Small theater but very old fashioned. Love the old time feeling. Concession stand is very basic but very reasonable

On a weekend trip to Corning, me and my cousin explored all that this charming town has to offer. One of our stops was Palace Theatre located on the main street downtown. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see much of this old-school theatre as it was closed. I'm not sure if it was closed due to the pandemic or permanently but the most we were able to see was the nice facade from the outside and peak through the windows to get a glimpse of the inside. I can't touch on the movie experience here but I hope they open back up! read more

The Palace Theater is a small, locally owned digital movie theater located on historic Market St/downtown Corning. They offer 2 theaters with comfortable, reclining chairs equipped with drink holders. I never feel cramped in the seats, even when there are people on both sides of me. There are also a few seats which offer little tables in front of them, which is a neat and unique feature of the theater. The movies are reasonable priced as are the drinks/popcorn/candy. As in most theaters the food and beverage items are always expensive, but the Palace is a little cheaper than the Arnot Mall and other theaters I've been to. The theater is clean, and the staff is friendly. I would like to comment that they were formerly a cash-only business (ATM available on site), but now they are equipped to accept all major credit cards. Thank you for that - at times to pay with a debit card or credit card is so much more convenient for the consumer!!! In summary, I love The Palace Theater, it is by far my theater of choice all the way around, plus it's great to support a local business. If there is a movie I want to catch before it comes out in DVD, I always wait for it to be offered at The Palace so I can see it there. Highly recommended! read more

I will first tell you this place is locally owned which a huge plus for me I always try to shot locally. This is located right on Market St which is very convenient if you are eating on in the area. This a small theater that only has 2 rooms both are not very big. However they are always clean and have nice comfortable chairs. Picture quality is just as good as Regal however I will say some of the ads before the movie need some help. It ran 3 times and never had any sounds! One HUGE PLUS is movies are 8.50 that is far cheaper than going to the Mall! The candy, drinks ect are on par with any other theater. They do accept credit cards which is really nice. The verdict This is the best place to see a movie in the area. It has the best price, nicest theaters, and is local owned. What more could you ask for other than maybe not having a nice lot to park in. read more

Reasonably priced, friendly, clean, we love this place. It has a wonderfully picturesque entrance and we go as often as we can! *Pro tip #1: Get here early to get the seats with the tables. The regular seats are, cramped (I'm 6'3"). *Pro tip #2: Bring something warm, it gets pretty chilly in here. read more

The best movie theatre I've ever been too. It's quaint and comfy. Staff is very nice. Snacks are reasonably priced. Only two rooms so not a lot of choices but it more than makes it up in convenience. Staff doesn't know what they're doing and snotty. Asked three times by the girl who was standing next to the popcorn about size. It's a small it's not hard. Pretty annoyed with them. Maybe not have catty teenage girl who will roll their eyes. I don't recommend this place to anyone. read more

The first thing I noticed when I was getting tickets and food was the staff was very friendly. Prices for tickets are $8.50 which is much cheaper than the Arnot Mall theaters. Concessions are about average with any other movie theater. The theater and the stairs and hallway were very clean, cleaner than almost every theater I've been to. It only has two theaters but it's very quaint and the smaller theater size felt more intimate than small. Stadium style seating is a plus so everyone can see over taller guests. The seats are mostly comfortable however you want to get there early to have seats with tables in front of them for room to stretch out, the seats without a table are extremely cramped and the person in front of you will most certainly hit your knees with the back of their seat. That was the only downside to my experience and overall I would highly recommend this theater if you're in the Corning area and don't want to travel to Arnot mall and pay twice the price. read more

Great little small town theater with some personality. Has 2 theaters with semi-reclining chairs. Some of the rows include tables. It is very clean and I'm always happy to go here if they are playing something I'd like to see. It's nice to eat on Mkt Street then walk right to the movie afterwards. This is an awesome small intimate movie theater. They often have the hit movies that are out at the time and its just a blast going here for a comfy viewing. Also the floors aren't sticky at all! Gotta love that! read more

This is a quaint, small theater with some character. The people who run it are nice, friendly, but not real fast. Takes time to get tickets and popcorn. You have to climb stairs to get to the movie. My wife and I learned on our first trip to get there early, the locals take all the good seats. The row that was comfortable had a guy with his coat on the seat next to him and a woman saving one seat with single seats on either side. DON'T SIT IN THE BACK ROW. When a guy sat in front of me his seat was pressing against my knees for the whole film. This was on a Monday evening for a film that had been out for weeks. Very uncomfortable. read more

Being new to town has its ups & downs. The Palace Theatre is most definitely one of the ups! The clean, charming, and friendly atmosphere was a lovely treat. The only thing to mention negatively was the sound quality. It wasn't the best (or the worst) I've heard. We'll definitely see our movies here & skip out on the big Regal at Arnot Mall. read more
