I do like myself a Regal. In fact, when we all thought the Ithaca Mall Regal was going to close, I was quoted by the Cornell Sun saying, "I would prefer to have a Regal theater. I'm from New York City, and we have Regal a lot, so it's definitely a different experience." For being a movie theater inside of a mall this place passes most expectations. I go here regularly when visiting friends friends. The staff here are extra friendly and today they were giving out free samples for the new Bob Marly movie! We ended up seeing the new Madem web movie and it was alright but at least the theater itself was super comfy! read more

I can't say I've ever had a particularly fantastic experience here. I've been going for years (convenient location), but have always felt "meh" about the experience. For one: a couple years ago, I went to one of the Marvel movies with friends. We were seated near the top of the theater when a couple high school-aged kids below us started using an e-cigarette and blowing it into the air. We asked them to stop, but they laughed it off. We asked an attendant to have them stop, but the attendant shrugged it off as well. Ugh. Over the years, my experiences with the staff haven't been any more helpful. Honestly? I've just tried to interact as little as possible with the staff here because they always seem miserable. During a recent visit to see the Bad Moms sequel on Christmas Day (I get it... nobody likes to work on Christmas Day, but it's a theater and service is part of the job), my mother and I waited for what seemed like forever for a staff member to even get to the concessions counter. Once there, we placed our order with a guy who seemed like he could barely be bothered... and then he disappeared into the back room again. I mean, really? C'mon... you're working. When he finally came back to the counter, we were given our full order and went on our way to our movie showing. It just seemed ridiculously off-putting. Again, the pro for this theater is convenience. They have a decent variety of movies showing, etc. (and alternative options for theaters around Ithaca are minimal); personally, I tend to buy tickets on Fandango beforehand so that, again, I can try and get to my movie without having to depend too much on staff accessibility. TL;DR Much better cinema experiences elsewhere. Staff members generally look pretty miserable. Going here is just a matter of convenience. I wish we had more cinema options around here. read more

The women at the concessions stand where tickets were sold were very nice. I tried to purchase them online before going, but my cell phone kept downloading the form necessary for my card purchase (I have very good credit), and we decided to buy the tickets at the theatre. However, as soon as we walked in, the stench was overwhelming, at least for me. They need some engineered solutions, like venting fans, om goodness, people sitting there, like it's their personal bathroom or something, lol. Actually what was even worse, after the noxious smell got used to (no alternatives, other than put on my mask, or just not breathe), were the preliminary screenings. We got there 15 minutes early for the 4:30 show, "No Time to Die," but they lasted until 4:55! If you like virtual fantasy flick previews, and some politically correct woman lecturing to you about how much fun you're having, great! I'm just a bit out of the norm I guess, it was torture for me (but she did have a very sexy look, ooo, la, la). As the world becomes more "virtual," and very little of reality is left, I'm trying to accept it, even if I never seem to stop being surprised, disillusioned, offended, and appalled. I moved to the area during the pandemic, so the theater was still closed. I could not wait for it to reopen, as I love watching movies on the big screen, with a warm bag of popcorn. I have gone many times since they reopened. It is a nice place, with friendly staff, and a senior discount. The food court is close by. I do think the movie selections need some improvement, as they are geared to a younger crowd, and the start times are now later, due to staff shortages. All in all, a good experience and it's wonderful to still have a genuine movie theater so close to home. read more

I wish I could give regal a 5. I love going here, but alas, I cannot. The prices are absolutely bananas and the showing times are really confusingly scrolled through. If not for those things, this theatre would be perfect. The popcorn here is some of the best movie theatre popcorn (and yes, I am a connosieur). The portions for larges are huge and have refills so if you are with a group, definitely opt for the bigger size. It isn't that much more and you get a lot out of it. The seats are comfy but not reserved recliners (which I like but if you're going for the full on cushy recliner seats, this is not what you're getting), so if you're going to a packed movie, get there early! And again, the prices for the movie tickets are just nuts. More than $13 for an evening weekend show? I know I'm spoiled but I think 10-11 is a bit much. 13.85 or whatever is just stupid. Try off hours. The big benefit is that regal has a sick rewards program that you can use for free tickets if you go often enough. It is free to join and worth doing, especially in sugar an expensive theatre. read more

Large selection of movies and start times. Pleasant staff. Clean and spacious, modern theatre. Comfy seats. Excellent sound quality. Large food selection if you can afford it. Love the regal card rewards, especially free movies. Only complaint is handicap toilet stalls are at the far end of about 20 stalls. I work for a person who can't walk well. Really? You make a handicap person hobble as far as possible!? Also entrance has handicap auto doors but exit does not. They let you in but don't let you out? Glad however that plenty handicap parking and for the handicap seats. However if handicap person comes with 2 friends one friend will have to sit alone in a far away row. read more

Even for a giant chain movie theater this place isn't very good. 1. The previews - its getting a little ridiculous. Previews are starting to go on for over 30 minutes. On the plus side, no big deal if you are running a minute, or 30, late 2. Prices - Student discounts only exist during the days students don't see movies (Mon - Weds). Its 11$+ (2013) for a movie ticket if you aren't getting a discount 3. Food - Its outrageously priced (like most big theaters). If you sneak in outside food they really don't care as long as your not making it obvious, i.e. don't come in with a bunch of "subway" bags or licking an ice cream cone. if you have a sweet tooth, there is a Target in the mall, so you can get some candy at 1/5th the price of the concession stands (and they let you in with a target bag). Overall its your standard big movie theater, no better, maybe a bit worse. read more

This theater, in Ithaca, recently made some changes to the way they do things that I find pretty lousy. First, they decided to do away with the ticket booth and have started sellingI tickets at the concession stand, which means if there is a crowd buying items like popcorn, soda, etc. people buying tickets need to wait on the same line creating a log jam and very unorganized way to purchase a ticket. Then, today I discovered you need to choose an assigned seat at the same time, adding even more time to the ticket purchase. Half the fun of going into a theater is scoping it out to decide where you want to sit. I think the whole process is ridiculous and unnecessary. Or, at least organize it so different lines are distinguished between ticket sales and concession items. read more

We used to enjoy going to Regal and even bought the unlimited pass last year. But now they make you wait in the concession line to get your ticket. Oftentimes this means waiting 20 minutes in back of others who want popcorn and drinks. I thought I was purchasing the Unlimited Pass for convenience, but now it is a real pain to use it. And they want you to select seats before entering the theater - even if there is hardly anyone in the theater. Ridiculous. I REALLY dislike these changes. At least create a separate line for those who just want their ticket THAT THEY ALREADY PAID FOR! read more

Pretty good experience, staff were very kind and welcoming. Went to see The Invisible Man and I was practically the only one in the theater. It felt like my own personal showing because they even delivered me my chicken nuggets. Considering that it was 11 at night. read more

Zero stars. This is the second time I've visited and the second time they haven't been able to start a movie without projector issues. I've never experienced this anywhere else. It's truly remarkable the level of incompetence they strive for at Regal Ithaca Mall. read more

Good theatre. Poor movie selections. Super expensive food (my god, sneak some in). The bathrooms are clean. The sound was quality.

What a miserable experience. My granddaughter is visiting. After spending $40+ on movie tickets and &45 on concessions...we get into the theater (over 20 minutes before the movie started) to discover that they had reserved the entire upper section for a birthday party. We were in the 2nd row (which made it impossible for us to see despite the crinke in my neck) It was such a disappointment. When my husband inquired, their response was do to absolutely nothing. Did not apologize, offer a refund, offer a different show time, or even pretend to care about our family's $85.00 experience. read more

I saw the movie "Interstellar" this week. The volume level was extreme for the coming attractions, to the point of being painful. I hoped the movie would not be so loud, but not to be. I had a headache halfway through and had to plug my ears to make it through. I can't imagine why the sound has to be so loud. I will not be able to go to your theater if this is what I can expect.
