next to a police station. Their movie selection is great, with 16 screens they can show a larger variety of films. The parking lot is huge and the staff behind the concessions bar are really really nice and efficient, the staff at the ticket box are also super nice, the managers are polite, but the ticket taker usually looks like they HATE doing that job... but that's only one person out of 6 that I need to talk with. We like to wait till after the movie has been out for about 2 months before we go so that the theaters are less busy. Small arcade machines, plenty of restrooms, and they have a rewards program that's free compared to Cinemark. The ticket prices here are usually $2 less than the regular tickets elsewhere also which is a great feeling when you spend $25 on concessions. read more

Perhaps it is because it is situated in the ghetto city in the San Fernando Valley, but coming to this theater is like asking to get into trouble. During my visit here, the popcorn I bought was extremely cold and when I asked if they could change it they said they just recently popped it. Okay... The movie theaters are relatively small and although they're not too dirty, they're nothing spectacular either. I hate to say that it's mostly the crowd you'll get here that really turns me off about this place. On the two occasions that I have watched movies in this theater, I have asked guests to turn off their phones because the light was bothering me. How did they respond? One said, "honey you're in the ghetto so if you have a problem then you move the f*ck away" and the second one just said something in Spanish and continued to browse through her Instagram. The one thing this theater has going for it is it's more affordable prices and the fact that I know the theater wont' be as packed as others on the West Valley side. Parking is plentiful and tickets can be purchased inside the gate from an automated system (much faster than getting it at front). I've never felt the need to leave a negative review and I've never been to a theatre anywhere close to this bad. 1. They check your bags to make sure you didn't bring outside food. This happens after you buy your ticket and there's no obvious sign that I saw saying "no outside food." I didn't bring any food/drink but this is an embarrassingly bad thing to do to your customer. Whatever money you save by making people buy your $5 water bottles you lose by people who decide to go somewhere else where they'll be treated better. I get checking big bags for security reasons, maybe, but checking for food is annoying. 2. The walls aren't sound proofed. You could hear the kids movie playing next door. I've never experienced this before. 3. The sound on the movie (A Quiet Place) was poorly leveled. I love loud jump scares but they were SO loud that I felt that I was actually getting my hearing damaged. It was so loud that everyone around us was talking about it and plugging their ears. It was literally unbearable so we left and got a refund. I've never walked out of a movie before. The ticket booth people were thankfully nice and helpful about it. I bet it happens a lot. Even if the sound was good and we couldn't hear a cartoon during our horror movie, I'd never go back because of the disrespectful bag checks. I drove past this place 2 times because I kept missing the sign that points to the theater. It has a weird little road at the end of the parking lot that leads you to a police station and this theater. The front strip mall strip houses In N Out Burger and Starbucks which is quite convenient. The theater itself is not so bad for the price you pay for a movie. Came here on a Friday night and was surprised to find almost nobody there. Adult price is $9.75 and student price $8. The seats are so-so in comfort, the screen is good and clear, and the sound is mediocre. read more

This is basically just your run of the mill theatre. Nothing crazy or amazing about this location. Parking: There is a huge parking lot but for some reason there is always very little parking. It is also randomly shares a parking lot with a police station. This would usually kind of adds a sense of security but every time I have been there, I have never seen a police car or police officer coming in or out of that station. Entrance: It can be pretty busy out front. They have attempted to form a line but it seems like most people either do not see it or just do not care. However, they also have machine inside the doors on the right that take card and allow you to skip the line. Also, another thing that I found weird about this theatre is that they "check" your bag. I put that in quotation marks because the girl manning the door asked me to open my purse, which I did. Before I could even get the bag halfway open, she thanked me and sent me on my way. Clearly, if you have to set up a bag checking system, you have had security problems. Do the job thoroughly to protect your guests. Seating: Nothing spectacular. The theatres are actually kind of small. If it is an opening weekend for a new movie, I would suggest getting there early because if you do not, you will probably end up sitting right under the screen. Concessions: Overpriced like any other theatre. Nothing special to report. Kind of like the entire theatre. Overall: We only come here if we don't feel like driving to Sherman Oaks Galleria to the better theatre. I like this place. We can show up right before a movie starts and usually end up with a decent seat. The concession stands move fast and they always have fresh popcorn. The one downside is the drink set up. They hand you a cup and then you fill it up yourself. The problem with that ....there are not enough machines for the amount of people trying to fill up their cups. Those fancy new machines offer so many drink choices and most people do not seem to understand how to work the touch screen. Attended The Plant Drive in Tonight with my family and had a great experience watching Wonder Woman 84! We purchased our movie tickets on-line, it's $30.00 per car and the tickets were scanned upon arrival. The staff was professional and efficient, they directed us to a socially distanced parking space that had at least six feet between neighboring cars. The concession stand inside the theater was open and fully stocked, we picked up some freshly popped corn and brought snacks too since we were in our own car. The screen is pretty decent, and the sound was great since the movie plays right from your car radio. At the end of the film, our car would not start it lost battery during the film. No problem, Chris and the awesome staff jumped into action with a remote battery charger that started our car up instantly and we were on our way. Great Experience all around would recommend to other families. A big thank you to the Drive-In Staff who were prompt, courteous and super helpful. read more
