On March 12th, the individuals who are buying our home in Oxford, Michigan hired a company out of Clarkston, Michigan named Regal Home Inspections to do the inspection on our home. So of course, we left our house. Took the babies and took the dogs out of the house for a few hours so we would be out of the way and allow them to fully do whatever it was they needed to do so. The inspection began at 12:30pm, our realtor informed us they can take up to 2 hours usually so don't be alarmed if it's taking awhile. That being said, it was around 2:30 in the afternoon and in our sons room we have a baby monitor that is connected to our phones. Well sometimes it picks up noise outside in the hallway and the motion detection had gone off. Me being nosey and curious, I was like hmmm they've got to be wrapping up so I wonder if I can hear them and what they are saying. See how it is going! So I open the app on my phone and begin trying to listen in on whatever I might hear. About 10 seconds after I open the app, I see an individual walk into our sons room, whom I know now to be 1/2 of the inspectors at our home. The man enters our sons room, and begins to look around while kind of feeling his genital area. Which immediately I thought was weird but he's a male and maybe he was readjusting? Didn't read too much into it initially. He then proceeds to walk over to our sons teepee in the corner of his room that has his alphabet mat along with all his stuffies lined up on the floor inside of it. I then see him pick up our sons tickle me elmo and thought hmmmm okay this is really weird. This is when I hit record on his monitor, but at the time my husband was working from home and I have a toddler and baby to look after on my own during the day. I got distracted with my toddler doing whatever and had to help him for about 15 seconds, when I look back at my phone, I see this man stepped halfway in and halfway out of our sons closet with the tickle me elmo in hand masturbating. in. our. child's. room. with. his. stuffed. animal. He then turns around, zips up his pants and places elmo BACK next to all his other stuffed animals in the teepee, then makes DIRECT EYE CONTACT with the baby monitor camera. And oh yes. I have this ALL on camera, recorded.
I of course, doing ANYTHING in my power took to writing a review on this business explaining our experience and trying to warn anybody and everybody NOT to hire this company. The owner in turn, not only began harassing me but my cousin (our realtor) with emails, calls, texts, BRIBING me with money to take down my reviews because I, ME, MY FAMILY the INNOCENT VICTIMS in this situation were now hurting his family and daughters because of his worker who did this heinous act that he had "nothing to do with". Me being me was guilt tripped into taking down my reviews, with the absolute reassurance that this man had been fired from the company and never to be seen again working for him. I told him I wanted absolutely nothing to do with his money and he needed to leave my cousin and I alone IMMEDIATELY and I would take down the reviews. As a woman of my word.. I did just that.
That leads us to tonight, where I go to see if anyone else had a negative experience with this company because you know it's late and I can't sleep. Only to find a review from a WEEK AGO!!! Stating this man who committed this act in our home who remind you, I along with my cousin and the POLICE were told was fired on the spot from this company had done a wonderful job inspecting their home and would recommend him to anyone who needed a home inspection done.
I can tell you right now, the way this situation was handled by the owner and the individual who committed the act. This was NOT the first time something like this has happened and this will NOT be the last. GOD FORBID he has gone any step further and done anything even more disturbing. This man should NEVER be allowed in somebody's home or around children PERIOD.
