I used to go to a salon down the road until it unfortunately closed so I thought I'd try this one…read more The staff were not friendly or welcoming and I was shocked at the end of the appointment to be charged £60 for a simple cut and blow-dry, which was basically a very small trim of shoulder-length fine thin straight hair and it was over in 35 minutes. And the result was not good - the worst hair cut I've ever had - not that I would have thought cutting my hair was that complicated. Tried someone else down the road after this £22 and the result was much much better.

I called on a Saturday morning for a haircut for my son. We got an appointment for later in the day…read moreand were told the cost was £22. When we arrived, my daughter saw it was a nice salon and also wanted a haircut. So we asked for a haircut for her, too, and they said it would be no problem to cut her hair right after. When the stylist came by (almost 15 minutes late), we were told that they usually charge full price on Saturdays, but since we were misinformed, he would honor the price for the one, but would charge full price for the second. Since my son really didn't want his hair cut anyway, and there was a place just down the block that charges only £8.50, we decided our daughter only would get the haircut. To which we were told that it would be £27 for her, not £22. I showed him both of their hair, how my son's is complicated and layered, but my daughters is just a straight trim right across, with no layers at all. But no, apparently for the reason that she doesn't have a penis, and nothing to do with the hair or the cut, they were going to charge significantly more for her. This is absolutely disgusting and is sexism at its "finest." I will not patronize sexist establishments like this and I hope you do not, either.

Since coming back from University I've been looking for a decent place to get my hair cut and their…read moreoffer of a cut and blow dry for £15.00 beckoned to the student in me. The shop looked very modern and stylish but I'm still wondering where their name came from. With it being a new hairdresser and a price this low I was naturally a bit worried but I had nothing to worry about! I didn't have to wait long for the stylist and they kindly offered me a drink. The wash basin was uncomfortable as it pressed into my neck but that was a minor and temporary issue. I like to talk to stylists because it feels like the time passes quicker and if I become a regular then they get to know who I am and what my hair is like, so they know how to handle it. The conversation was a little slow at first but we soon got chatting away. Have you ever been to a hair dresser where they've pressured you into getting something they think is best for you? I'm sure most ladies have. I was pleased and relieved that the stylist actually gave me the cut I wanted! I might come back here again.

Sometimes a quick trim of the fringe is all you need…read more I walked passed this hairdressers on the way to a regular clients office.I was a little worried about asking for just a fringe trim but the receptionist was really friendly and put me at ease. Once ready, a female hairdresser came to get me and she sprayed the front of hair so it was all wet, gave it a trim, and then blow dried it. It looked so much better than I would've done myself and it was only £5!

The worse experience I've ever had at a hair salon. The so-called 'senior' stylist had no idea what…read morea shag haircut was and just wanted to cut a style she had learned. My thick long hair is great for any stylist with an ounce of creativity. I should have left after the consultation rather than staying for the cut. The stylist was rude, argumentative, and wouldn't cut the disconnected layers I wanted. Instead she took too much off the length and left me with all the weight at the bottom: that horrid triangle look. Never again!

Artico hairdressing This stylish hairdresser was founded in…read more1993 and is locally renowned for being the cutting edge of hair dressing. Every time I've been there it's obvious that the friendly staff have been highly trained. The staff offered a wide range of tips and advice for my hair type and guidance to keep my hair in that 'salon' style (I'm sure they'll do the same for you). They even offer you a drink whilst you wait! Artico stocks a wide range of professional hair care products including Aveda, Tigi, Loreal professional and Rocoon. This way they have the right product for your individual style. For example my hair is big, thick and curly and this can take a lot of managing; however the stylists took care of this by using hair products that would make my hair easier to manage. A great tip they told me is if your hair is thick/ curly then using taming products (if you're not happy with your current style) and if you want to straighten your hair then straighten it in small sections using thin straightness. I loved how their products made my hair look and smell fabulous! So all of this sounds great right? But it comes at a large price, which wasn't so great if you're on a budget or a student like me. Their price structure is determined by the training and professional experience of the stylist. Very poor service. I went to this place to get my hair dyed and got told I needed a skin test first…read moreand so went along for a skin test, then booked to have my hair dyed. Unfortunately I then came down too ill to go to my appointment. I phoned up and talked to Bond and asked her what their cancellation policy was as nobody had told me and it was nowhere on the website. I was not told on the phone what the policy was either, all I got told was that she will book me in to have my hair dyed another day, so she booked me in. I then had to cancel a second time as I had terrible flu and my dad talked to Bond on speaker phone so I could hear and my mum could I hear (I was too ill to use my voice) and again no cancellation policy or anything was explained, all that happened is my hair dye appointment was booked in another time. So I turned up to have my hair dyed, having organised my whole month so I could be there as it is tricky for me to go as I am 95% housebound with severe chronic health problems, and I then got told by Bond that she would not dye my hair that day, they she would only do another skin test first and then I'd have to return again next week (which I was not able to do). I told her that I had not been told any of this on the phone, and she said that she had explained all of this. I explained that I had talked to her, and my dad had talked to her with my mum and me listening in on speakerphone, and neither time was any of this explained. My mum and dad confirmed this. She still said all of this had been explained and would not apologise for her mistake. I will not return to this place again. I am not well enough to be messed about. It took a lot to get there only for them to not dye my hair. The least they could have done was apologise. I am never using your hairdressers again. Poor communication, poor service.
