No one closely looked at my face or scars when I came in for the consult. One person looked at my face without any type of magnifier, just across the desk from where i shelled out 2,400 bucks because I was told the treatment works for scars. I will post my complaint nand pictures to as many media outlets possible to save others from the same predicament and to tell how SkinMD remedies this if at all. I'm sure the Neogen Plasma works, but no one should be sold something that has no value to them. Finally, The procedure was painful. The gel used supposedly has anesthetic/ numbing properties, yet it was less than 10 seconds between applying it and hitting my skin with the treatment wand. Maybe because it was Friday at 5pm and the technician was in a hurry to get done for the week that the few seconds to let me numb up a bit were not spared? My eyelashes got singed along with some of my hairline, red raw skin spots resulted and remained raw for 4 weeks after treatment.. Evidently these areas were done "extra" ; around my scars and in random areas that seem more like errors in the procedure than purposeful. The raw skin I don't think healed better with the 100 dollar plus after treatment cream they insisted worked wonders. I hope to get a refund at the least. (The painkillers and tranquilizers also helped a lot :). It's been about 5 weeks and I had a follow-up visit the other day; all is healing well. The only think I think could have improved my experience is better information and details about the healing process and after-care. I wasn't aware that it can take up to 6 months for full healing, which I learned on my own through research at at y follow-up visit. I've also learned more on my own about the vital importance of the compression garment. They mentioned it briefly, but more in-depth details would have been good. I would also have liked a compression garment that fitted me better; I had to alter the one they provided because the shoulder straps were too short and not adjustable. I've purchased another garment to use, and also plan to get a lymphatic massage to aid in scar tissue smoothing and fluid removal. I suggest that SkinMD provide a brochure with detailed after-care information and healing time, and links to reputable websites and videos about healing and self-care. But overall I'm happy with my results - no regrets! - the price was reasonable and everyone has been professional and friendly. Thank you -

Elizabeth sees beyond 'the service' you're in for--doesn't want to willy nilly fill you up with fillers--she takes the total structure of your face into account, is particular about facial balance, takes your long term goals into mind, is honest, kind and realistic about working towards the best you. I was referred to this practice by my GP who had a particular physician in mind but knew they would…read morehave a full schedule and to not expect an appointment with that physician. The first open appointment was with a PA which I was given. The office is accessed from the back of the building on the lower level. There is plenty of parking in this area. Once in the back door, the office is straight ahead. The staff all seem very busy. The were pleasant enough but also not chatty. Slide open the window, take my information, told to wait. Window closes. Pretty standard. I was the only one in the waiting area so I wandered around a looked at some of the information they had available on skin care treatments offered. Almost spa-like services. The reception/waiting area is very bare bones with no windows and hard seats. It took several minutes to be called back where I was placed in an exam room. The tech who brought me to the exam room verified why I was being seen. I expressed my concerns. She seemed very pleasant and left. I waited in that room quite a while. I could hear someone coming and going in the hall so one provider must have been going from room to room. When it was my turn the PA arrived with the tech. He greeted me, verified why I was there and then began speaking to the tech like I wasn't in the room. He sat on a stool, took out a magnifying glass and started looking over my face. Not at something I was there for, just all over my face. While doing this he is rattling off technical words to the tech who was writing everything down as he said it. Apparently he believes I have rosacea. For which he did not offer to treat me. Weird. If you catch that early it's treatable. He wasn't even sure at first it is rosacea and after dictating to the tech for a while changed his diagnosis to 'just make down rosacea' but then no treatment plan was offered. Once done with that he stood up asked what skin care I used and offered a cream for a secondary issue I was there for. My primary issue is a concern for skin cancer. He completely ignored that. I pointed it out. He ignored it again. I pointed it out again. He side stepped. I insisted he address it and he described how 'sometimes' a condition will occur and then described to me a pre-cancerous condition that is exactly what I had described to him at the beginning. He didn't tell me he didn't think it was an issue or he thinks it's something else or address the spot on my face in any way at all. He just kept avoiding the discussion until I forced the issue. I felt so uncomfortable with the experience after a few days I called the office and spoke to someone about my concerns. They assured me the treatment was the usual method and they would speak to the PA and get back to me. They never called me back, but the PA called and left me a voice message saying if I didn't understand the treatment to call him back. I do understand the treatment. I just want to know what is being done to improve this practitioners ability to treat patients. To respect their concerns. To communicate better. He treated me like a bug under a microscope then tried to walk out of the room as soon as his examination was complete. He was literally backing toward the door as he tried to end the appointment before I had gotten answers. I never received a call back from the person I spoke with and at this point I have lost all confidence in this group. On top of that, my insurance denied the claim. Great.

I am also regularly seen at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. My Nurse Practitioner there saw me only 60 days after my examination by Dr. Kimmis. She biopsied 3 additional and separate areas, all of which were confirmed as skin cancer - - 1 basal cell and 2 more squamous cell. Upon calling Dr. Kimmis to report this development and express my surprise and disappointment that he had not identified these additional cancers, his sole response was: "Thanks for telling me."

I went in for a Laser Skin Resurfacing treatment that I purchased through Groupon. The Dr. explained the procedure thoroughly and covered all potential risks and concerns. He took time to ask about my medical history and also explained after-care measures. I ended up re-booking the treatment for a later date when I had an extra day to allow for recovery and the office was more than accommodating. This was not a high pressure environment and I felt very comfortable with Dr. Goldstein. I look forward to my treatment and feel confident that I will be pleased with the results.

Both have been nice but I just feel that I am rushed during all these appointments. Colloquially people joke about the 5-10 minute doctor visits and I feel that way when I go to Skin Pros. Maybe that's the way it is at all dermatology offices.... The front office staff is average, I feel like a number when I check in, not as a human being, but again, they see many many people a day and that can make the receptionists, a bit curt. There's a free parking lot in the back of the building.
