Experience: Godzilla x King Kong Pros: Theater was a decent size and sound quality was great. Movie was amazing as well. Cons: $15.50 for one adult at 6:40pm. Tickets are steady climbing in price. Should have went for IMAX as the price isnt that much different

Today my wife and I saw the new Marvel movie. It was our first time in this movie theater it was spotless and priced moderately.

Downtown movie magic up those escalators, clean cinemas, friendly concession and ticketing staff make viewings here special.

Went to the matinee earlier today to see 'Roadrunner' (the documentary about Anthony Bourdain). I really enjoyed the film but after the 2 hours in the theater my back was pretty sore. It's a nice enough place, but crappy seats in my opinion. $30 for the matinee & a large bucket of popcorn was pretty reasonable. Place seemed clean & staff were professional. Men's restroom was clean and gf said women's restroom was clean as well.

We made a return trip to this theater on our recent trip to Regal Cinemas to see Foxcatcher. Although the movie was slow and the actors were the worst looking possible for Channing Tatum, Mark Rufalo and Steve Carrell, the experience was pretty good. We were able to pre-buy tickets, using a scan code on our smart phone to check in. They now offer BEER and WINE with your snacks, which was new compared to the last time we were and well welcomed. Hurray for movies in style!

**WC** I know...I know! Four years ago I said "NEVER AGAIN" but I did it...for one reason only... Transpotting 2 - they were the only theater that was playing it. Ugh... I dreaded it. I rolled up in my wheelchair...oh, elevator right there...k...oh, even a passthru elevator ...alright... Not a huge fan of the sign pointing out the window saying I could purchase tickets there but I was a fan of the lovely lady waving her arm right at me with a smile saying she would love to get me tickets and so sorry about that sign! If you are in a chair at this theater your "companion" gets in free! I even had a pass left a friend gave me for my birthday so woot! Free movie! She coded our tickets wrong (without assigning us seats) and she was VERY nice about it and apologized worked fast to get us the correct tickets. Next up - super nice guy rang us up for popcorn and a cherry slushie because this is how I roll. He did PERFECT butter...EPIC BUTTER...layered and fast! Thanks guy :) The theater was great - super clean though I had to laugh and poke fun of the "Need Assistance" button next to my sitting area in ADA. I was snapping a picture of it because HEEHEE...I might need assistance...like world peace, a massage...or how do you say movie in Japanese please (you won't let me use my phone soooooooo). As I was musing with my husband as to all the ways that button can and might be used by someone to be a complete asshole (and probably has been), I still think it is pretty rad that someone with GENUINE special needs actually has an easy way to reach out without having to scream or something. So...good on you Regal! I did apologize to the adorable teenage couple sitting behind us with an assurance her shoes weren't going online. We all shared a laugh and I also made sure they need they could reach out if they needed help as well :) As for the popcorn...DELICIOUS, freshly popped...fine quality butter like substance and a perfect cherry slushie. Think I need to go to another movie soon...

Wow - I didn't know that I had stumbled upon such a controversial theater! This is one of those places that makes the "rating details"* both completely applicable...and at the same time utterly useless! I mean...who do you trust?!? Well - I'm not going to touch on the motifs of architecture used in the theater's design, nor will I hit on the debate on whether nodes in the viewing room exist or not. And it is ALWAYS a painful process pulling out 10 bones for a film...no matter where you are. But what I LOVE LOVE LOVE about Fox Tower are the smaller and lesser known films they choose to show. Somehow, this exceltionally corporate environment goes against the grain to show independant films - a brilliant change of pace from the tragically formulaic selection of most corporately owned theaters. It's like you get all the benefits of being a part of the Regal Group (think big, cushy seats that both rock and recline) ...but the incredible selection of a small theater at a film festival! Unfortunately, this paradox comes with a price...and more specifically: $10. I'd say go to a matinee...but even that is $8. Boo. *(for a good time, hit that little "ratings details" link at the top of the page...it's more exciting than the California housing market!)

It's expensive but you're paying for the experience and I'd say it's worth it once in a while. I saw 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple here, kind of a weird choice for a movie theatre where you eat dinner- it was pretty gnarly. The good: -couches/comfy seating -actual food -friendly staff -neat atmosphere The less good but not necessarily bad: -having to wait to be brought to the theatre by a host -much more expensive than a regular movie theatre -no cherry coke (but they do offer a Roy Rodgers) -the popcorn is REALLY buttery which is cool if you're into that but I was overwhelmed by the sogginess

Simple expectations - good service, good food, good product, good experiences. In the world of service, that isn't difficult to provide. To get a 1-star review from me takes actual WORK. I must say, Studio One Theaters absolutely earned in every-single-way, this review. Let's start with purchasing tickets online. The platform is poor. The tickets are double the cost of any other small local theater. By the time you get to the purchase page, you're total will double in fees. They don't give you a confirmation number... you just have to assume your purchase went through. No confirmation email, nothing. The only way I knew I had made a purchase was by the charge on my credit card. The parking situation is poor. I was fortunate that I found a spot but the overall parking lot situation is a nightmare. We got stuck for 10+ minutes trying to leave, we finally escaped through an alley way. Alright, let's get to the actual experience. We arrived a bit early hoping to get our seats early or enjoy a drink at the bar. We stood around for 10 minutes while staff ignored us. Three behind the bar, one behind the register, two random floaters. They didn't as much as acknowledge our existence. After one of them finally got off the phone, we were acknowledged and told we needed to wait. We took a seat at the bar. I ordered a 10oz wine that was served in a tiny 8oz glass. The metal-and-glass bar was noticably dirty, the dust was thick on the shelves of the bar overhead. We were promptly ignored by the staff, only to get their attention when it was time to tab-out. Approximately 30 minutes before the movie, we were finally granted access to the theater. The manager invited us to the theater we had tickets for. We were then held hostage as we slowly crawled down the hallway while we were tormented with his pre-scripted speech. It started much like the disney script of "we have 45 members of our cast and crew" that work here 24/7 and 365. First, leave disney's script to disney (left lower-case so the review doesn't get flagged). None of the sales pitch was believable. This is a tiny little theater in Portland... the big-brand theaters don't even employ that many people per / theater. Much less, could any reasonable person believe that a theater has chefs and staff that work 24/7 at a theater open Monday-Friday from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM and Saturday-Sunday from 8:30 AM to 11:00 PM. Doesn't even make sense. Then, out came the iPad pics of mediocre food he was trying hard to sell. No thanks. Once seated, our waiter appeared to take our orders. We asked for a few minutes to review the menu. The prices were outrageous. That's a difficult comment to get out of me... price doesn't matter when the product stands behind it's value... this however, immediately felt off. The waiter felt impatient and pushy. The minute we didn't order a ridiculously overpriced alcoholic beverage, he was done with us. He did return 10 minutes later, we resolved to a "medium" popcorn for $11 of which, was TERRIBLE. Honestly, I didn't know you could make bad popcorn. Studio One Theaters has BAD POPCORN. Tasteless, burnt, just awful. Once we ordered the popcorn, declined $30/ea appetizers and $40+/ea entrees, the waiter was done with us. He huffed away, never to return. The popcorn showed up, salt-less, cold, burnt, and tasteless. We pushed it around the weird metal bowl it came in and ultimately, gave up. The movie started and the talking started. First, everyone in the row behind us completely ignored the movie for the first 30-minutes. The water that had abandoned us completely and fully ignored us but had fog-horn volume conversations taking order, laughing, conversing, completely ignoring the movie that had just started. Then came the food. Orders being delivered, one after another on loud plates with chunky silverware. Nothing better than listening to spoons and forks scrape against plates while people conversed as though they were the only ones in the room... it then got worse... ...the people directly behind us decided to call the theater out on their less-than-mediocre menu. Everything they ordered was terrible, of which, we heard them very loudly and very clearly complaining to each other. When they complained to the waiter (mind you - WHILE the movie is playing!) he decided to argue before taking away the horrible food. THEN, making things even WORSE, here comes the manager. He decides to want a full narrative of what was wrong with the food and why. After a lengthy 5+ minute conversation, he then offered them more food, they declined because it was so bad. They left 1/2 way through the movie. The talking never stopped. Someone finally yelled out "shut up" near the end of the movie. People were rude. The staff was awful. The food and beverage was less than mediocre. This isn't worth a second try. Horrible.

From the start, the theater's air conditioning was not working, making the environment uncomfortably hot and leading to multiple moments of physical discomfort. We were later informed by an employee that the HVAC system has been down and there is no clear timeline for repair, which was disappointing to hear...especially since this was not communicated to guests ahead of time. In addition, the audio had major issues during the first half of the film, and the movie had to be paused midway to address the problem. While we understand that technical difficulties can happen, the way the situation was handled added to our frustration. When we spoke with the manager, Danielle, her response came across as defensive and dismissive of our experience. This was particularly frustrating given that she had a box fan positioned on the counter directly facing her, while guests in the theater were left dealing with the heat. It made the situation feel minimized rather than acknowledged. We do appreciate that refunds were provided, but customer service is just as important as compensation. A more empathetic and proactive approach would have made a significant difference in how this situation was received. We hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve both facility conditions and customer service moving forward

The venue had standing room and high-tops on the same level as the stage. Upstairs is theater style seating that was decently comfortable and had a counter spot to put your drink.
