The remodels have been great! Seating is comfortable lounge style recliners in all theaters. We went to IMAX today as we like the larger screen and found out the 3D reopens today as well so we have to come back! Staff is friendly helpful and efficient. The standard movie side had similar seating also comfy and self pour butter at the condiment station for popcorn. Lots of great changes. I go to the movies at least once a month if not every 2 weeks or so & bounce between the different theaters that are around. Destiny has dropped to the bottom of my list of options because of price & overall experience. The staff at our last movie viewing there were lackluster at best. If the price of watching a movie in theaters increases to the points they are at & the team in that space don't want to be there then that is why people choose to just watch at home or choose to go to a different theater. read more

Last year watched a lot of movies I am here to find out this theatre are doing there renovations they have old seats its go9ng to be wonderful when all is complete. I am happy for all of them. Management and staff here are super friendly. Its unfortunate for me less movies for me to watch boo hoo.poor me. Now I need to drive to another location for variety at regal movie theatre I do have the unlimited plan I highly recommend to buy it is a fantastic value. Renovations will be complete March 2026. Had an evening free after work while in Syracuse and decided to see a late(r) night film (post 9pm on a Thursday). This theater by far had the best selection of later evening weeknight films. The theater is on the top floor of a shopping mall and was very slow the evening we stopped by. I'm not complaining! We practically had the theater to ourselves (I think there were a total of 5 other people in the large theater our movie was showing in). They have a nice snack bar where we were able to get some popcorn, candy, and beverages. The workers were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The theater itself was large (one of 17 screens). The seats were comfortable though dated (no recliners in this theater). All in all, a good spot to catch a film. Get to it! read more

Saw inside out 2 here in the RPX theater. The seats were comfortable (pleather?) and the picture/sound was great. I do wish we had a bit more leg room. The workers at the concession counter were struggling big time. We probably waited for 10 min just to get some candy and the line was only 4 people long. The theater was clean. Bathrooms were clean. The staff was nice. My biggest complaint was the seats! The Regal I normally visit is in Binghamton and has comfortable seats with your feet able to go up and trays to put your snacks on. These seats felt tight. No trays, no reclining. Last night I brought my 80 year-old father to see Avatar in IMAX 3D. He hasn't been to a theater in close to ten years, and I thought he'd appreciate it for the visual spectacle. The trip from the parking lot was difficult for him, and we had to stop a number of times in order for him to continue (he is, perhaps foolishly, too proud for a wheelchair). After having our tickets scanned and halfway down the long corridor, it occurred to me that we weren't given the requisite 3D glasses, so I told my dad to wait while ran back to the lobby to get the glasses. It turned out that there WERE no glasses. The woman at the gate told me that the 3D projector was not functioning and that I need not worry about being charged for the 3D movie. I guess the $31.88 I spent on the tickets was the amount for the non-3D version (I didn't know there WAS one). I was asked if I was agreeable to see what was being shown or if I would prefer a refund. Minutes before the start of the movie and having gone through the ordeal of getting as far as we had-- I elected to stay. I ran back to collect my dad and we took our seats. We then sat through about twenty minutes of previews which I pretty much expected to my chagrin. What I DIDN'T expect was the volume of those previews. I happen to have a decibel meter on my watch (fun at sporting events to see how loud a crowd can get) and the volume was so conspicuously intense I checked to see a reading of 97 decibels. Now I LIKE loud, but I hate it when a trailer upstages a feature presentation. This is nothing new though, so I just rolled with it. I glanced over to my dad to find him wincing. On an aside-- the trailers were stupid. So it was a double barrel shotgun blast of unadulterated stupid. Once the feature began we sort of settled in. The volume was about as loud as the previews and after only a short while it became fatiguing for me. I'm sure it was unbearable for my dad. It occurred to me that the person controlling this environment hated his life and was therefore contemptuous of everyone that came to attend the movie. In fact-- I couldn't think of much else. The walk back to the car was as arduous as the walk we made two and a half hours prior. Only this time it was also sad. read more

Came to see the new Mario Cart movie with my son and nephew. They loved it. The theatre wasn't crowded at all. Although it wasn't the new seating it was still comfortable just a little "stuffy" and I could tell the place could use a little Lysol or febreeze. The kids loved it so I guess that all that matters. The popcorn is really good here too. My son dropped his on the way to being seated and it was replaced for free. read more

I can't speak for the IMAX or RPX experience but for the chairs could be a little more comfortable given this theatre is located in a mall that was a primary contender for Mall of America. I guess $12.70 isn't outrageous for a regular ticket anymore, but that's what you can expect to pay. Previews lasted about 20 minutes, which started at showtime. Large popcorn and 2 small sodas was over $20, but for as long as I waited, it should have been free. A "small" soda is 32 oz., by the way. My first time visiting the Regal Cinema location in New York and I can tell you it was the best experience ever. I came on a five day vacation to Syracuse, and I live in NYC and I have been visiting AMC theaters for as long as I can remember but this experience made me a big fan of regal cinemas. It's convenient located on the 3rd floor of the Destiny USA mall. Buying the tickets was very easy, the staff was very friendly, picking the reserved seats was very convenient as well. Regal Cinemas is a good place to catch a flick. At the automated tellers, purchasing your tickets is quick and easy. There are plenty of theaters, so I typically find a convenient showing time for the films I want to see (especially on opening weekend). The theaters are nice. The seats are comfortable, the HD picture fantastic, and the sound that perfect amount of loud for the action films. My only complaint is a common one for movie theaters: the concessions are overpriced, and the quality of food is mediocre at best. Tips: - They don't care if you bring in your own food or drink to the theater (I love carrying in a big helping of stir fry from Koto Express)! - If you prefer big screens, go see your movie early (or spring for the IMAX tickets). Typically, films that have been out a couple weeks tend are relegated to the smaller theaters. read more

I'd say the only competition that this theater has in the area is movie tavern in Camillus, the latter which has more comfortable seats and waiter service inside the theater. The IMAX theater here is great, and I don't think anywhere else in the area compares. I think the lines here get a bit too long when they get busy and the staff cannot handle it. Sometimes on a Friday night, they only have 2 employees at the ticket line, and the line to buy tickets takes 20 minutes. Best to get there early if you are there on a busy day. read more

Hands down, my favorite part of this movie theatre is that they always dedicate a couple of screens to foreign & Indie films (which they can do, because they have plenty of theatres and a diverse enough clientele in Syracuse.) There's always a Bollywood movie playing, which is pretty cool. Also, this was the only theatre I could find in the immediate area that was showing Parasite. As far as mall movie theatres go, this one is pretty average. I've definitely been to much worse ones. The theatres are kept pretty clean. It's pretty easy to grab a cheap snack at the food court downstairs and eat beforehand so that you don't have to spend a fortune on concessions. The location is pretty good too-- right upstairs from the food court, not too far from that entrance (plus it's usually pretty easy to find parking in that nearest lot, even if you do have to walk a bit.) Some mall movie theatres get lazy and get a little grimy because they have a monopoly on the flicks in town, but this Regal isn't that way, and hopefully never will be. read more

Came here to watch Crazy Rich Asians with my daughter on our last night in the east coast. We watched in XD (1st time), which honestly, I could not decipher the difference between "XD" & just a regular viewing of the movie besides the prices of the tickets. I'm giving 3 stars because after years of going to the movies in Cali where majority of the theaters have converted to recliner seats, the seats here were just not comfortable at all. Not entirely sure how to review a movie theater. But here goes nothing. Doctor who was showing their Christmas special at theaters (which I learned was a thing) so how could I pass that up. I usually stop and buy tickets at the office and wait in line. But this time around. We decided to get the tickets online with that service. They emailed me a QR code that was read by a scanner by the ticket taker, and in we went. A process that normally takes 15-20 minutes breezes by in seconds of arriving. I like that much better than waiting in line. My big complaint was with the seats in the standard theaters. The arm rest does fold up which is nice. But it's got such a straight back on it that my lower back actually was really sore by the time we left. That's mainly why I can't give this place 5 stars. Shouldn't have pain while trying to enjoy yourself. Especially with what movies cost these days. But honestly. You can't complain that a bucket of pop corn and soda are 15-20 dollars. They offer crazy refills and that's just the way theaters are now. Long gone is the day of dollar candies and such. Just eat before you get there and just enjoy the show. Maybe sneak in a bottle of water. Haha. But do that at your own discretion. All in all. It's a theater. They offer IMAX and 3D flicks here as well but those give me a headache and I can't watch them. Especially wearing glasses the glasses they give ya just aren't comfortable. So basically for me. It's just a comfort level thing in the lower end theaters. Wasn't a horrific experience. From my previous yelp review, I wanted to go to Dave & Buster's and the deal was if he went and played games with me then we could watch an action movie of his choice. DEAL! We came on a Saturday and there wasn't really a line. It's your average movie theater. Not bad. We didn't get any food from the concession but my boyfriend bought an overpriced soda. It was a typical movie theater experience. The thing that I loved about this theater was that they had photobooths right in front! I feel bad because my man hates taking photos but I begged him to do some cutesy pics with me ha ha I owe him!!! read more

I was there for a late movie and it was a great movie but an okay experience. You now have to pick your seats when you buy your ticket and sit in that assigned seat. The tickets are also so expensive. It's $13.00 a ticket and the guy at the counter didn't seem to want to be there. The girl at the snack counter however was really nice, she checked my rewards and told me what I had, and of course I used them, I had a few popcorn which was good because two drinks cost $13.00. One we were in the theater and the monks started it looked like the screen was dirty, it was really distracting during the movie. I also felt as though the sound was low. read more

I have been going to this theatre for over a decade now and it continues to give the best service and highest quality picture in Syracuse. There are over 15 screens and an IMAX in here. Even the smaller screens that are typically being used for the movies who's hype has died down, have great pictures. The prices are pretty standard among all the other movie theatre's. I can't exactly complain about Regal being overpriced when all other theatre's charge the same. Well, except for the Hollywood. They only show the movies that have been out a while though. I recently had a pretty amazing experience as well. My wife and I came here to see a movie with our two free tickets we thought we had in the system. Well it turns out that both of the tickets had expired and were going to have to pay full price. This really upset me because we had been looking forward to this treat all day. I asked if there was anything they could do, as I had no idea they expired with the new card system. The manager who was next to the employee helping me told him she would go ahead and let us watch the movie without charging me. That act of kindness really raises the bar! The only reason I cant give them a 5 star is the food isn't always on point. I love my pretzels and cheese and sometimes when you get them, they are either stale or room temp. They still taste okay, but not near as good as fresh ones. All that being said, I highly recommend this theatre. read more

What a typical theater - overpriced tickets, water and popcorn; sticky floors; humid showing rooms; inattentive staff; and average bathroom cleanliness. I thought the quality would improve with the advent of the rest of "Destiny USA." I thought wrong. We walked past the ticket check girl after paying at the window, who didn't even bother to stop us to collect our ticket stubs. Only after the four of us walked past did she realize we had only arrived for the first time. Distracted much? We strolled by the snack bar, curious at pricing. $4 for a bottle of Dasani?! I can get a 24-pack at Tops for $3.99. You might as well sneak some snacks into the theater, too - you'll end up going broke if you also buy a large popcorn and a candy bar. Luckily we'd just eaten a huge brunch, so there was no need for munchies. My rule is to visit the restroom just before a show. At least the toilet paper roll was in the right place (rather than on the floor) and there were enough sinks for 10 people to wash their hands. (I think a mother let her child walk out without washing ...) You'd expect the theater room would be air conditioned in the summer. Nope! All we had was the breeze of fans pushing around hot air. Unfortunately, there are no other decent theater options in this area. Next time I'll just pick up a movie at Redbox. read more

Hadn't been to the RPX until Rogue One came out. Beautiful theater with top quality sound, huge screen, and leather rocking chairs. The floor lighting was pretty bright, but maybe that's a new safety feature. This place is located upstairs in the mall across from the carousel area. I didn't know where to park so I randomly parked at Macy's. Do not park here. It is further from the theater than you need to be! Movie theaters in a mall are both convenient and inconvenient. It's inconvenient when you have to park far and walk through a whole section of the mall (and resist temptation to shop) and then go up escalators to get to the theater, but it's convenient when you want to buy food before/after the movies. This place is right across from the food court so it's great for grabbing food and avoiding the pricey movie theater food options. I got a red Slurpee/icee here and it was completely watery. The girl offered to switch it for me but I didn't want to risk getting blue lips with their only other flavor. They advertised 3 flavors but only had 2. The seats were fine and weren't sticky or uncomfortable. They only have 1 concession stand but multiple places where you can buy the tickets (including a machine). You can buy tickets online but there is an online convenience fee charge. The theater is definitely crowded on the weekends and on days when the weather doesn't suck. All the food spots in the entire mall had lines right before movie times started so I'd advise coming early if you want to save seats or buy food on a popular movie-watching day. read more

As far as theaters go, it gets the job done. Are there far better? Absolutely, as I've sat in better chairs and been to theaters with food and beverage bars inside. This is Syracuse, however, and we aren't quite there. We saw Black Mass, featuring Johnny Depp, and we found seats even though we were a tad into the previews when we arrived, and were comfortable enough to enjoy the movie. As with any movie theater, however, prices at the concession stand are ridiculous, but get your drinks and snacks downstairs and you're fine. read more

I've been here a number of imes and am always impressed by the cleanliness of everything. While the concession stand is sometimes crowded, lines typically move quickly and it doesn't take long to get what you need. The theater seats are relatively comfortable, but (as with most movie theaters) the temperature is often a little cold for me. So, I just dress accordingly. I also find the volume of the movies is a tad too loud for me, but that is just a personal preference. Anyone else I've been with doesn't mind the volume at all. Recently, I've also noticed that there are quite a lot of previews before the movie. I kept expecting them to end, and they just kept going on. It was a bit much. They always have a good selection of movies to chose from, given the number of screens here. My preference is to go to the first showing of the day, as it is usually pretty empty. Otherwise, movies tend to be crowded (obviously varying based on what movie). We order our tickets online through Fandango and get them sent to our phones so that we don't need to wait in line to buy tickets. I've been to nicer theaters, but overall, this is a good place to go see a movie. read more
