Yesterday a few friends and I came to this theatre to enjoy a relaxing evening. We were told, very rudely I might add, not to bring any food in when we went to check in, completely understandable and we went back to our car to drop it off and eat a quick bite. As we were sitting in our car on the opposite side of the parking lot we noticed a worker watching us and standing outside. He then proceeded to verbally harass us while we were just simply trying to eat before the show. He kept staring and yelling at us even after assuring him we wouldn't bring any food inside. The whole experience was so unnerving and bizarre that a grown man would view four teenage girls as such a threat that we were too uncomfortable to stay and simply left. Be careful going to this movie theatre as this may be your experience too, and remember to always stay vigilant! read more

Worst experience EVER!!!! Never come here to watch a movie. Location bad, SERVICE AWFUL! Carried a takeout bag into the lobby, screamed at, I apologized and said I would eat in my car. I was standing outside my car and from across the parking lot a worker followed outside yelled at me that I "wouldn't dare to bring it back." I responded "I'm eating in my car." Watched Titanic for the FIFTH TIME in theaters, this time in 3-D and with my children & our friends. Cried like always. West Tower Regal Cinema is a modest theater with basic trappings but there's nothing to complain about cuz staff did their jobs well, the place was clean (even the ladies restroom, where one goes to wash one's face after sobbing through Titanic, again), and the seats were comfortable. We picked this theater since we were a group of seven trying to save a few bucks, and this was the most affordable theater in the area. I love the regal cinema, but on Saturday March 18 me and my son had the worst experience by far. Two managers or employee and manager by the name of Candace and Johnathon, was very disrespectful to my brother about the movie scream. Johnathon the manager was cursing and using foul language in front of my kids. He also screamed out how much he hates kids. My children also stated that he dislikes kids and that's why they weren't allowed to see the movie. Johnathon also step up in my brothers face and using gestures as if he wanted to fight. My kids were crying and in total disbelief, so was I in total shock. I've never witnessed anything like this before. I think something needs to be handled about this unprofessional behavior. One star is giving satisfactory 0 stars would be POOR, and that's exactly what this place gave. read more

Arrived on a Thursday night 2/1/18 for a 7:05 p.m. showing. Hardly any customers which is fine with me, no lines! Clean restroom, no line at concession, the popcorn was good and the theater was clean. This theatre is old and doesn't have the stadium seating that I've grown accustomed to. Old out dated theater. Seats are from like the 80s, causes skin itching, and are not on an incline so if you got someone tall in front of you than your view will be blocked. Many areas of the theater smells like mold and mildew. Theater 6 has a horribly large red glare on screen during entire movie caused by the exit sign as seen in pic. Lastly this location unlike others only puts small amount of butter on top of medium popcorn and not through out... Go to the location at Virginia Center Commons, it is much better than this location and Short Pump. read more

This place is in desperate need of a makeover. When I went a few weeks ago to see Onward, I was the only person in the theater. Mind you it was midday on a Friday when many people are at work or school, but it seems like even retired folks or Elementary School kids out of school would have made an appearance. Everything here looks like a time machine took you back to 1985. The location is excellent, I just wish they would remake it into a dine in theater to compete with CineBistro and Short Pump or at the very least, remodel and bring it up to 2020 standards. Probably the roughest Regal I have been to in the US. At best, it should be a dollar theater. Everything down to the seats is extremely outdated and the screen is smaller than that of modern theaters. The only food options aside from popcorn and candy are nachos and a microwaved pretzel that you can't bite or rip in half because it is so chewy. I am really surprised that they are able to charge people full price. Staff was a bit awkward but helpful and the facility looked as though it is well kept. I would return to this theater if it was turned into a dollar theater and they revamped the quality of their food items. But I would not recommend or return aside from that. read more

Hello, I was emailing regarded multiple employees being extremely rude to not only me but my significant other and witnessed other people being treated badly too. This incident was at Regal Cinemas West End location in Richmond Virginia. Brandon the manager was extremely rude and not polite what so ever. I do not understand how he has the position of being a manager. While getting tickets we were told you have to be 21 since i did not have my id. I was not aware of that considering the fact that it is a tiny text when buying tickets. Which sound be fixed and there should be a (large) notice about before purchasing tickets. As in a notice on the whole screen and you cannot continue until you have seen the notice. While approaching the desk to speak with a manager asking if you had to be 18 or 21 Brandon immediately came off with an attitude about it and I explained that I did not bring my id because i had my tickets on my phone and thought only one person had to bring an id and that person could be 18. Yes, i understood wrong about the age part and id, but I am extremely unsatisfied with how we were treated and the amount of disrespect that was given. While asking for a refund since I already bought the tickets online he continued to say it was not his problem. For someone who is a manager, whom is supposed to have good customer service, and be helpful to customer, he obviously should not be in that position. I am extremely disappointed with how we were treated and it could have gone a better way. read more

This is an old theatre. The floor is flatter than most and the chairs have very high backs. Some of the screen will be blocked for a short person, even if no one is in front of you because the chairs are so high. The sound was also way too loud and we had to ask them to lower the volume. However, if you want a private movie showing, this place is a hidden gem to come to on a week day. I can with a friend at 7:45 in a Wednesday and we could talk through the show and sit sideways in the chairs! read more

My boyfriend and I were trying to go see the new Jackass Forever movie and as this is rated R we needed to present some ID. We are both 19 and I was able to present my license. My boyfriend wasn't able to find his and he even went back to his car to look for it. We asked if there was another way we could prove our age but the guy checking our ID's rudely told us that we needed a physical copy. We understand what's it's like dealing with obnoxious customers so the last thing we wanted to do was be rude. My boyfriend then politely asks if he could speak to a manager and the guy exclaimed that he was a manager and then proceeded to accuse us of belittling and undermining him. We didn't know that he was a manager and we just wanted a second opinion from someone who was probably higher up. In the end, I asked for a refund for my tickets so we could go see a different movie and my boyfriend apologized for coming off as rude as it was not our intention. When we went back to the car, I saw that the refund tickets he gave me expired 2 years ago so I went back inside to ask if these were still ok to use. When I walked in I heard that same manager talking crap about us for not having our ID's and made fun of us for apologizing. I did not say anything because I did not want to cause a scene but to the purple haired guy being rude to us for literally no reason; if you're gonna talk crap about customers, do a better job at not being loud af so the whole theater can hear you. Mind you, I was standing at the entrance and I could hear everything you were saying. I'm not mad that I wasn't able to see the movie, I was mainly mad at the fact that he was being rude to us when we were nothing but polite and that he talked crap about us behind our backs. As a manager I think one skill you need to have is to be able to talk to customers in a calm and professional fashion and it's clear that you do not have that skill. Let me preface this by saying that we don't go to the movies often. I don't know too much about movie theaters other than how comfortable they are and whether or not you can see or hear the movie well. I do have a technical background so I understand the general difference between digital vs. traditional film projection, but beyond that, I'm just a typical movie-goer. That all said, I didn't have any problems with this theater. As others have said, it's not super new and modern looking like the Short Pump one down the street, but whatever. According to different movie theater apps, the prices here are about half a dollar cheaper than some of the other Regal around it. Food like popcorn and candy is of course super over priced, but the popcorn was good enough. (It does of course have that after consumption feeling of hating oneself for consuming such a product.) In terms of the movie itself, we went to the second Hunger Games movie. They had 4 different showings repeated through the day, spaced 15 min. (12:00, 12:15, etc) The particular theater we were in, Theater 9 if it matters, did have a sign that stated it was a Digital presentation. I thought the picture was pretty good and I didn't have any problems hearing the audio. It wasn't overwhelmingly loud. The seats as another Yelper mentioned are very new looking and appear to be some of the newer things in the theater. Maybe they're not the most comfortable, but I wasn't dying to stand up after a 2.5 hour movie. I will comment though on the absurd amount of previews that preceded the movie. No kidding, I saw no less than 9 movie previews, which at 3 minutes a piece adds up quickly. I didn't have anywhere to go, but it started to get a little silly. Overall, I have no qualms with this theater. It didn't seem too packed, despite going around noon the opening week to one of the season's biggest films. If the theater down the street is crammed with people, I'll take Regal Cinemas 10 any day. I will of course update this if I have negative experiences in the future, but I have certainly been to worse theaters in my life and wouldn't tell anyone to steer clear of this one. There are probably nicer theaters around, but if you're in the area and want to catch a movie in a fairly clean and adequate theater, go for it! read more

I refer to this theater as the "80's Theater" because it reminds you of the 1980's. No one goes here since they all go to either Bowtie/Movieland or the theater in Short Pump and this is the main reason why I'm loyal to this one. I never have to worry about crowds, finding a decent seat in the theater, parking. Because no one goes here, it's like my own personal movie theater! If you want to see a new release that you know will be sold out--go here, chances are, it's not anywhere close to being sold out! Most of us who are from Richmond or have been living here for a long time know this theater as the West Tower 10 Theater. It was THE theater to go to in the Far Westend until Shortpump with Stadium Seating opened. I have been to this theater many times over the years, and of course for many years I had stopped. Not because it was bad, I just lived closer to Regal Cinema 14 at Shortpump and I like the seating better. I now have been going back to this theater in the past 6 months since I now live closer to it. The Theater is and always have been a great theater. It is cleaned and they keep each Theater Room nice and clean. The ONLY problem with this theater are the seats. They still have the old style seats like you find in the Byrd Theater, but Larger. A little smaller than the stadium seating at Regal Short Pump 14. IN addition, you do not have the stadium seating as well... However, since I very very rarely catch a late show.... I never have any problems seeing the screen. The Projection is always sharp and the sound is at a great level.... So, I have been enjoying Regal Cinemas 10 AKA: West Tower 10. I have a feeling I can avoid the crowds which are at Regal 14 and I can now sit back and almost enjoy a WHOLE theater JUST to myself. Also, if you should get a Regal Card which works at all the Regal theaters. I have been using my now for several years. From the Card, at times when I buy a ticket... I get FREE Popcorn, drinks and other items at the counter. Once I got a FREE Ticket. The Regal Card is Free and why not take advantage of what they have to offer.... Check out Regal Cinemas 10. The events of March 18 were horrible and traumatic for me and my children! A simple trip to the movies turned violent by the Regal West Tower MANAGEMENT And Staff at 8998 W Broad St, Richmond, VA 23294. We First arrived to the theater at 9 PM . Myself my oldest son,(10yrs) my nephew(10yrs), and my Youngest Son,(6yrs turning 7yrs) whose birthday were celebrating. We went to see the new Scream Movie in 3D. The children were excited as we approach the counter to order our tickets. The Staff was nice as One employee ant the counter asked for all of my children's ages for the movie. I told the employee all of the children's ages and another employee staff also heard as well. 10 PM was the last 3-D showing for the movie and we purchased the 10pm tickets. one adult and three children for $63.18.. with an hour wait we decided to stop bye a near by relatives home to wait out here the weight of the remainder of the time. The children were so excited for the movie, especially the birthday boy because scream is his favorite thriller movie. At the relative home we picked up my nephew (10yrs) who also wanted to tagalong and see the film. We arrive back to Regal West Tower 8998 W Broad St, Richmond, VA 23294 at 9:55pm. I made time to purchase 1 more Childs tickets and large popcorn, and fountain drink just before the movie started but that when everything went wrong. As I approach the counter Manager Candace is taking my order at the registers. I started my asking for one additional child ticket for Scream 3D for 10pm and a large popcorn and large drink. Candace immediately and rudely ask "how old are all of them" my immediate response was I already have tickets for three of the children I just need to purchase an additional one for my nephew who is 10. Candace assumed that I did not purchase tickets a hour earlier because her response was "who do you have tickets for and when" I showed her my receipt and my three children tickets I just recently. Candace then asked "how old is he and he" pointing to my nephew (10yr) and my youngest son(6yrs turning 7yrs), who birthday it is. I responded with their ages and let her know. I only needed one additional child ticket for my nephew(10yrs) Candace reply that she cannot sell me another child's ticket. I explain to Candace that her employees already sold me the tickets and asked the children for their ages and the employees also vouched that they did as well.. Candace rudely reply that regal policy is no child under 7 can see a R rated movie. .I'm very confused on what does she want me to do next. Candy said she was going to have to refund me my initial purchase of 63.18 for my tickets I purchased 1 hour earlier. I explained that we already purchased the tickets and was already verified ages and we only needed an additional ticket. Candace said policy is policy and they are correcting an issue that her employees made a mistake. By allowing me to purchase tickets for my youngest son, who birthday we were celebrating .The children were shock and disappointed. I asked Candace if I would've just walked in and got the kids seats came back out and got popcorn, then the children will be seeing the movie. Her response was we cannot see the movie. So except the refund or except nothing. So no other option I accept the refund and another manager name Jonathan intervene. Jonathan explain that yes I had tickets but I would have never got past him and he would've sent us back around. So now we're harassing parents and children with already bought tickets at the gates. Jonathan stepped in and got very angry and loud with me as I was leaving. Jonathan attempted to attack me. My children were scared for their lives and crying. Jonathan openly stated that he hates children and he never wants to have them . (Recorded on Camera) All I can think of is what kind of company business management ruins, a child's birthday over a situation that was their own staffs fault. As we left out, Jonathan continue to curse and scream, and followed us all the way to the parking lot. Jonathan attempted to rush at me several times and making my children run back as well. How embarrassing and disappoint I felt as a father. Surveillance camera can show the whole entire altercation. A hidden gem. I saw Black Panther here on Thursday night. It's an old theater, but the sound system was louder than newer theaters. Black Panther tickets were sold out in other theaters, and luckily there were still tickets to the 10:30PM showing. I love old theaters...it was my first time at this theater. The location is a bit far from where I live, but I definitely would come support this movie theater. read more

This is one of the best movie theaters in Richmond, and easily the best Regal theater. It's sort of nostalgic - they still have neon signs behind the concession counter (and even have an abandoned second concession stand in the back of the theater). It sort of reminds me of the old theater at Chesterfield Town Center that I spent a bit of my youth playing hookie in. My girlfriend and I will usually always go here, especially to see newer films, because it is usually a lot less crowded and the crowd is usually older and more respectful. They also offer matinee pricing until 3:55 Sunday-Thursday. They still get the same selection of movies and even some of the more independent ones (I've seen several A24 films here). Prices are comparable to any other theater, but they do not have IMAX and I'm not even sure if they offer 3D movies. All in all, a true cinephile's theater. If you love movies as much as my girlfriend and I do, check out this gem of a theater for your next moviegoing experience. A+ read more

West Tower Theater... it's a place that 99% of all movie-goers dont even consider as an option when going to see a movie. I got a free ticket from a friend to see a movie I wanted to see and it was ONLY available at this theater so we had no choice. This place hasn't really changed too much since my last visit about 10yrs ago. It looks dated and there's nothing modern looking about it. The moment we all walked into the theater it was muggy and there was definitely NO A/C on. We initially sat in some seats towards the back/middle and there was no cushion on those seats. We moved several rows forward and that was the best decision of the night! They were newer seats and were more comfortable to sit in. Movie started at 7PM and the trailers started at 7.20PM... uhh.. what's they delay? no idea, what was worse, there was NO sound on until about 7.30 PM and we had to re-watch the LOTR/Pacific Rim Trailer three times in a row. Whoever was operating the Projector didn't know what they were doing. Sound quality is not the best and it wasn't as deep/thundering as other newer theaters. Wouldn't really recommend this theater as you have other options around town. read more

This is the worst Regal I have been to. Went there last night to watch the New Tyler Perry Movie and couldn't believe the type of seating that was in theatre 8. It was so dark I have to use my phone lights to make sure I was sitting in a clean spot. The popcorn was cold and stale. I would never go back to that theatre AGAIN. read more

I was really unimpressed with this movie theater. First, they still have unassigned seats which isn't a big deal, more of an inconvenience. It's not stadium style seating either, everyone is on the same level. You can literally hear the other movie in the theaters next to yours and peoples conversations out in the hallway as well. Concessions were a nightmare. It took 15 minutes just to order a popcorn. Lastly, they were letting people into our theater BEFORE the movie was even over. Bright flashlights and loud conversations are not how you want your movie to end. I will drive the extra 20 minutes and pay the extra money and go to the short pump theater from now on. read more

It's not a bad theater but it's definitely something out of the 1980s/90s. It's one of those retro looking theaters with purple walls and intergalactic squiggles on the carpet. There was no true ticket booth but rather a converted concession stand. This was just plain weird. Concessions were kind of disappointing. The popcorn wasn't fresh. It was in a big bag waiting to be used. It was cold and not a whole lot of fun to eat. It seemed like the staff at the stand were just waiting for the place to close down. The theater was super quiet. The seats weren't bad but it wasn't stadium-like. You would definitely be annoyed if someone sat right in front of you. Overall, it's a good enough app theater but it seems like it's on its last leg. It was nice to have a nearly empty theater to yourself. read more

I'm a very avid moviegoer and living right down the street makes this my main go-to (Been to this theater somewhere around 60-70 times in 2016). The staff recognize me instantly, and I have always had a great experience interacting with them. The location means that while it's a movie theater, it's almost never crowded, and I've never had an issue seeing a movie on release night, regardless of how popular the movie is. It is an older theater, and you can tell when you get there and walk in, but that doesn't diminish from the experience one bit. The front theater rooms have the newer seats, and the ones in the back (near the old concession stand that's not in use) either have a mixture of older/newer seats or just the older seats. They aren't uncomfortable, just slightly tall and you can't rest your feet on them like you can with the newer seats, that's the only drawback. Concessions may take a little longer sometimes if it's a busy night, but it's generally just like going to any other theater. Overall, I think it's incredible that a theater that's still running like it would've been 20 years ago is still able to do so well without all the bells and whistles that you see at the new theaters. (I also had a moment the other day when I went in and it was just me in the theater. As I said, the staff recognizes me on site, and they know I don't like to use my Regal points. As a result, I was buying my ticket and the manager and a few other employees were inside telling the newer guy who was selling tickets to "not ask about my points" and it ended up cracking every single one of us up. It was really an amazing experience just to top off my favorite theater in the area.) read more

Secret movie theatre, although it's not a UA anymore. It's a Regal. Always somewhere to park. Always a good seat. This is an old school theatre that hasn't been updated since it was built... This is the hidden gem of movie theaters! Granted, it isn't super posh or brand spakin' new, but it's clean, great location (for me) and not usually super crowded. During my last visit, I noticed one of the theaters had reclining seats, so they seem to be upgrading. The staff is always friendly and helpful. If you live near by I highly recommend West Tower over dealing with the drama and crowds at Shorty P or other theaters. p.s. This is one of Richmond's older movie theaters and it's definitely showing some age. The floors are sticky, the screens aren't that big and the theaters are normal, not the stadium set-up most newer theaters have. That said, I still come here because it's always a lot less crowded than the move theater in Short Pump. You can almost always get tickets to the movie you want and parking is easy. The popcorn is good and there's a super cute little old man who tears your ticket when you go into the theater. Plus, Gelati Celesti is nearby...the best pre- or post-movie treat! read more

There are several reasons why I am a fan of West Tower. 1. It's not popular, which means it quiet. 2. Some of the theaters have new seating. 3. Has the same movies as the newer theaters. 4. The shopping center has restaurants, donuts and ice cream shops conveniently located. 5. Rarely a line, because no one goes there. 6. Old school, 80's vibe. Think pale pink bathroom tiles with turquoise accents. 7. Tattoo, Sticker and candy machines. Need I say more. 8. Park right in the front, because no one is there.
