The outside and the reception area of the Rhapsody Resort wasn't grand but simple. Yet the interior of the rooms were fantastic! We were allocated a room on the 15 floor facing the sea and the view was just great! The soothing sounds of the waves breaking on the beach and the occasional birds are all too alluring. There are two small pools, one heated for the dip you may want to have, Sauna Rooms and there are BBQ pits too. If you want to have a good unobstructed view, go to the top! There are nice settees! The apartment is roomy and comes with a open concept kitchen and had a nice balcony with a dining table for outdoor dining. Air conditioners are provided in the bedrooms as well as the living room. The period we were staying through (June) provided the fresh cold air without the air conditioners. The bed linens and bathrooms are clean and bath amenities were provided and added daily when needed. Generous! The location was also good as it was near to the city tram and we took advantage of it to travel to the nearby Chevron Renaissance for shopping and eating. Will come back for another stay when I am back to Brisbane for my holidays!

Surfers Paradise stay This is an older style apartment…read morecomplex in a terrific Surfers Paradise location just one block from the beach and one block from the Northcliffe light rail stop. We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment with a spacious bedroom, good bathroom, fully-equipped kitchen and living/dining area that had been renovated to a high standard. The pool is sparkling and the gardens are beautifully maintained with lush green lawns. We stayed for 6 nights and went to the beach and pool most mornings, so we really appreciated the laundry facilities in our apartment. There is secure underground parking in the complex. During our stay, we checked out the penthouse which was gorgeous - 3 bedrooms (2 ensuite) and 3 bathrooms spread over 2 levels with stunning views. Carolyn is a lovely host - super welcoming, friendly and helpful. This is highly recommended for a Surfers Paradise stay.

Belle Maison is one of only a few salmon coloured apartment blocks in Gold Coast. It thus stands…read moreout for the wrong reason, looks older and dated. Look beyond that and you'll be pleasantly surprised. Our apartment was very large, clean and welcoming. It's perfect for 4 or 5 people and if the internal configuration was better (and it could be) it could easily house 6-8. It has great views and a large balcony and all the amenities one requires including a full kitchen, pantry with some odds, a full laundry, two bathrooms and a car park. It has great security and you generally require your key/pass to get anywhere including to your floor, to the carpark, gym, games room and even the outside areas which include the pool, bbq's, tennis court etc. There were some minor maintenance issues but all apartments would be different and some may be better than others. I refer to things like a dirty old kettle, a warped frying pan, a broken power switch, a damaged remote control etc. Overall it's quite, secure, spacious and a lovely place to stay.

I stayed in an ocean view room this time around and it was quite pleasant compared to the meager entry level rooms. The ocean, but not the beach, was in view from the generous balcony. So too was the pool area. This may not be to everyone's taste, but I didn't mind. The buffet breakfast was adequate, but had some problems; the rising sun is an inevitable problem that surely surely must surely must have a solution, and the noise levels can get quite boisterous when the children get excited. It's also worth noting that breakfast comes with filtered coffee. It broke my spirit a little. The place is clean and tidy though. And it's directly beside shops, cafes, restaurants, and the like.

My room had the two small (realllll small) twin bedside the bathroom and open closet attached. We also had our own tv and DVD player and balcony sliding door. I loved it. We had an awesome view of Coolangatta beach. The main room has a small couch and a leather chair, so not really inciting if you had a family or 4/5 here to sit down and watch tv. There is a huge round table to seat everyone. Kitchen was clean and they had appliances and cups and things. I did use their toaster for morning tea and it works! Didn't have any of the free tea though. There was 4 sliding doors to lead out to your own huge and long balcony! The master bedroom was a bit small, not much space to walk around if you had a suitcase on the floor. And the bathroom was across the way, not too far, and it had the tub and a stand up shower. Good for babies who still take baths. And the washing and dryer were inside this bathroom. Why it doesn't get 4 stars is cuz of the musky smell upon entering. It smelled a lot like urine and just old air. As soon as we put on the AC it got rid of it. So I would recommend that the hotel staff leave the AC on, a high temp so it's not too draining, and it'll help get that smell out. The rooms all had ceiling fans too. Lovely touch.
