The theater had a showing of an anime film. I liked so I enjoyed the chair that they had and peaceful atmosphere.

Downright disrespectful! Beware there are rodents. While watching the closing credits waiting for a snippet of what to come a MOUSE politely walks up the stairs and across my feet. Never again will I attend this theater. Management then tells me yes this a reoccurring problem "but not as bad as before." My compensation and/or comfort for my experience was 2 free tickets. I highly recommend if you are able to go to the Regal Westchester location. This location is a downgrade in every sense between service and facilities. I only go to this location over Westchester if there is a confounding factor where I can't do Westchester, and without fail it just always reminds me why I avoid it at all costs. read more

We came here this past weekend to watch Beetlejuice in iMax. We enjoyed our time and the theater was clean as well as the lobby. When we got home my husband realized he didn't have his wallet. I heard something drop and originally it was my sunglasses that I later realized as my husband went back in to the theater to check for my glasses his wallet fell out of his pocket. Never found my sunglasses but that was ok because they can be replaced. We called up to the theater and spoke with a gentleman by the name of Delbert (may have spelled his name wrong) he assured us that once the current movie was done he would go in and check our area for the wallet. An hour later we get a phone call from Delbert that he found our wallet. We were so thankful and grateful! read more

It's always dirty in this theater and the lines are not efficient at all. My movie starts at 4 and got in line at 3:45 and didn't get served 4:13! Y'all want to keep these theaters open but don't work on cleanliness and efficiency. I can just stay home and watch the movie for a lot less. What an incredible experience! First time seeing a movie in IMAX and it was perfect! Rise of Skywalker in IMAX is a must! The sound and the clarity on screen made a huge difference. I wanted to update this review with how this theater has changed amid the COVID-19 pandemic and with the rise of other theaters in the region. I've noticed during COVID-19 it is far less crowded and busy and usually you won't have trouble getting seats with a lot of space around you, tickets, parking, and concessions quickly. On the negative side I feel like the theater has not worked to update itself, particularly as it seems other theaters are adding options and upgrades. The theater still feels like it always has, which can have a nostalgic boost but also is negative in that there are modern attributes more and more common among theaters - such as a greater food selection and variety in seats - that could turn this location, as the only Regal in the Midlothian area, to a far more robust and enjoyable theater experience. read more

I've been coming to this theater for many years. It's not too far from my house, and always has a ton of movies to see. And I LOVE to go the movies. The location of this particular theater is great. You have Target, Kohl's, Old Navy, etc. right by theater, so it makes it so convenient to run other errands while being out there for a movie. The theater has friendly staff and ticket kiosks inside so you can skip the outside ticket line. The concessions are pretty good too, I've had their pizza a couple of times and was impressed for the price. Don't forget - they also serve beer, but I've yet to have one there. Lol Inside the theater, I've never had a problem with sound or uncomfortable seats. However, the restroom can be a bit of a walk depending on which theater you're in, but luckily I've gotten pretty close by the last 2 movies! Definitely recommend this theater! read more

Clean theater with friendly staff and on par popcorn. Sound quality is lacking. I can't speak for the imax screens, but the sound quality in the non imax screens is extremely lackluster. I don't know if a bunch of the speakers don't work, but the last three movies I have seen here sound more like stereo sound than surround or Atmos. I have a midrange Atmos setup and home that blows away the quality of the sound here. I will only go to see a movie here if I have a gift card. You will hear the movie fine, but it isn't nearly as immersive as it used to be. read more

We went to the 12pm show of SpiderMan No Way Home which was the first show and the theater was clean and the seats were comfortable. The $9.15 price tag was the matinee price and cheaper than the military discount There were only about 15 people in that particular movie. This is my first movie in two years and since COVID. I felt comfortable and safe; the main objective during my weekend with my special grandson. We will definitely return when I'm in the area visiting. read more

Decent theater and relatively clean, but long lines for tickets we purchased in advance is a terrible idea. A HUGE pet peeve of mine is feeing like as a customer - I don't matter. When paying for something (meal, drink, movie, etc) I feel like it kind of falls on the business to accommodate. Sadly, more and more this is a common failure for many including Commonwealth 20. To save time - we purchased tickets ahead and figured that might speed up the process (really why would you buy advance tix otherwise), but it didn't. After standing in line for a few minutes - we saw a kiosk inside that appears to be where you can pick up purchased tix...but you can't. After this debacle - I went to guest services and was informed that you cannot claim your tix at the kiosk, but have to go back in the ticket line...SERIOUSLY?!?! Well, yes says the agent - it's in the fine print. That's about as helpful as nothing since I don't read the fine print, in fact, NOBODY DOES!!! That meant a return to a very long line (it had gotten much longer since we left it) with a stupidly long wait to get our already purchased tickets. Commonwealth 20 - get a clue! You should be catering to the movie going public, not telling them they didn't read the fine print. So be forewarned that prepurchased tix are pretty useless unless it's for a huge discount cause at Commonwealth 20 y'all spend waaaaaaay more time than you need to to get them. read more

I am sorely disappointed about going to this theatre. I have been going for years and always found everyone there helpful but something awful happened to me and my vehicle while there last weekend to see West Side Story. I parked in the handicap parking right to the left of the front of the building. Some brazen person decided to cut the catalytic converter out from under my vehicle in broad day light. It was between 12:30 and 3:00 on Sunday, February 27,2022. I called the police and had my car towed to a repair location. But in the mean time, the very nice Movie Theatre manager came out to apologize to me. The police and I and a friend searched for some cameras on the building and also at Dick's next door. Neither location had cameras. Now, my concern is this: it was bad enough about my situation, but what about a human misconduct taking place in the parking lot which today is possible? I personally will not go to this theatre again for the reason I mentioned above. I can't take the chance to have this happen again as some cars are very vulnerable to this happening. And, I was shocked that no one saw this action and called the police to report it. This theatre needs to install cameras on their premises.. and around the corners where it is dark. The manager told me that because they rent the space it is not their property but I believe the liability is theirs.. This is a shame because there are not alot of folks branching out to the theatre because of covid but I won't branch out here unless they decide to implement a safety feature for this theatre. read more

Your normal movie theater. This theater is very clean, and the seats are pretty comfy. Not necessarily the nicest out there, but that isn't a must. Popcorn prices are typical. Commonwealth 20 is what I'd call a sub-par movie theatre. Yes, they have basic amenities (food, drinks, and small arcade room spot), but it's so run down seeming. It's old, messy (from when I went), and seats were definitely from yester-year. Pricing is cheaper than other places, but doesn't present a competitive value proposition compared to the more expensive places. Honestly, I'd just fork out the extra few dollars and enjoy a more expensive place. Unless you're on a super strict budget and don't care where you go! read more

Went to Commonwealth 20 last night for the first time in a long time to see Ford vs. Ferrari last night. First impression of the theatre walking in was that they needed help with housekeeping, the carpet was filthy. Once getting to our seats, the floor was covered in a sticky mess and food. Then a group of a about ten teenagers sat next to us and proceeded to talk through the entire movie. got up and ran in and out of the theatre and then brought a group of their friend back into the theatre. They clearly had not purchased tickets as the seats next to us were never sold according to the app. The movie was great but this type of behavior and service is the reason I do not attend movie's very often anymore. I will not be returning to Commonwealth 20. CineBistro is worth the extra $$$ to avoid obnoxious kids and filth. read more

Well I have been going to this movie theater for years now. It's a nice theater with comfortable seating. The people that work there are very nice. They don't have true Imax. Regal isn't known for that so if that's what your looking for then go to AMC or a theater that does if you have one near you. But all in all I would recommend this theater if you just want to go see a movie. read more

Congratulations folks that didn't want to pay astronomical prices for theater food and thought you'd get in on time for a Sunday matinee. This theater is in a good location: conveniently located off of 288, a lot of places to shop in the same plaza. This place is located 10 minutes from where I live. However, I don't go to this theater at all anymore. The seats are not as comfortable as other theaters. Sure you have stadium seating, but most of the seats make a squeaking sound if you decide to recline your chair. I noticed that the IMAX theater at this location had their seats renovated. I wish they could renovate all the seats in all of the theaters. At night, there are a lot of teenagers that come to this location. It can get very crowded and hectic. In my opinion, the regal at Westchester Commons is so much better than Commonwealth 20. Sure they don't have an IMAX at Westchester, but at least it's much cleaner over there, and the seats are very comfortable! read more

I've been to this movie theater quite a few times in the past, but this is the first time I've had the opportunity to review it. Here goes my review: The Good: Early Showings- In the past, i've been accustomed to going to movie theaters where the earliest showing is around 12:00pm. This theater shows movies as early at 9:30am. And its always good to see a movie around this time to avoid the mass crowd. Multiple Screens- Some of the smaller theaters have 10 or less big screens, but if I'm not mistaken, Commonwealth 20 has 20 big screens. More than adequate to handle big crowds. Longer Showings- While some smaller theaters will keep a movie running in the theater a month or less, Commonwealth 20 will run its movies for well over a month. This theater plays movies that have finished running in other theaters around the area. Variety of Food at Concession- Some movie theater concession stands only sell popcorn, candy and soda, but Commonwealth 20 sells those items as well as slushees, nachos and several hot food items. The Bad: Concession Prices- A small popcorn is priced at $6. If you go to Carmike, you can get a large popcorn and drink for $6.50. That is a no brainer. Slow service- If you dont print your ticket off at Fandango, you will be waiting in the ticket line for a minimum of 10 minutes during the peak hours. If you get concession during the peak hours, you will stand in line for a minimum of 15 minutes. Overall- Amid the slow service and high concession prices, the theater shows a variety of movies, offers stadium like seating and provides a better movie experience in my opinion. Went to see an IMAX movie here on Saturday with my boyfriend. (Metallica: Through The Never) \m/ It was a bit of a hike for us to come out to Midlothian from Glen Allen but I wanted to see this movie in IMAX and I wasn't convienced from looking online that another theather did have it. It was the opening weekend for this feature and I'd expected a crowd but thankfully the cineama wasn't packed. It's amazing to see how theaters have changed over the past 10 years. It used to be just popcorn, soda and candy. Now you can get burgers, pizza, cheese sticks and just about anything you want. I'm a bit of a traditionalist and stuck with popcorn and diet coke. My boyfriend got a burger with fries. They messed the order up a bit and put pickles on it when he asked that they not, but he seemed to enjoy the food anyways. There were only 7 other people there to see the showing that we went to so I can't say that I was uncomfortable with the seating. I don't think it would have been a problem anyways. The seat are comfortable and not that old. We loved the movie and didn't have any problems with the theater. read more

These are newer and very clean theaters located next to a large shopping area. Parking was easy and they have typical food options that theaters do. One thing I will say is that the staff were super nice and friendly which seems to be lacking in the RVA movie theaters so that was a pleasant surprise. It's nice to be able to buy tickets at the kiosk if you want to skip the line. Good place to see a flick for sure and they have an IMAX which was nice! read more

Why have you closed the ticket line so that people who have already purchased their tickets via the app are forced to wait in line behind ticket buyers for concessions? Yeah!! Here with my oldest to check out "Avengers Age of Ultron" and we are super excited! This is my favorite theater that I can take my whole family. I prefer Cinebistro for date night with the hubby. :-) The fact they have one of the IMAX 3D theaters in the area and the best between the 2 options by FAR! They have more than enough parking though depending on what is out and what time you get there, you may need to walk a bit though. There is a fairly decent selection considering, but it would be nice if they served fries! :-D read more

Uh... where do I start... this theater can be a mess oftentimes... the ticket printing machines are broken most of the time. So, either wait in that very long line to get your tickets or get it online and print it at home. This theater can get incredibly filthy on the weekends or on busy days, trash still on the floor, popcorn all over the place. I have had better experiences in this theater, as well. When the ticket printing machine was broken the lady at the window was able to helps us which was very attentive of her. Also, I like that this theater has a good police/ security presence. read more

The plan was to meet friends to see a movie. Except that while there were tickets available when we got there an hour before the start time, 10 minutes later the movie was "sold out." Last I checked, sold out didn't mean 2 entire empty rows, plus tons of empty seats. So our friends didn't get to see a movie that had plenty of room for them. Not to mention that we waited in line to get seated for well over 30 minutes, only to be let in 10 minutes before the start time. Our food and popcorn was cold and gross. The theater hadn't been cleaned, they just have the showings scheduled literally back to back. This whole experience was a joke. I will definitely be skipping this theater and going back to Bow Tie, even though it is a much further drive. read more

Slow ticketing (usually 1 person, regardless of when we visit), sometimes unclean concession area and very slow service lines are the downs. The ups are that the theatres are typically spotless, well sized and with comfortable seating. While not my favorite movie house in Richmond, it's close and does the trick! read more
