This was my first time seeing a movie at this theater. I met some friends on a Saturday evening was surprised at how empty the lobby and theaters were. You either have to purchase your tickets online or at a kiosk and they do have assigned seats. Being in Short Pump, I was surprised by the decor and concession options. The theater needs a major remodel as you are instantly transported back to the 80's when you enter the lobby. With so many theaters now offering reclining seats, it was disappointing that they weren't offered here. The concessions are ridiculously priced, a small drink was almost as expensive as my ticket, and they only offer Pepsi products, which I'm not a big fan of. It's conveniently located, but I'd probably opt for another movie theater next time I want to see a movie. read more

This Regal feels like a blast from the past, it has a mix of modern and retro vibes which gives it a nostalgic feel. The seats aren't the most comfortable, but they're perfectly fine for a movie outing. I am an unlimited member so I often frequent multiple regals. The real draw here is the selection of limited releases and early access screenings that they offer. Which is what draws me over to this regal from time to time. The concessions are on the basic side, don't expect a huge menu, but they cover all the essentials, mainly popcorn, drinks and some hot items. You won't find many of the unique concession offerings that Regal typically advertises and they are usually out of a lot of those items. It is a little pricier than your average theater and if I wasn't an unlimited member this would not be my top theater. However if you're into smaller releases, it's absolutely worth the extra few bucks. read more

Good Experience at this Regal. My first at any movie theater in RVA. Watched Capt America Brave New World (2nd time) and the seating was spacious. Went w a group of 6 and sat on the back row in the middle (best seats) and while no one passed by us it was plenty of room for people to walk past wo having to move my feet. Though the chairs looked a little dated it was very minor thing. The popcorn was Good! And nest of all I was amazed at the service. Poor little me ordered all the food (2 large popcorns, 4 drinks) and the concession guy walked w me to my seats helping me carry everything. Never had that happened before and never been in the need for the assist but grateful for it. Good experience I'll would recommend this theater. read more

What a terrible experience. Out of everything we wanted (no wine, no white claw, no light beer, no large popcorn, limited candy selection), overpriced and understaffed. You pay a fortune...almost $100 for 2 people to go to a movie, have popcorn, water and a beer each. The sound was good, quality of the screen good but the experience lacked and just wasn't worth it. I'm not sure I would go back, which makes me sad. For the money, I'd rather go to Cinebistro (now CMX), have decent food and a glass of wine for about the same price. read more

Went to watch F1 in IMAX and this was not a true IMAX. Huge let down, especially when you are charged more for IMAX. For that I had to take a star. The theater was a complete mess. That takes this theater to 3 stars. I will give credit where credit is due. The sound system setup was very good. Picture quality was also very good. Also the fella that cashed us out was very professional and courteous. With all that said I can't say it's worth the money to go here for an IMAX movie. read more

THeatres have gone downhill and gotten more expensive. This place does have a large parking lot..... I wanted to start with a positive. There are also seats that lean back and the sound system is good. Here is the issue I had.. You can only buy tickets at the concession stand(unless you do it on line) So, you go in and there are 4 LONG lines to the concession stand. We stood there about 15 min and it never moved. We ended up buying the tickets on line so we could see the start of the movie. Seriously.... concessions were slow moving before and now you have people looking at the seat options and taking their sweet time picking seats out... I dont know if this is a staffing issue or that they want to force on line sales and not pay anyone. Tickets are also high. It was over $30 for two tickets. I haven't been to the movies since Covid but boy have things changed. It appears that staffing must be a huge issue. The ticket booth is closed so you have to buy tickets at the concession if you don't buy them online. Concessions were short staffed and staff seemed overworked but still pleasant. Everything from the concession area to the bathroom seemed dirty and in need of cleaning. The whole thing was very sad as I remember going to the theater a lot and it was such a fun night out. Not anymore. Regal used to have great perks for employees so all movie lovers wanted to work there. I wonder if that has changed. read more

Very poor customer service at the concession stand. Trying to upsell products because your soda is down is total BS. Then saying things are a combo and the candy is free but then charging for everything. What is going on ? This is short pump isn't it? No wonder online movies are so popular. I willl make sure I let everyone know how bad the service is. FYI... we are about to miss the start of the movie because it took 30 minutes to deal with people that are incompetent. This was my first time at Regal in Short Pump, seeing a book-made-movie with my girlfriend. The theater seems a little old, and definitely could use some updates- the seats were very well worn, and the atmosphere seemed past it's prime. However, the staff were very nice, there was a large, ample parking lot, and the sound in the theater was great. In addition, there are restaurants all around, which is super convenient. I would go back if they had a movie I really wanted to see, but otherwise might pick a newer/more comfy theater. read more

It's a movie theatre with 14 screens. I have been going here since it first opened and there was nothing there except the theater. Fast forward to 2018, parking is hard to find and you may need to walk a distance the closer to the show time and for popular movies. The lines are long for entrance and concessions. I recommend purchasing your tickets online to save yourself some time. Some online purchasing websites will allow you to purchase concessions online. I have not tried purchasing concessions online but it surely is an awesome idea to save wait time in the line. Typically, the theater gets movies the same day they're released. This location sometimes offers free showings of movies prior to release. If you frequent the movies, I also recommend going online and signing up for a Regal Crown Card account. You earn points for purchasing movie tickets and snacks at the concession stand. You also get bonuses when going to a movie on release weekend, such as a soundtrack album, previous movie, etc. read more

I've only lived in Virginia for about a year now, so I don't know what this theater was like pre-2014, but my experiences have been only good so far. Pros ------ + There are a lot of screens so finding a time when the movie you want to see playing is pretty easy. + While I haven't experienced it personally, they have an IMAX theater now. + Ticket prices seem pretty average and they do accept all of the typical Regal free movie passes. + The stadium seating makes it easy to see, even if someone is sitting in front of you. + The theater as a whole is pretty clean, compared to some I've been to. It is also on a wealthy side of town. Perhaps there is a correlation. + The popcorn, although really expensive, is really good. + The theaters are digital, and the picture has always been good. I don't recall there ever being sound problems. Cons -------- - Concession stand prices are way high. Like, you're better off not getting popcorn and going out to dinner after at a 5 Star Restaurant with the money you saved. (Kidding, but popcorn is the better part of $10, a bit high.) - The Parking Lot, while having a fair amount of spaces, is shared between all of the buildings and businesses in the area. During off hours of the day, it's fine, but it gets a little congested at night. We had to park at one of the restaurants in another little plaza once. (But it was opening weekend for the Hunger Games, so I'm not going to hold it too much against the theater.) - My fiancee found the seats themselves to be uncomfortable. I didn't really notice. - The ticket window is entirely outside. Which is fine normally, except when it's really cold. Overall --------- In my opinion it's a good theater. There are some small things I don't like such as the occasional parking lot troubles and the overpriced food, but they aren't deal breakers. All of my experiences here have been good for the most part, and it the theater I've been to the most in Virginia. 7/10 if I could, otherwise, 4 stars sounds good enough. read more

KENNY JONES the manager at the short pump location made me and my party feel very uncomfortable. He was aggressive and very rude. He kicked us out of the movie's theatre after yelling at us during the movie. I hope that y'all find a better person for that position. Me as a black teenager woman and my black sisters were attacked verbally by him and also the person who got him. Other guests told him he was in the wrong but he ignored them and continued to yell at us. He was very passive aggressive and I felt very uncomfortable. I asked the guy at the concession stand to break a dollar for me so I can get my girlfriends son something out of the vending machine and he told me to go to the ticket counter. Which I thought was odd since I was paying $18 and some change for ONE large popcorn and ONE large fountain drink. Total jerk. 9 people behind the counter but all were just talking to each other not helping customers until I asked "are you working?". The armrests are way too small to share with the seat next to you so pray to god there's no one sitting close by. The bathrooms probably haven't been remodeled since this place opened. We visited to see The Avengers and were not disappointed. The theater line was pretty long, but like most theaters these days, the automated kiosk was completely empty, so it took no time to get our tickets. We arrived 30 minutes early, so concession lines were very small and lots of cash registers were open. The entry/concession area was clean, the service was friendly and fast and we were on our way into auditorium 1. The theater had ample stadium seating, good lighting and ambient music. The seats are a tad narrow, but they do recline and have optional arm rests w/ cup holders. The theater was also clean, a small feat for opening weekend of such a popular movie. The picture was clear and centered and the sound was excellent, bordering on TOO loud.. which is a good thing. I love a movie that makes you feel like you're there. I believe the picture and sound were digital, but I forgot to check. IMHO, this theater was excellent and I would recommend a visit! read more

This is a good theatre, i love the modern look of it, and have never had a long line issue here.. Surprising right? Well, they have so many theatres to choose from so we saw Dark Knight Rises.. Great movie.. Worth every penny of the matinee fee lol.. It was $7.50 for adults and $7 for children. The food was priced about average as most theatres... We got the large popcorn, and 3 drinks. And i snuck back out to get a pretzel after seeing someone with one.. It was delicious but there wasnt one speck of salt on it.. All I have to say is assigned seating is a horrible idea and whoever thought it was a good idea needs to be fired. Every time we go now someone is in someone else's seat because someone is in their seat and the first 15 minutes of every movie is people talking to a manager. I missed the first 10 minutes of avengers endgame the first two times I saw it because all I could hear was people complaining about someone in their seats. It's RIDICULOUS. Sad to see it's become like this now. Other than that it's an okay movie theater. The one in Williamsburg is definitely the best, but if you're going to have to sit in assigned seats I definitely recommend AMC because they have reclining chairs at least. read more
