Had a great time at tomorrow theater watching Moulin Rouge. We sat in E6 and E7 and the view was great - I am on the shorter side so I think any closer would be tough. As stated in other reviews the seats aren't the best, however it didn't really feel uncomfortable until maybe the last 10 minutes of the 2 hour movie. Their concession stand is well priced and both their old fashioned and margarita was tasty.

Checked out the Tomorrow Theater last night for the first time and had a great time! I attended the Friday the 13th 3D/Bingo showing and loved the combo! The host, Violet Hex was fabulous and made the bingo cards themed to the movie, death by 3D check! Fun prizes for everyone who completed their card too! The only thing I didn't love was the prices of the concessions, $6 can of water....no thank you. But they did have lots of drink and food options. Overall I would recommend and will be back!

Super fun evening of Drag Bingo! Great experience went with friends. Peachy Springs was hilarious.

Love all the space between seats. Great if you have long legs. At first the seats seem comfortable but after a while not as much. Hard to put my finger on it maybe they just don't breathe and everything feels a bit sloped. Don't get me wrong other places are much worse. It's small and intimate with no bad viewing seats. We have gone for two events so far. Cat video fest which is awesome!! And the Banana Pitch which I think you would enjoy much more if you were high on something. One jello shot wasn't enough. I think we will keep trying out other events they have a very diverse line up.

10/10 experience!! I'm so glad I was able to see a showing of my favorite movie ever! Thank you PAMCUT, CHESS CLUB & STANDUPCOMEDY. What a great time Go support the PAMCUT tomorrow theater now!!!

Went to this quirky little old school neighborhood theatre on Halloween and wasn't dissapointed as it was exactly as I was told it would be. The place has room between the seats so you can stretch out and they are staggered so your view is never blocked. The sound and screen are up to par just fine so there isn't anything lacking that would interfere with a great experience here. We watched a Japanese "horror" film called The House, laughed like children and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. the next time I am Portland I would consider stopping here again for a film or interesting event.

3/15/2024 - 'Ask Dr Carla' - we got some therapy and possibly new fears of snakes and clowns.

It's expensive but you're paying for the experience and I'd say it's worth it once in a while. I saw 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple here, kind of a weird choice for a movie theatre where you eat dinner- it was pretty gnarly. The good: -couches/comfy seating -actual food -friendly staff -neat atmosphere The less good but not necessarily bad: -having to wait to be brought to the theatre by a host -much more expensive than a regular movie theatre -no cherry coke (but they do offer a Roy Rodgers) -the popcorn is REALLY buttery which is cool if you're into that but I was overwhelmed by the sogginess

Simple expectations - good service, good food, good product, good experiences. In the world of service, that isn't difficult to provide. To get a 1-star review from me takes actual WORK. I must say, Studio One Theaters absolutely earned in every-single-way, this review. Let's start with purchasing tickets online. The platform is poor. The tickets are double the cost of any other small local theater. By the time you get to the purchase page, you're total will double in fees. They don't give you a confirmation number... you just have to assume your purchase went through. No confirmation email, nothing. The only way I knew I had made a purchase was by the charge on my credit card. The parking situation is poor. I was fortunate that I found a spot but the overall parking lot situation is a nightmare. We got stuck for 10+ minutes trying to leave, we finally escaped through an alley way. Alright, let's get to the actual experience. We arrived a bit early hoping to get our seats early or enjoy a drink at the bar. We stood around for 10 minutes while staff ignored us. Three behind the bar, one behind the register, two random floaters. They didn't as much as acknowledge our existence. After one of them finally got off the phone, we were acknowledged and told we needed to wait. We took a seat at the bar. I ordered a 10oz wine that was served in a tiny 8oz glass. The metal-and-glass bar was noticably dirty, the dust was thick on the shelves of the bar overhead. We were promptly ignored by the staff, only to get their attention when it was time to tab-out. Approximately 30 minutes before the movie, we were finally granted access to the theater. The manager invited us to the theater we had tickets for. We were then held hostage as we slowly crawled down the hallway while we were tormented with his pre-scripted speech. It started much like the disney script of "we have 45 members of our cast and crew" that work here 24/7 and 365. First, leave disney's script to disney (left lower-case so the review doesn't get flagged). None of the sales pitch was believable. This is a tiny little theater in Portland... the big-brand theaters don't even employ that many people per / theater. Much less, could any reasonable person believe that a theater has chefs and staff that work 24/7 at a theater open Monday-Friday from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM and Saturday-Sunday from 8:30 AM to 11:00 PM. Doesn't even make sense. Then, out came the iPad pics of mediocre food he was trying hard to sell. No thanks. Once seated, our waiter appeared to take our orders. We asked for a few minutes to review the menu. The prices were outrageous. That's a difficult comment to get out of me... price doesn't matter when the product stands behind it's value... this however, immediately felt off. The waiter felt impatient and pushy. The minute we didn't order a ridiculously overpriced alcoholic beverage, he was done with us. He did return 10 minutes later, we resolved to a "medium" popcorn for $11 of which, was TERRIBLE. Honestly, I didn't know you could make bad popcorn. Studio One Theaters has BAD POPCORN. Tasteless, burnt, just awful. Once we ordered the popcorn, declined $30/ea appetizers and $40+/ea entrees, the waiter was done with us. He huffed away, never to return. The popcorn showed up, salt-less, cold, burnt, and tasteless. We pushed it around the weird metal bowl it came in and ultimately, gave up. The movie started and the talking started. First, everyone in the row behind us completely ignored the movie for the first 30-minutes. The water that had abandoned us completely and fully ignored us but had fog-horn volume conversations taking order, laughing, conversing, completely ignoring the movie that had just started. Then came the food. Orders being delivered, one after another on loud plates with chunky silverware. Nothing better than listening to spoons and forks scrape against plates while people conversed as though they were the only ones in the room... it then got worse... ...the people directly behind us decided to call the theater out on their less-than-mediocre menu. Everything they ordered was terrible, of which, we heard them very loudly and very clearly complaining to each other. When they complained to the waiter (mind you - WHILE the movie is playing!) he decided to argue before taking away the horrible food. THEN, making things even WORSE, here comes the manager. He decides to want a full narrative of what was wrong with the food and why. After a lengthy 5+ minute conversation, he then offered them more food, they declined because it was so bad. They left 1/2 way through the movie. The talking never stopped. Someone finally yelled out "shut up" near the end of the movie. People were rude. The staff was awful. The food and beverage was less than mediocre. This isn't worth a second try. Horrible.

It used to be the Swedish Evangelical Mission Covenant Church. There's some cool millwork, antique light fixtures, and large curved staircases, but overall this is on the tamer side for McMenamins properties. The venue had standing room and high-tops on the same level as the stage. Upstairs is theater style seating that was decently comfortable and had a counter spot to put your drink. There weren't any bad views, and the sound system was better than I expected. I think there are two bars, one on each floor, but the upstairs one was closed for the small event I attended. They serve drinks and small bites, not full meals. Parking is challenging nearby.

Just east of the river, in the middle of a residential part of Portland lies this little theater. Something I was not expecting to see when I was invited to watch a friend's movie that he filmed. Let me share some information on what to expect before coming here: * Parking * Once you spot the place and drive past it, you won't find a garage anywhere. Street parking only. So be cognizant of street parking signs as well. * The Theater * A classic type of theater reminiscent of days passed with a marquee above the entrance. Upon entering, there isn't much of a lobby, but a concession stand selling everything from candy, popcorn, and drinks. They even sell beer and wine, and local canned ciders. I also heard, they're cool with you bringing in food from outside. Just not alcohol, which is understandable. Although the lobby is narrow, i still loved looking up at the movie poster decor that lined the walls. There's only one movie screen as far as I know of, so don't expect a huge building with 20 screens. I mean it is an old building with old wooden doors, brass doorknobs, heavy curtains, and tiny restrooms with exposed pipes. Inside there is a small stage in front of the main screen, available for performers and events. Yes, you can even rent out the venue as well to hold an event. As for seating, the chairs are pretty wide and fairly comfortable. There may have been only about 200 seats, so expect the closeness of audience interactions and the quiet whispers to be heard loud and clear. In short, this old school theater is definitely a historical icon of Portland, with its marquee board changed by hand and little box office up front selling tickets. Come here for homemade movies, B rated films, as well as weird random classics. Just check their website for what's showing. I enjoyed my friend's event and I wouldn't mind seeing another crazy movie here like The Toxic Avenger!
