Stay clear of this practice. They will scare the hell out of you with their assessments and insist you need treatments that you do not need. They were going to charge me an exorbitant amount of money even though I have the insurance they accept. I ended up going to my former doctor who no longer takes my insurance, and ended up paying much less without insurance than what Regency was going to charge me. Something is off with this practice. They use high-pressure tactics to upsell you and convince you that your mouth is in terrible shape and that you need all kinds of treatments and services. Then they send in the person who manages the billing so she can explain pages and pages of treatments and fees. It's an awful way to do business. No procedure happened on this first visit. They took numerous x-rays and then had a tech come in to do a plaque check which resulted in a high-pressure sale of lifetime deep cleanings at $459.00 per cleaning. I went in for a broken tooth (not repaired), and they tried to sell me a bunch of unnecessary treatments.
Within minutes of leaving my first appointment, they were texting me with offers for teeth whitening, Botox, and lip injections. Eighty-five percent of the women at this practice including the dentist herself has huge lip-injected duck lips. One of the techs had such grossly enlarged lips that her lips looked deformed. It was such a 'twilight zone' appointment.
I made the mistake of pre-paying $1,000 on my credit card before the next appointment which I ended up canceling and going to my former dentist. In good faith, I trusted this practice, but had to fight like a rabid dog to get them to refund me the $1,000.00 to my Care Credit card for a procedure I did not have. So, in short, they shanghai you into procedures and deep cleanings that you may not need, and then make you fight for your refund. After numerous unanswered calls to their practice, it was only after I called them one last time and told them I was escalating this legally, and contacting the Florida State Dental Board, and Cigna Dental, HMO, that they immediately refunded me! Again, something is off with this dental practice.
My former dentist extracted my tooth; he confirmed the tooth was not as bad as Regency Court Dentistry said it was. Regency Court Dentistry told me that I had periodontal disease and needed to set up a deep cleaning every three months for the rest of my life at a charge of $459.00 per cleaning. Yes, you heard it here, that's what I walked away with after leaving their practice. Dr. Beck told me that my tooth was badly infected, and that I would need to come back for the extraction, again for the bone graft, and again for the implant. Really? When my regular dentist extracted my tooth, he inserted the bone graft at the same time, so there's that.
I'll say it again - something is not right with Regency Court Dentistry. I will be contacting Cigna Dental HMO and the Florida State Dental Board regarding the gross discrepancies in pricing which do not appear to be reasonable and customary, and the high-pressure, fear mongering from the dentist and the techs. Shame on Regency Court Dentistry for putting me and anyone through this.
NOTE: If you filter the reviews and read the negative ones, you will see for yourself that my review aligns with a lot of the other negative reviews that are posted.
Do your research. I thank God that I acted on my high-intuitive hit, my gut, and canceled my appointments with this practice and walked away. I learned a huge lesson and will never refer this practice to anyone and, if anyone asks me about the practice, I will beg them to stay away from it. read more
