We chose to go with the all inclusive wedding package, which took care of so many details that would otherwise be stressful. Our wedding planner/coordinator Andrea is simply amazing. She was so easy to work with and took so much stress off of us, which actually let us enjoy the planning. She was there for us every step of the way and we're forever grateful for her hard work and dedication throughout the process. Sarah the in house florist is unbelievably talented, I honestly could've just given her our colors and let her take the reigns. Sarah's way of bringing a vision to life is breathtaking. Julie the in house designer was also a dream to work with! She executed our vision above and beyond and even suggested ideas we went with that were stunning! After all of the planning our wedding day came, and what a fairy tale it was. My husband and I, our families and friends are just speechless at how magical it was. The day from the very beginning to end was perfect. The timeline Andrea put together for us went smoothly. Her and her assistant Hayley were on top of everything, and also had anything you could think of on them. Shout out to the aprons with scissors, tissues, and anything else you would never think of needing during the getting ready process! We also did a first look on the roof top. I will remember that moment forever, it was so magical and breath taking up there. The private moment we got to share together really made us feel on top of the world. Now to the good part, the food! The in house catering meadowlark was perfection! There were so many options for those who had special dietary restrictions but also so many options for those who don't. Everything, and I mean everything was delicious. The way the Takk house team comes together for your big day is beautiful. You can tell that every single one of them loves what they do and will go above and beyond to make your day special. We can never thank them enough for such a perfect day!!

I got lucky enough to be invited to the All Over Albany birthday bash at the Takk House. I was…read morepretty excited to be going, both for the party and because my niece is getting married there this summer and I wanted to check out the venue. The building is pretty nondescript from the outside with a poorly done modern façade but the interior retains the charm of a 19th century brownstone. When you enter the building you can either go up the stairs or down to the coolest looking non working bowling alley. Upstairs is a large rectangular bar and a grand staircase to the second level. Straight ahead is the ballroom, with men's and ladies rooms in the hallway. Heidi, one of the owners, was kind enough to let us take a peak upstairs - there's a couple of rooms, one set up like a bedroom, the other with a dining table and chairs. I think further along is a balcony that overlooks the ballroom. The 3rd floor contains the owner's apartment and a gym that's under renovation. The place is not bright and shiny and brand new, instead it retains its 19th century charm along with some funky cool thrown in. I think if I was looking for a non-traditional (not cookie cutter) venue Takk House would be my pick.

I've been twice with friends and it was stellar. The live performers they get are top notch and it's great to be able to Interact with them after the performance. I also appreciate there being space to dance because it really allows you to cut loose and it's great exercise too. Decor was strange and fun. I look forward to them adding to the strange wall art. I appreciate the fact that the monthly schedules that are posted to Instagram are so clear and show you exactly what to expect given the day. Staff was incredibly helpful despite how loud it can get at times and they always were nothing but courteous. The Beer and Cider selection is top notch. As a cider fan I'm glad they have many varieties and hope to see some more brands make an appearance on the menu. The bathroom was clean and well stocked although there is only one bathroom so later in the night it became a bit of a wait. Only other very minor gripes are I wish there was a few more tables because sometimes it's good to just sit down and the sound mixing can be on the loud side for an indoor performance. Other than that this place is very welcoming and provides a great time with friends. Will be sure to return many more times!

Troy Savings Bank Music Hall - A beautiful venue. Most seats look to have a great view.

Beautiful venue great sound, easy in, easy out. Unfortunately when it gets warm In the venue they…read moredo not cool it down. Why? My guess is the fact that they staff the facility with mostly untrained senior citizen volunteers who like it toasty. The same volunteers have significant difficulty guiding people to their seats because they seem to be unfamiliar with rows and seat numbers. I don't know how many times some elderly usher stood in front of me, shining their flashlight in my face, confused about where people were supposed to sit. Oh well... Still an unbelievably beautiful place to see (and hear!) a show. Truly, not a bad seat in the house.

5 Star Venue 5 Star Service…read more-2 Stars for Lack of Comfort This was our first visit to the Music Hall. I was having difficulty buying seats online for our event so I ended up calling the ticket office. Whoever helped me was great. She was patient and helpful. Explaining that this was our first visit there, I wanted to ensure we had the best possible seats to enjoy the show as well as have a great overall experience. Based on our conversation I chose lower balcony, front row seats. I recall the agent asking if we had any issues with stairs which was good as there are quite a few stairs to get to the balcony. While we found the view to be great, the seats are horrible. They are extremely skinny and uncomfortable. I saw on the floor that they even use bistro chairs at the ends of some aisles. From the looks of things, the only comfortable seats would be the boxes along the walls as they looked to have chairs that you could move. The front-row balcony is not well suited for anyone over 6' tall as there is not enough leg room to sit with your legs in front of you. By the time the concert ended, my legs were cramping, my butt was sore, and my lower back in knots from trying to sit a bit sideways. Anyone who is slightly overweight will find the seating most uncomfortable. Aside from that, the theater is quite beautiful and the acoustics seemed to work well for our event. The staff is friendly and helpful. Exiting the theater went smoothly and quickly. We will definitely return but will try for box seats to see if they are more comfortable.
